Small Fixes


  • Traders now follow clients in multiplayer

Cherry Forest, Jade and SFX



Sound Effects



  • Dirt, Sand and Grass now have a different gathering sound from stone
  • Various Leaf cubes have a new gathering sound
  • Anvils now make metal sounds while crafting
  • Chests now make a sound when opening them
  • Doors now make opening and closing sounds
  • Eating Food now makes eating sounds
  • Equipping and Unequipping items now makes sound
  • Added new Golem aggro sound
  • Added new Goblin aggro sound
  • Added new Werewolf aggro sound




Cherry Forest



  • Added 9 new enchanting locations to the Cherry Forest Biome
  • Crack open sealed treasure chambers for epic rewards
  • Climb high above the trees in Jade Watchtowers
  • Explore abandoned sections of a large wall and find what was left behind
  • Relax between the cherry trees in the Jade Courtyard or delve below in its mines in search of more material rewards
  • Added Limestone Brick to Ficterra. This is a white colored brick found in structures in the Cherry Forest Biome. It is also a decorative variant of Brick
  • Added Jade Brick to Ficterra. Jade Brick is a stronger brick made from Jade. It can be crafted starting from Tier 5 at the Mason Station. Note: Jade Brick is NOT a variant of normal brick; it cannot be converted to or from other bricks




Other



  • Added a new Variant to Ficterra: Bottom Half Corner Ramps.
    This lets you put corners on your structures made of half ramps. You can see the variant in some of the new Jade structures in the Cherry Forest Biome
  • Fixed a bug where "Auto Crafting" would show up more often than not when doing normal crafting
  • The Grow Seeds crafting plan now has a Seeds icon instead of the Research icon
  • Skeletons now have their own icon
  • Fixed a bug where the effects bar would flash on and off
  • Fixed a bug where the Elemental Power Lightning spell could hit you, but deal no damage and get its effect procced
  • Fixed a bug where part of the Elemental Power Lightning spell would last forever
  • Brown Stone Tiles and Hexagon Stone Tiles now have normal weight



Music, Machines and Mud Brick



Music



  • We've added new music tracks for a number of biomes to make you feel more in the game. The following biomes have had their music changed:

    • Ocean
    • Glacier Sea, Obsidian Arctic Plains, Snow Rock Mountains

    • Swamp
    • Breezy Beach
    • Dreary Beach
    • Cheery Steps

Sahel



  • Added 8 new hot locations to the Sahel Biome.
  • Discover various Mud Brick structures built across the land
  • Uncover the secrets of the Mud Brick Temple high atop the cliffs




Machines



  • The Machine Anvil has been added to Ficterra! This machine takes power and automatically craft
    items that the normal anvil can craft. It can also make use of vaccuum pipes to transport items in and out.
  • The Machine Tinker Table has been added to Ficterra! This machine takes power and automatically craft items that the normal tinker table can craft. It can also make use of vaccuum pipes to transport items in and out.
  • The Machine Woodshop has been added to Ficterra! This machine takes power and automatically crafts logs into planks. It can also make use of vaccuum pipes to transport items in and out.
  • The Puller Pusher has been added to the game as well. This combines the functionality of the pusher and the puller. When it receives a '1' signal it pulls, and when it receives a '0' signal it pushes. Use this to make hidden doors and other things




Other



  • Fixed a bug where amount sliders would show up on auto crafting machines
  • Wood Block now actually costs something to make (planks)
  • Fixed a bug where the Pusher would not push in multiplayer


Small Bug Fixes


  • Fixed a bug where the Mason Station would open wrong
  • Fixed errors that occur after using Power Strike with no weapon equipped
  • Highlight on equipment slots now disappears after item equipped
  • Added a recipe to craft Glass Cubes which was omitted when adding Glass Cubes to the game

Treasure Hunt



Pirate Treasure



  • Added Pirate Chests to Ficterra!
  • Pirate Chests can be found at locations in the Ocean and Tropical Beach biomes
  • Pirate Chests have their own drop table and always drop a Treasure Map Piece
  • Combine 4 pieces of a Treasure Map pieces to make a full Treasure Map
  • Follow the X on the minimap/map to find a Hearrty Pirate Chest
  • The Hearrty Pirate Chest contains Mythic level rewards and always drops a Mythic Pirate Weapon
  • Three new Mythic Pirate Weapons have been added to the game: The Salty Hook, Walter Logg's Peg Leg, and Planker




Tropical Beach



  • Added 8 new humid locations to the Tropical Beach biome
  • Raid the Impling pirate town for loads of new pirate chests!
  • Descend into the dark jungle dungeon to find monsters and mythic treasure
  • Hang out among the trees in the jungle town




Ocean



  • Added 8 new soaked locations to the Ocean biome
  • Swim in underwater caves in the depths of the ocean
  • Find broken parts of sunken ships with their cargo ready for salvage
  • Discover ancient ruins deep under the ocean floor hiding mysteries and loot




Other



  • Fixed a bug where Lava Core was also giving a research speed buff
  • Added the ability for loot chests to drop items from 2 drops tables
  • Hovering over items in the Character screen now highlights the equipment slot they go in
  • Inventory Screens now show the name of the inventory in larger text, and the word 'Inventory' in smaller text. This is to make it more clear that the two different windows are showing two different inventories


Burning Pillar and The Rimekeep



Volcanic



  • Added 8 new scorching locations to the Volcanic biome
  • Jump across moving pillars over a massive pit of burning lava to reach the treasure in the Burning Pillar at the center
  • Hop over lava flowing hills and avoid pools of fiery pain
  • Find new power in a Research Base buried under lava
  • Added Thermoelectric Generators to Ficterra. These machines generate electricity from differences in temperature. The larger the difference, the more power. These can only be found in the Volcanic Biome and cannot be crafted




Taiga



  • Added 10 new serene locations to the Taiga biome
  • Explore the lodge, a sanctuary from the harsh wilds and a former place of meeting between peoples
  • Venture into the Ruins of the Rimekeep, but be wary, since danger may well remain

  • Take a rest in a cozy cabin complete with a bath
  • Climb the watchtowers to get a bird's eye view of the beautiful landscape
  • Spot a grizzly shaped rock




Other



  • Fixed textures issues on one side of inner round ramps
  • Moving Platform tech has been added to the game, this can be seen in the lava pillar puzzle
  • Added a system to give individual placeable objects their own components and save them, used with the moving platform tech and rogue volumes
  • Automated some background processes for quicker update deployment


Tower of the Horizon




Tower of the Horizon



  • A massive tower stands on the dry rock waiting for adventurers! Explore the Tower of the Horizon, a trial filled legacy to the Gardener people. Solve and defeat the trials within for Epic and Mythic rewards. Reach the top to claim a unique item with infinite potential, and minor side effects...
  • The tower can spawn within the Dry Rock Bay biome
  • Added 'Books' to Ficterra. Books contain game lore and can be found in special locations in the world. Currently you can't write in any books, but we plan on adding this in sometime in the future.
  • Added Sublimators to the game. These are used in the Tower to have disappearing/appearing cubes based on switches
  • Added Garden Star Statues to the game. These are decorative statues found in the tower.
  • Added Dark Balls to the game. These are like Light Balls but purple, and darker looking. They can also be found in the tower
  • Added the mystery unique item as a reward for braving the tower. This is a special item that can only be found in this one spot




Dry Rock Bay



  • Added 9 new peaceful locations to the Dry Rock Bay biome
  • Uncover the secrets of the Tower of the Horizon
  • Find a small fort with supplies that makes for a nice base
  • Explore the waters for a floating barracks and sunken treasure




Harrowing Woods



  • Added 5 new spooky locations to the Harrowing Woods biome
  • Spend some time in the pumpkin patch or the ruins of a broken house
  • Search the suspiciously nice home for hidden secrets




Other



  • Item Instance data is now stored on placeable objects
  • Item Instance data is now sent over the network in multiplayer
  • Placing down / picking up a placeable object no longer has it forget its Item Instance data
  • Placeable object can now have their name overridden based on their data (eg book's title)
  • Sketches now save Item Instance data
  • Inverted the color on the coordinate display so it is now white with a black outline, this is easier to see
  • Added in the Book ui for reading books
  • Added base tech for Rogue Volumes in the code. These are pieces of terrain which are not part of the terrain system and can be given abilities like movement, rotation, etc. They act like placeable objects. Expect to see more on this in future patches
  • Added the 'tpr ' (Teleport Relative) command. This teleports you a displacement away from your current position. Example 'tpr 1 -2 3' would teleport you 1 cube right, 2 cubes down and 3 cubes forward
  • Added the 'book ' command. This gives you a lore book with a specified id (0-5) as of this patch
  • Added the 'debug convert' command to convert a part of the terrain into a Rogue Volume. This makes it uneditable and rotating. This was mainly used to make the rotating section of the Tower of the Horizon
  • Added the 'clearCubes' command. This works like 'clear' but only clears cubes
  • The 'loadSketch' command now can also load sketches in the FSketches folder. This contains the newer sketches involved in the biome refreshes
  • Fixed a bug where the icon for the normal cube was missing in the Variant menu
  • Added Kinetic Pushable tech for a new way to make objects pushable (used in Garden Star Statue)


Miner and the Mountains



Miner



  • We've added ways to automate mining in Ficterra.
  • The Wind-up Miner bot has bee added to the game and can now be crafted from the Woodshop. Press 'F' to wind up the miner and watch it go. It will mine in a straight line and store ores & stone in its inventory
  • A new Trader has added to Ficterra: 'The Miner'. They be called like other Traders after researching Social Skills.
  • The Miner can trade several items that help with automated mining.
  • The Steam Miner bot uses steam power to function longer than the Windup Miner bot can be traded for from the The Miner.
  • Steam Cells are used to power the Steam Miner, can be traded with water and coal at the Miner.
  • The Miner also has Drill Upgrades to trade you. This lets you upgrade the wooden drills to Stone or Iron
  • In addition the Miner trades AI Chips. These instruct the Steam Miner to mine in a specific pattern when placed in their inventory. Currently the AI chips have Random and Spiral patterns




Snow Rock Mountains



  • Added 6 new frigid locations to the Snow Rock Mountains biome
  • Visit the abandoned lodge or take a chilly dip into the frozen pond
  • When you are done, take a nap in the cozy cabin

Other



  • Reduced the amount of triangles used in meshes. This lessens the load on graphics cards and increases frame rate. The new method also speeds up volume creation, with ~89% of tested terrain building faster
  • Project files have been cleaned up. reducing the project and build size
  • Added support for 3D fading audio
