Character Creation Update
Character Creation Update is here
You can now choose to play as Adam or an entirely new character.
Playing as a custom character makes Adam into an NPC, you can talk to him and help him get some building parts, something players are always hungry for. Keep in mind that custom character creation will be locked behind buying the game, and this version of the demo is the only one where the feature is available for everyone.
Created characters recycle assets from the other characters, so there are very few options for clothing right now, and some of them do clip with each other, this is something we will be adressing in the future. Luckly this update also allows modding in custom 3D models, we will be making a guide on how to do that shortly.
A lot of other small improvements have been added since last large update, small UI improvements, bug fixes, the end-day screen.

Friday Progress Report 318
My brother is doing the final bug fixes for the custom character update and we should release today
While the update is save compatible we still recommend restarting, if you load an old save you can craft the cabinet (under furnitures) to customize once, after that you can only change clothes, hair and name.
We have also fixed a few problems with the AI, NPCs' need for leisure now works, so you will see them pretend to read a book in the library now and then, also NPC crops now lose water slowly and don't show icons, so they won't die constantly from neglect and even if it happens the player won't see it unless they inspect the crops.
Character expressions will be added in the following weeks, each NPC line will now have an expression attached to it, so you will see their expressions change when talking to you.
After that we will add a lose condition to the game, you will start the game in debt and will have to be useful (either do NPC quests or pay by the end of the week), in the first 4 weeks you have to meet the quota to avoid a game over, but after that it becomes optional (you can choose to stop paying) and you will receive a score based on how many weeks you managed to pay.

Friday Progress Report 317
The character customization update is almost done, Adam now works as an NPC, he just needs some stuff like quests (he will request exclusively building materials) and a proper schedule.
I got my computer back, seems to be working just fine now, I will resume working on the custom model mod sample this week and will probably release together with the update.
There will be plenty of bugs to find, we had to change a lot of things to make this work, so this might delay the update launch a bit.
We will try to release before the summer sale ends.
Friday Progress Report 316
We are taking a bit longer to finish NPC Adam because my brother is making the modifications necessary to allow mods to add new NPCs, the way NPC AI is implemented right now is very scuffed, so modded NPCs will most likely have to clone parts of the schedules from existing NPCs, it will be fixed later when we finally manage to actually work on the AI update.
Since my computer is still not back I am working on new faces and hairs for the male character, so far I made 4 faces (Adam's face without the scar being one of them) and 5 hairstyles (Adam hair is available)
I will also work on new expressions for the current NPCs so we can make NPC expressions change when talking to you to make it less static.
