Hello again everyone! We continue our marathon of updating Fated Kingdom digital board game. This time we decided to tackle improvements in several areas at once. First, we brought back animated cursors that were gone after upgrading to a new version of the Unity engine.
Secondly, we slightly revised the rulebook based on your feedback. Coins no longer count towards victory points, but towers do! We've also expanded descriptions on combat dice and game board. Along with that, we reworked «Relentless Knight», which raised questions after the escape mechanic was removed. We hope that now it will be easier for beginners to get used to.
Thirdly, we fixed a bug with the fate sphere, tightened the layout on the guild selection screen, and improved the display of english fonts. And modders can now clear numeric values instead of removing the entire card.
Rulebook:
- The rules for scoring when the game ends early have been changed again: coins are not counted, but towers are.
- Added instructions in case the player got on the road sign on the Outer path.
- Added a list with values for each of the three types of combat dice.
Bug Fixes:
- In rare cases, the information on the guild selection screen could be displayed incorrectly.
- Some special symbols were not displayed in the description of the cards of the english version.
- Fate sphere might not work for everyone except the host.
Other Changes:
- «Relentless Knight» card now prevents wounds from being healed in combat, and its value is increased by 1.
- A function for clearing numeric fields has been added to the editor.
- Animated cursors returned.
- Minor text and localization fixes.

After the release of the last update, we began to receive messages about errors and crashes. Unfortunately, our team of two people was not strong enough to thoroughly test the last build and save it from all the problems. Therefore, we decided to release an update aimed at fixing all the bugs we noticed. If you have had them before, then be sure to try the new version of Fated Kingdom!
We also decided to change one problematic card - «Wheel of Fortune». It caused a lot of questions and negatively affected the dynamics of the game. This now has a much clearer condition that is easy to track. It was also decided to slightly change the «Cliff» square so that it does not repeat one of the other squares on the game board. In addition, this change should slightly reduce the average match time.
There is another update ahead, the content of which will be announced shortly. Follow the news!
Cards and Squares:
- «Breakage» square now raises Fate by 1 in addition to its main action.
- «Wheel of Fortune» now requires defeating a creature without being wounded.
Bug Fixes:
- After picking up the same object multiple times, the sound of interaction with it could disappear.
- All players' cursors could turn blue right after the start of the game.
- Match restart could fail on second use.
- Wounds could fall through the game board.
- Dice could shake slightly on their own.
- Missing background on card gallery and Rulebook screens.
Other Changes:
- Changed the scoring rules for early game completion: now not only creatures and items, but also coins and skills are taken into account.
- Minor text and localization fixes.

In this 40th Fated Kingdom update, we are proud to bring you a redesigned game board rendering system. Previously, the entire central part of the playing field was generated by a single object with its very large texture, which took up a lot of video memory and created some other problems during development. Now squares are created as separate elements in the same way as the faces of cards.
This allowed once again to improve optimization and make the game more comfortable for owners of low-tier PCs. We also reworked a couple of problem cards and made a number of clarifications and adjustments to the game rules. We hope you enjoy it!
Cards:
- «Curse of the Undead» card is now placed in a hand and cannot be discarded for the rest of the game.
- The action of the «Grave Robber» card has been rewritten to be more understandable for novice players.
Rulebook:
- Added clarifications to the «Hand Zone» section on which cards can be kept in hand and how to use them.
- In the «Inventory» section, the wording has been changed regarding the conditions for moving cards from hand to inventory and vice versa.
- In the «Encounters» section, clarifications have been added on where towers are placed after purchase, how to show them and how often this can be done.
- The «Skills» section has been updated in accordance with the current rules for the use of hands and equipment.
Other Changes:
- Reworked game board rendering system.
- Fixed an issue that caused wound tokens to disappear after loading a saved game.
- Fixed errors and typos in descriptions of more than 10 cards.
- Minor text and localization fixes.
