Fatal Velocity: Physics Combat

Going Free To Play

As of today, I made Fatal Velocity: Physics Combat a free to play game.

Why? (Some may be wondering)

I can no longer develop the game and feel that since I can't carry on any updates - people shouldn't be forced to pay to play the game.

There are still bugs and issues - but if you feel like killing some time with friends give it a go, swing around, knock some people off the map and enjoy.

THANK YOU to those who supported me during the development (playtests and demos). If you picked up a copy - you have my sincerest thanks

Should I win the lottery I'd definitely pick up and continue the development xD

Steam Sale & What's Been Happening

Hey everyone,

Wanted to mention that Fatal Velocity is currently 70% off during the Steam Sale! If you already have a copy let your pals know so you can throw 'em under a train or into some turbines!

What's Been Happening?

I want to keep everyone in the loop so they know where we've been and what's the future of Fatal Velocity.

(Where we've been)
- Dream Hack Austin 2018
- Positive feedback for the game & suggestions to improve
- Working on level design to standardize scale of maps and hazards
- Experimenting with weapon and gameplay design changes

(What's the future?)
- If new weapon and gameplay design changes work, expand upon original idea and keep growing the game's interest into the FPS genre
- Development will continue, but at a slower pace due to limited resources (1 developer working on this doesn't make it easy!)
- Community has shown some interest in tournaments [2 vs 2] or [3 vs 3]
- Explore the possibility of a solo exploration experience

If you haven't already, be sure to join our Discord for more community interaction! We're around 950 people and it would be f*cking AWESOME to hit 1,000 by July!!

CTF Mode Now Officially WIP (check out playtest #23)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVuzZnbU3cg&t

It's time to start working on other modes than just DM/TDM and Last Man Standing! I present, Capture the Flag! This is our first playtest in this mode - the focus of the game being different than PVP makes speed and movement just a hell of a lot more fun. Seriously, want to Spider-Man around and not have to worry about targets? Just double or quad Grapple Tech up, go for the flag and swing away!

Back From PAX EAST 2018

Hey everyone!

Finally back from PAX East 2018 and had a very good time. Definitely a learning experience and one where I walked away with my motivation recharged! I was constantly in awe of the cool games around me and meeting new people was absolutely awesome. Even with how crazy busy it was, I didn't want it to end.

It was absolutely killer people would simply walk up start playing and just start trying to figure Fatal Velocity out. As it's not a typical FPS game I had to explain how to play and different methods of doing different things. All in all it was so great to get constructive feedback and I looked at the event like it was a 4 day playtesting session!

Here are my thoughts in the vlog, and I'll see you all later.

Update 798 Notes

- Scaled the strength multiplier on the Push Tech_ to be less OP
- Made the blast radius of the mine to be more accurate to it's particle representation
- Slow down the rising lava in the new 'Lava' map
- Spawn points in 'Lava' now teleport players to proper spawns depending on the lava's vertical position
- Implemented a new temporarily Push Grenade particle to improve it's visible blast radius

Fatal Velocity: Physics Combat Enters Early Access

So here we are - the 5 year journey to get the game finally ready for Early Access is less than a few hours away. Long story short, the craziness of getting this game up and running since 2013 has been a dream of mine and to finally get here feels pretty badass, but journey is far from over. The game still has many improvements to enhance the experience and I'm looking forward to getting those underway after PAX East if the public interest allows it.

I wanted to extend a massive thank you to everyone for helping me playtest the game - even if it was only once, doesn't matter. Your feedback at that time definitely helped me make the game what it is today. I just wanted to announce that all players who helped playtest up to today will have the game for free - on me as a massive thank you.

If you initially intended to buy a copy, please do me a favor and buy one for your friend. It'll be 30% off for the first little while, would help spread the word and get the game out to more people that don't know it exists.

Thank you again for your help and I hope to see you at one of playtests soon!

New Early Access Date!

I have some major news to announce today. I have decided to officially launch Fatal Velocity: Physics Combat Early Access on March 27, 2018 instead of April 18, 2018. Heading to PAX in early April will not only allow players to try the game right then and there but buy a copy on the spot which is a huge opportunity to grow the community.

We’re going to work on polishing everything that is key to the gameplay experience such as tutorials, UI, networking and maps. Things like new maps and game modes will be temporarily halted until after PAX.

I've also made a development vlog talking about recent accomplishments and upcoming plans to really polish the Early Access build!

Fatal Velocity Heading To Pax East 2018!

There are only 63 days until we head out to PAX East (April 5-8). We're going for a few reasons: build the community, meet others and playtest the game for 4 days straight before we enter into Steam Early Access on April 18th! If you'll be attending PAX East please come by and say hello!

(Booth 23099)

It finally feels like it's coming together. Our main focus from here on out is polish. Everything from the UI feedback, figuring out those pesky bugs, improving the art/particles and getting in a couple more maps before we officially launch! (And a few other things)...
