Hubworld Update, Skill Tree Progress, and Patch Notes
Hello Expeditioners!
We are announcing the release of the Open Hubworld update! Now, you can see everybody who is playing on your Hubworld server. We hope this increases the chances of player interaction within the game, leading to more trading, formations of parties, and roleplaying opportunities. A Hubworld server can hold up to 33 parties, and 99 maximum possible players.
We also have progressed on our skill tree and would like to show you a sneak peak! The skill tree system aims to provide players with a massive amount of new abilities to experiment with. Some of them require specific weapons, some of them don't require any gear at all. Here is an example of our WIP Shield Charge skill.
Skills can be slotted into the R and F keys. By default, the kick ability is considered a skill, and you will be able to choose to keep it, upgrade it, or swap it out entirely for another skill. The player can equip up to 2 skills.
The skill tree features two main types of skills currently Martial Arts and Alchemy.
Players who like to charge into battle with active skills can focus on obtaining Martial Arts skills that require specific weapons. Active Martial arts skills require stamina to use and go on cooldown. Passive Martial arts skills grant buffs to certain playstyles. Martial Art skills include abilities such as:
Shield Charge- while sprinting, charge with your shield out to impact and stun enemies ahead of you in an AOE cone.
Sweeping Cleave- While wielding a two hander or a polearm, unleash an uninterruptible 360 swing that deals critical damage and stuns blocking opponents.
Qi Heal- Harness the healing powers of your Inner Qi and heal an ally, or yourself if not targeting anybody.
Qi Lightning- Gather your Qi to unleash a blast of energy that does normal damage to one target, but will stagger groups of enemies.
Leaping strike- A passive skill that increases your damage after a jump.

Players who look to craft and use utilities may focus on obtaining Alchemy skills. Alchemy will allow you to craft special consumables, granted you have the resources. Alchemy skills include abilities such as:
Fire Lance- Unlock the ability to craft a one-use primitive gunpowder based weapon. Launch a rocket at your foes that explodes with deadly force.
Smoke pot- Unlock the ability to craft a grenade that creates a cloud of smoke that slows down movement speed and stamina regeneration inside the cloud.
Steel- Unlock the ability to craft Wootz Steel onto weapons, making the weapon unable to lose durability.
Crystal Shards- Unlock the ability to craft explosive crystal shards that can be thrown to kite groups of enemies.

Patch Notes
Additional input tweaks to make sprint feel better and require less re-input when interrupted
Durability bars added to weapon HUD
When an Asura hits a bot enemy, the bot enemy will lose immortality bonus(by default all bots are immortal until hit by a player)
Updated items with new graphics for upgrade slots
Shield balance tweaks- removed movement speed debuff on all shields, increased their parry effectiveness, and fixed bug where shield heavy attacks were slow
Crossbow balance tweaks- base damage lowered(wooden 300> 250, arbalest 400>340), headshot damage increased from +35% to +50% (bots do reduced bonus headshot damage)
You can now loot dropped bags on top of bodies, preventing the unable to loot exploit.
Additional anti-cheat measures to fight the ongoing war against hackers.
Insured gear that is inside an insured backpack should now return with the insurance.
Opening doors no longer grants Exp.
More matchmaker Optimizations.
Toxicity and Fullness warnings appear at 50% now.
Hubworld servers are now open and can fit up to 33 parties/99 players.

3/31/23 Patch Notes - Hotfixes & Balancing
Cintamani fragments, Cintamani jewels, and Lemurian keys stack to 20 again
Special Locked Chests now take only 1 key item from a stack, and can be properly opened again
Player can now matchmake into games that already started up to 5 minutes into an expedition, this should make matchmaking even more optimal for fuller games
Parry effectiveness added to full stat page
Light attacks and heavy attacks stamina cost increased by 20%, kicks changed from default cost 170 to 120
Updates map descriptions since they no longer cost keys
Corrupted zombies hitboxes reduced and attack speeds reduced 20%
NOTE: THIS UPDATE WILL RESET YOUR KEYBIND FOR RELOAD AND KICK- this is due to exciting changes in the background regarding THE SKILL TREE SYSTEM. Sorry for any inconveniences and please spread the message!

Solo Queue and Map Rotation Patch Notes
Hello Expeditioners! We have updated the way our maps function for the patch that is releasing tonight. These changes will hopefully streamline matchmaking and help the game servers fill with more players. Make sure to join our Discord to get the latest updates!
We are removing newbie matchmaking to prevent the population from being split. New players and veteran players will now match together.
Solo Lost Island is now implemented. Groups who wish to play Lost Island may still do so.
Freebooter Arena and Lost Island will always be available, but the rest of the maps and any new maps in the future, will now be included in a randomized map rotation system that refreshes every 7 hours. This will streamline the population and also create a sense of urgency since now you can only attempt specific quests on specific days. This will also allow us to continue adding new content without splitting the population each time. This system may be modified in the future as our population continues to grow.

Added the Lost Island Solo Queue.
The Forsaken Temple, the Hypogean Undercroft, the Ancient Caverns, and ALL FUTURE maps will now be available based on a rotation cycle. Every 7 hours the available map will change. Keys are no longer required to access maps, but instead, the key items are now consumed and unlock special chests in the maps that drop good loot. Loot across all maps have been lowered in quality. Up to 20 public parties should now be able to be seen in public party browser.
Cintimani Fragment is now 400 gold.
Damage Dealt screen now shows the damage you dealt to others.
Items inside of backpacks no longer return with insurance.
Added Bug report link in game in ESC menu.
Added Quick repair button in the insurance screen. 7g per 1 item durability.
All gear that spawns in Freebooter Arena is returned to your stash with 0 durabilty, in order to stop Arena Profiteering and Teaming.
Freebooter Arena no longer drops potions other than health tincture.
Server ping disabled to stop players from confusing what their ping is.
Recipe notes now stack to 20.
Fixed bug with quest tracking in non English languages.

03/21/23 Patch Notes - Solo Player Buffs/ Bug Fixing
Added outnumbered buff- For each enemy player near you, gain 25% additional stamina regeneration rate only when Exhausted.
Kicks now refund a small amount of stamina.
Added ripostes, affecting all weapons. Parrying gives you a buff for the next 3 seconds, affecting one attack. This next attack costs no stamina, is uninterruptible(can still be blocked), deals 25% additional stamina damage, and is 25% faster.
Everything below the knees takes 50% less damage, applies to humanoids.
Olfactory Augmentation vial has reduced distance, only lasts 15 seconds now, and adds 60 toxicity.
Added additional Anti-Cheat measures.
Corrupted Zombies now drop corrupted blood.
Fixed memory leak involving stash- the crash can still happen but it should be much harder to trigger.
Fixes to asura to improve chance of it not evaporating into thin air during jump attack.
Fixed bug where parrying would slow down your movement.
Fixed music bugs where they would spam play on repeate, but we had to disable dynamic combat music for now.
Fixed fish carving missing from asura arena for Ching's quest.
Fixed bug where region activity didn't update properly.
Fixed broken travel to land boat in the back of the Ship in the hubworld.
Fixed Bakufu npcs not wearing proper clothing.
Fixed Templar knight not wearing the Crusader Paladin Torso.
Fixed animals in the Forsaken temple dropping the wrong type of meat.
Fixed bug where NPCs spawn underground at the Sun Scorched Camp.
Note: corrupted zombies spawning at the northern camp event at the Lost Island is still not dropping rewards. Beware, will fix this another day
