Hey everyone, we were working hard these past weeks and proud to release a brand new update which aims to rework and improve the game's UI, as well as adds a big chunk to the world, new dialogs and a quest.
Here is the list of some of the most noteworthy changes:
WORLD
a whole new starting area, with weaker mobs, its own loot and a user-friendly tutorial
VISUALS
different hats can be used now
GAMEPLAY
you can now mine antigravium!
new item pickup system
a new stat-boosting item
you now have to hold E for 3 seconds to release bug control
BALANCE
remote controlling bugs now require crafting a bug with a neurochip
alien cactus bat now applies a poison effect on hit
UI

a completely reworked focus system
mouse support for dialog ui

QUESTS / DIALOGS
Msasi now gives a new quest Little Helpers
new dialogs for Vorga, Kwagga and Old Mug
some NPCs now teach mining

breaking scanner won't kill player in case of very low hp

countless bugfixes and additions
Jack now leaves resting state and stops waiting upon being hit
those engaged in a dialog now look at each other

Hotfix Update
Hey gang, we're hard at work on our first content update right now, and despite the holidays we have managed to bring you yet another hotfix update with lots of fixes and improvements.
Here is the list of some of the most noteworthy changes:
Visuals
added hard landing animation as well as landing animations variations when player holds a pistol or a shotgun
limited the extent to which various character can turn their head to look at someone
Gameplay
faster swimming when holding shift
fixed bug when Jack would rarely freeze and stop responding to keyboard input if he ate or drink something in rapid succession
Save/Load
autosave before sitting at a campfire
autosave on quest finish
UI
added an enemy healthbar and label at the top of the screen that is currently under attack of the player
can now clear any hotbar slot by right clicking and selecting "clear slot" option
empty containers are now labeled as such
the player can now drag an item to a hotbar straight from a container
the hunger/thirst notifications should show up once every 30 seconds
Quests/Dialogs
green bug quest: added a visual placeholder so it is now clear where the bait must be placed once the player found the right cluster of bitebug hives
it is no longer required for the player to "install" the bait for the greenbug from the inventory
the green bug is a quest item, so it doesn't matter how many regular bugs the player has in his inventory
it is now possible to return Zak's whistle to Zak
talking with Juggo immediately after he says he's going to start digging but before he actually starts moving should no longer result in Juggo being stuck
We recommend to start a new game. However, if you didn't yet start the green bug quest, loading an old save might just work.
Hotfix Update
Dear players, here is yet another hotfix update with lots of fixes and improvements.
The list of changes includes but not limited to:
Visuals
Correct sprint animation with two-handed ranged weapons e.g. shotguns added
Added a landing animation after a jump
Eating melons should show the melon in Jack's hand
Gameplay
A small introductory scene at the beginning of the level added
You can light up dead campfires
Fixed a bug when you could eat more food without waiting till the eating animation finishes
Scanner is now an item, you must have it in your inventory in order to be able to scan your surroundings
Balance
NPC Msasi buys hornhog horns for a good price
Harvestable plants now regrow their fruits at a slower pace
Increased maximum height at which falling damages Jack - you can now land from higher places safely
Save/Load
Fixed a bug with invisible objects after loading
Input
You are no longer forced to walk after depleting your stamina
UI
You can select a screen resolution in options
Fullscreen mode added to options
Loading screen tells how Jack ended up on K'Tharsis
Fast travel now has its own ui
Item value will be displayed in tooltip
Increased number of inventory slots to 100
Completed quests now should be greyed out in journal
Escape button closes waiting menu, forces exit from terminal and returns back to pause menu from options and save/load menus
Quests/Dialogs
A couple of Jack's phrases are voiced now
Fixed a bug when you could talk with Juggo about the arphant while Molly was already on the way to Zak
The player could activate the lost arphant's quest completion condition instead of Molly
Added a quest to fix your scanner
Other
Fixed a bug with skipped notifications
Lots of typos fixed
As always, we recommend you to start a new game. You might try loading an old save, but this way you might skip some content you might be interested in.

Количество ячеек инвентаря увеличено до 100
Завершенные квесты в журнале теперь отображаются серым цветом
Кнопка Escape теперь закрывает меню ожидания у костра, инициирет выход из режима терминала, и позволяет выйти из подменю опций и др. обратно в меню паузы
Квесты/Диалоги
Добавлена озвучка некоторых фраз Джеком
Исправлен баг когда все еще можно было поговорить с Juggo об арфанте после его возвращения хозяину
Игрок мог завершить квест "Потеряный арфант" в обход возвращения Molly

Dear space cowboys, we've been hard at work this whole week fixing bugs and making the game more enjoyable.
The list of changes includes but not limited to:
Optimization
game’s performance improved on 20-30% depending on your PC configuration.
Gameplay
fixed a bug where stamina and energy would recover faster with lower framerate
increased inventory space
you can now choose how many items to sell an item
while walking as a bug you no longer see interact hints
if empty-handed, clicking Left Mouse Button now should draw the last equipped weapon
fixed the shock fence recipe: it needs a tripod, electrical and mechanical scrap to craft
added eating animations for Jack
you can now cook more than one item at once at the campfire
bluethorn now has harvestable branches with leaves growing over time (like desert melons and other plants)
added sound effects to running arphants
Balance
increased SCAMP and The Equalizer damage, decreased cactus club and LED lamp damage
hornhogs shouldn't be so easy to stunlock and kill from behind anymore
significantly reduced kilocalories decrease from sprinting
using Jack’s scanner implant costs more energy
Save/Load
loading should no longer put random objects from the inventory on Jack's back
saving and loading now should properly handle permanent buffs, hunger, hydration
if the the main character dies, autosave no longer triggers on exit to menu
save button is turned off when the main character is dead
a couple of seconds after Jack’s death a dialog box will pop up asking if you
want to load a saved game. Selecting Yes would open a list of saved games, otherwise you will quit to the main menu.
shock fences, sunflower beacons and turrets are properly saved and loaded now
Input
you can now adjust camera height with Page Up\Down buttons
added a journal entry that keeps track of all discovered fast travel destinations
added menu options for inverting mouse Y axis, field of view adjustment slider and mouse sensitivity settings
UI
hitting Escape now will close game’s GUI windows such as inventory etc
added an entry in Help screen about some cool things you can do with a captured living bug
fixed a bug where you couldn't drag and drop items from various containers to your inventory
item info texts should no longer be cutoff by the top of the screen
notifications stay longer on the screen
hotbar should now show item count if more than one is available in your inventory
date alignment in the list of saved games
list of saved games should now be properly sorted by date
Quests/Dialogs
fixed a bug when some dialogs would suddenly stop
fixed a bug when talking to someone would freeze Jack in place
Vasily now asks for 6 scrap
you should no longer be able to talk about Molly with Zak after you finish the quest
you should no longer be able to give meat to Juggo multiple times
Other
Jack's head should no longer spin when you start controlling a bug
various typos fixed.
We strongly recommend you to start a new game. You might try loading an old save, though we cannot guarantee that you won't encounter odd bugs, as in this hotfix update we were concentrating on fixing issues, not backward compatibility. In future updates we will try to make it possible to load up an old saves without major errors.
Hotfix Update
Some of you may have noticed that we've already pushed a couple of updates but didn't yet announce what exactly went into those updates. The following list should give you an idea.
The list of changes includes but not limited to:
Fixed a bug with Vasily's dialog, where if you chose the wrong option at the start would result in him skipping the introduction and not starting his quest. This is fixed for new games and those of you who didn't talk to Vasily yet. If you load an old game, you could hit ~ and type in the console startquest vasily_tools
The scanner should no longer highlight empty containers
Fixed a bug where you couldn't overwrite a savegame
Hitting Save button without selecting any save and without typing anything now saves into a "default" slot
Fixed the problem where saving after finishing a certain quest would result in game crashing before loading main menu.
The hungry slaves now want fried meat and their dialog (and quest journal entries) reflect that.
Fixed a bug where while typing in the save game name, the main character would quietly react to some of the keys pressed.
Fixed a bug where Zak's arphant would be stuck if saved when it's running to Zak.
Stone Heads Trader now has a proper dialog.
Added collisions to antigravium crystals.
Various typos fixed.
While we recommend to start a new game, in theory loading up an old one might just work.
