FLASHOUT 3 IS NOW OUT!
Hello all FLASHOUT fans!
We are delighted to inform, that the third and most explosive entry to the FLASHOUT franchise, FLASHOUT 3, is now live on Steam!
With a campaign consisting of 10 tournaments, awesome and unique ships, great electronic music and last but not least - VR, motion simulators and Steam Deck support!
That's right, and you can grab your copy 10% off! Don't miss this chance and join the competition! We hope you will enjoy the new game :).
As you hopefully know, the launch of FLASHOUT 3 on PC is just around the corner! And by PC we mean not only Windows, but also Mac OS, Linux (here a reminder - check out the demo first to make sure it runs on your distribution) and SteamOS! That's right, FLASHOUT 3 will also fully support Steam Deck from the very first day of its release! It seems it's going to be an explosive week indeed!
We are very excited that in just two days you will have the chance to check out the game and we really do hope you will enjoy it. It cost us a lot of work and many sleepless nights, but in our opinion it was worth it, as FLASHOUT 3 is the most explosive and advanced entry to the franchise.
We also wanted to share with you a longer video featuring FLASHOUT 3 on the Steam Deck, running smoothly on medium-high settings! You can check out the gameplay video below. It features a full playthrough of the first tournament (Ignition Cup). Of course have in mind that in reality the game looks even better on the Steam Deck, but we wanted to record the whole device, so you can see how the game really performs on it:
And that's all for today folks - we hope you are getting ready for the release of the game later this week - train your fingers, cuz you gonna need them;). Also don't forget to check out the demo if you didn't so far!
Each week we try to share with you some news about FLASHOUT 3 and this one is no exception! But first we would like to thank you all for downloading FLASHOUT 3D: Enhanced Edition - we brought the classic racer, that launched 10 years ago, back for FREE and almost 100.000 players downloaded it during the first week. A huge thank you!
However if you missed it, no worries, FLASHOUT 3D: Enhanced Edition is still there, so you can grab your copy!
Anyway let's get back to FLASHOUT 3, which is coming to Steam in less than 2 weeks. 2 weeks that for us mean a lot of work and polishing, but that's the way it is before each release ;). We have prepared a lot of stuff for you to enjoy in the game - 10 tournaments, 8 ships, 10 unique themed circuits in 2 versions each, VR, motion simulators support, and so much more!
We would also like to shed some light on the 2 characters you will find in FLASHOUT 3. So let's introduce you to Bea and Silas:
Wonder which character you will choose for your first campaign :). Also make sure to check out the updated description of the game to find out what you will find in FLASHOUT 3 as soon it launches on Steam!
Last but not least we didn't want to leave you without some stuff from the game. So here's a new gameplay video, this time featuring the Dark Moon circuit. It was inspired by our upcoming survival strategy game Dark Moon, which is being developed by our second team for quite some time. We are aware that many players and followers are looking forward to see something new from the game and we also do want to deliver new material asap - but as the game is very complex and we wanted to redesign some stuff and introduce new features to it, it just takes time. No worries though, as soon FLASHOUT 3 is out we will focus our marketing forces on Dark Moon. Also, make sure to wishlist the game in case you still didn't!
In the case of the Dark Moon circuit the inspiration is quite obvious. While the story in Dark Moon is pretty detailed and we don't want to spoil to much, let's just say that in the not too distant future, humankind has developed the necessary means to retrieve the Moon’s valuable minerals with extreme efficiency. With the Outer Space Treaty still valid, nine nations have agreed to work together on the new space endeavor. To ensure the stability and security of this new international agreement an organization called Moon Shell was formed. And in FLASHOUT 3 you can admire some of the structures built by the Moon Shell organization.
We would also like to introduce you to one of the ships available in the game - Skyhopper. A pretty nice construction offering great speed at the price of weaker armor.
Enjoy the gameplay video below:
That's all for today folks - we hope you are pleased with the new stuff and as always more info is just around the corner :). Also don't forget to check out the demo if you didn't so far!
First of all we would like to remind you, that tomorrow we will release FLASHOUT 3D: Enhanced Edition - the classic racer, that launched 10 years ago, will be back and will offer you many enhancements. What's more it will be available 100% FREE of charge!
So if you don't want to miss this moment and would like to travel to the past and play one of classic AG racers, wishlist FLASHOUT 3D: Enhanced Edition now!
But now let's focus on FLASHOUT 3, which is coming to Steam in 3 weeks. Yup, just 3 weeks left and we're feeling really excited about this - hope you are too :).
So today we would like to share with you 2 things:
1) We can now confirm, that on day one the game will support Sim Racing Studio! That means, that if you own a DOF simulator compatible with this software you will be able to use your sim rig with FLASHOUT 3! Just a small pro tip - you will probably need to download the latest beta of SRS to get FLASHOUT 3 support. Link below:
2) And now the main treat for today :). Here's a new FLASHOUT 3 gameplay video for you to enjoy, this time we are showing you Splashy Resort. As you can see we did a lot of progress with the development of the game, however don't treat this as something final as we are still polishing it here and there, so some small things might change.
...Aaand that's all for today - we hope you are pleased with the new stuff and as always more info is just around the corner :). Also don't forget to check out the demo if you didn't so far!
Today we have some really cool news to share with you! As you might already know, 10 years ago we have released the first game in the series - FLASHOUT 3D. Since it's the 10th anniversary of the first game and FLASHOUT 3 is coming this year, we wanted to celebrate these two facts with you. Especially that FLASHOUT 3D was never present on Steam - it was being sold in boxes (on DVD) and the digital version was limited to just a few online stores. The game was also present on the OUYA platform (well... you probably forgot that such console even existed - however FLASHOUT 3D and FLASHOUT 2 were one of the most popular games on this hardware) and on mobile devices.
Nevertheless, as we wrote above it was never present on Steam - an oversight that needs to be fixed. And we decided to fix it properly, so we took the classic, 10-years old game and remastered it a bit. Now FLASHOUT 3D offers updated graphics, full gamepad support (with vibrations), a new UI, better controls and much more! The great news is that we will offer FLASHOUT 3D: Enhanced Edition 100% FREE OF CHARGE! That's right, when the Enhanced Edition releases later this month (August 31 to be precise) it will be free! And of course no microtransactions, no sirs!
So if you don't want to miss this moment and would like to travel to the past and play one of classic AG racers, wishlist FLASHOUT 3D: Enhanced Edition now!
First of all we would like to confirm that we are on track with the production and right now we are focused on polishing the Main Menu. Here's a small sneak peek of what we have come up this far, but it's still work in progress, so you will see the final version closer to the release.
We have also told you, that we were planning to add a Split Screen mode allowing you to race against a friend or member of your family on one computer. We know this is a bit of a retro feature, but in our opinion a feature that is missed. So we can confirm that the Split Screen mode is ready and working like a charm! We also thought that it would be cool if you could choose if you want to split the screen horizontally or vertically. That's a pretty nice feature if you own an ultrawide monitor, giving you more horizontal space. So here's how it looks like:
Horizontal Split Screen (best choice for 16:9 monitors):
Vertical Split Screen (best choice for 21:9 monitors and wider):
But obviously which Split Screen version you prefer to use on your setup is your call ;).
So that's all for today - we hope you are pleased with the news and more info is around the corner, so stay tuned for additional FLASHOUT 3 info in the upcoming weeks!
FLASHOUT 3: Demo Version Updated - VR support added & more!
Hello all FLASHOUT fans!
As promised in our latest announcement, in order to celebrate the Steam VR Fest starting today, we have added VR support to the demo version! But that's not all!
In the case of VR all you need to do is start the game in VR mode (just make sure your VR headset is turned on). If you need to recenter the camera, press the right analog stick on your gamepad. We really do hope you will enjoy the action in virtual reality, as in our opinion it is really exciting and makes the heart beat faster!
But that's not all we have prepared. In order to be sure VR works properly, we needed to optimize the game and we wanted the standard version to profit from it. Thus, the demo version also got updated in this regard and the graphics were improved and what happens on the screen is now more readable, but also the framerates got better.
Last but not least, the cockpit view (even though not final) is now also present in the standard version (press the "Select" button on your gamepad to change the camera view). Tip: you can turn on or turn off the body in the gameplay options.
Hope you will be happy with the update and stay tuned for more FLASHOUT 3 news!
Long time no see, but we were really busy during recent weeks. So it's time for a small update on the progress we have made with the development of the game. As you already know, we decided to add VR support and this required us to work on a few very important things. First of all we wanted to make sure that FLASHOUT 3 works on all popular VR headsets - so not only Oculus or HTC Vive, but also on such devices as headsets made by Pimax. This was quite important, because these devices give you a much better FOV and that's something really important in racers - especially in anti-gravity racers where the circuits can have pretty crazy layouts :).
Another important thing was to optimize the game. You need to render everything twice, thus the processing power required to achieve constant and acceptable framerates is quite higher, obviously. We managed to achieve really good results in this respect and the good news is that optimizations will also have a positive impact on the standard version of the game. So it's a win-win situation.
Last but not least we knew VR needs to be really immersive. So adding a cockpit view was a must. But it was a bigger challenge than some of you might expect, because once again - anti-gravity racers are quite different than ordinary racing games. Nevertheless here's what we came up with finally:
There are two important things to mention here:
1. As you can see, in VR mode the GUI is working a bit like a HUD in a modern car. So we have moved all the information that was displayed on the screen to the cockpit. This way it's much easier to read all the info and it's, well... more cool :).
2. Because it's an anti-gravity racer, there are not only crazy loops and bends on the circuits, but also jumps and special actions that the player can perform - such as barrel rolls. And why this is a problem? The answer is quite simple - not only you need to have the possibility to look what is above you, but also what is laying below - because when you jump you want to know where to land. This is why in FLASHOUT 3 the cockpit is semi-opened. It means that you can see the main frame that holds the ship together, as well as your character (full body or hands and legs - depending on your choice), but you don't see the body of the ship. And it still makes sense, because in FLASHOUT 3 racers are using AR headsets during races, just like one of the main characters:
It is also important to note that the VR version of FLASHOUT 3 will support keyboard and standard game controllers (gamepads, wheels, hotas). Since it's a racing game we have no plans to support dedicated VR controllers (they just don't offer you enough control in racing games).
Obviously since we brought the cockpit view to VR mode, it's also present in the standard version. We are still perfecting it, but we already have the possibility to change the camera view to cockpit view also in the standard (no-VR) version of the game:
In the upcoming weeks we will show you a few new circuits and we also have some good news if you're more of a multiplayer kind of soul - we are currently working on split-screen multiplayer, a feature that is in our opinion missing in most racing games. The split-screen multiplayer will support two modes - vertical and horizontal split-screen. Pretty handy if you're a lucky owner of a widescreen monitor :).
And what about online multiplayer? Will see ;).
Meanwhile you can still check out the demo version. We are planning to add VR mode to it on Monday, so stay tuned!
