Some of you have a problem with game not starting , here is the fix, many tnx to KidwithSmurf !

Meantime we work on campaning , this month we will do some solid updates.

@conradproteus - managed to get the game to start. I was googling my error message and noticed other people had a similar error for different games.

Then I purchased a game on Steam called "What's Under My Blanket" as it was known not to start for some people similar as this game. Similarly to Flesh Eaters, What's Under My Blanket only has a game.exe in its folder which could be a coincidence as to why both these games had issues starting.

First things first I read on a Steam Forum page that if you uninstalled Physx Drivers from Control Panel, Reinstall them via your Graphics Driver Software, restart your PC it should fix things.

I was skeptical so I uninstalled everything Physx and then re-installed the latest Nvidia Graphic Drivers as to prompt the latest Physx driver to install (Physx is used by AMD too apparently). This initially didn't fix anything. So, I opted out and back into the Steam Beta, which again did nothing. So I thought, I'll restart my PC.

After restarting, I don't know that anything had changed or if either Flesh Eaters/What's Under My Blanket worked. Therefore, I kept digging and a user told me on the What's Under My Blanket Discussion Forum to right click the game.exe of What's Under My Blanket and extract the files with Winrar. I did this and this made a folder which contained a bunch of files and another .exe. After this I closed Steam fully and launched What's Under My Blanket from the .exe I had just extracted and to my amazement the game worked.

I found this hard to believe and relaunched Steam. I then tried launching What's Under My Blanket from Steam and no longer was I getting the error on startup. I then proceeded to uninstall and re-install What's Under My Blanket (To get rid of the extracted files) and after doing this the game worked almost perfectly... except I couldn't get Steam Achievements to work for the game.

Therefore, as I got What's Under My Blanket working, I decided to try Flesh Eaters and to my amazement it just works. It launched, no Application Error or anything.

Overall, I think Uninstalling and re-installing Physx Drivers and restarting my computer was the likely fix for both of these games. However, it could have to do with opting out and back in of Steam Beta as I hadn't restarted my computer until I did both of these.

TL:DR Things to try:

1. Uninstall and Re-install Physx Drivers - Restart and test
2. Opt out and in Steam Beta - Restart and Test
3. Extract Flesh Eaters game.exe by right clicking game.exe and extracting with WinRar or similar program. Then close Steam Fully and double click the extracted FleshEaters.exe. The Game should load and work. Re-Launch Steam and try playing the game from your Steam Library. If it still works, delete it and re-download and install it. Then try playing it again and all should be fixed.

If anyone is curious could you try those three in that order 1 by 1 and tell me if at any stage the game starts working for you? I pretty much did 1, 2 and 3 together myself so I'd be interested to know. Either way the games are 100% working for me again :D

PS: Getting Flesh Eaters and What's Under My Blanket to work could have been fixed by something else entirely but I have no idea as the three steps listed above is pretty much all I did.



Another fix

For those having errors with getting the game to start, there is an easy fix. right click on the game in your steam menu, click on properties, than local files, browse local files. From there simply take the game and copy paste to your desktop and close steam. This worked for me and it plays fine.

UPDATE IS HERE - first December

hey players

First of all thank you for bein here and supporting this small indie project!
This update had a litle delay because of more factors, such as my job required overtime and when i got home i was in no power to do anything else, Dmitry(coder) had a health problem but he is ok now and the code that was required for this update even tough some think its eazy its actualy very complex work taking in consideration the huge amount of code lines in the game now.

What dose the update contains:
- back buton in team selection screen(as sugested by players)
- all weapon moods work now including piercing and others(except for flashlight and helments that will be included in next update)
- buffs for weapons aka shotguns do a knockback and rifles do slow down
- a litle more ballance on weapons
- 90% of mentioned bugs fixed(except for some people having strage screen, we could not fix that because we cannot replicate it, we suspect that it may have somting to do with drivers not bein updated or some OP setings but we will investigate more when we get more details)

EDIT
We added another small update into this one :
- armored zombie random rush attack
- armor moods work now to
- bug were some zombies were not making damage fixed
- "back" butons on all menus like sugested
- mele mods temporary disabled

As an extra note i must say life of indie game developer is hard and your coments and reviews keep us motivated.we hope to finish all the features and engen this month so that next month we start work on story mode wich is the actual game.

UPDATE IS HERE - second November

Hey guys, new update is here. But first i would like to thank you from all my heart for all the youtube videos you guys made and all the likes you gived to our studio facebook page, all your support keeps us working on this game with passion. THANK YOU !

Ok now on to update on what it contains:
- moods tolltips = so now you know what each mod dose(note not all work yet)
- pathfinding final , yes after so much work on it , Dmitry final managed to get it in an awsome stage , now characters walk on diagonal to , im realy curios what you guys think of this improvment.
- the so called game not responding bug that you guys mentioned hase bein fixed
Stay tunned, this month we plan to finish all features/engen so that we may finaly start on STOR MODE !!!

UPDATE IS HERE - first November

Hey guys

We manage to get a new update up .
Its getting harder and harder so we will split this engen into 3 parts, for those of you who dont know this update is all about making all game features so after they are done we can start building the actual game(story mode)

So here is what part 1 out of 3 contains:

- 2 new uniq class skills for soldiers
- 2 new uniq class skills for medic
- 2 new uniq class skills for engennier
- test of random encounter system(they dont work yet, its only 40% ) they apear between waves on objective and survival map
- notebook interface
- weapon moods and armor moods ( 70% of them work 30% are still under development)
- turrets no longer cost to build
- new zombie enemi (mutation)
- new prices with ballance( also crafting will only require metal )

NEXT UPDATE(2/3):
- tooltips for moods
- armored zombie rush attack
- encounters for recruit/merchant and raiders fully working

NEXT-NEXT UPDATE(3/3)
- all moods working
- human enemies
- pathfinding diagonal move marking the final pathfinding system of game


AFter all this is done we will start working on story mode and then you shall have the real experience of zombie survival we have bein tryng to make with this game :)

Its bein a hard development with many ups and downs for us behinde the making of Flesh Eaters but we will see this game rise to your expectations .
The full engen working with all features will be here next 10 days(MAX) and then we will start working on the actual game , STORY !

UPDATE IS HERE - half of Octomber

Hey players,update is here


MENUS:
- option menu improved and fixed
- achievement screen added(not yet finishd)
- credit screen
- game menus polishd

FEATURES:
- rpg added (shoots manual+dose friendly DMG as well)
- mele combat working better(can also target enemi to chase)
- buffers from engenier now implemented but not yet fully working

BIG CHANGE:
- we 100% remade and improved the pathfinding, we will add final version of it at end of octomber

BUG FIXING:
- most of mentioned bugs have bein fixed



ESTIMATION OF FUTURE UPDATES :
- END OF OCTOMBER(10 november): big update will contain all features working including extra upgrades/
moods for weapons and armors, random events, new enemies and mroe
- END OF NOVEMBER: HUGE update will contain finishd game(with campaining)
- we might make some small quiq fixes/pacthes in-between this 2 big updates

Hey players, new update is here

WHATS NEW ?
- you will now be able to build only 1 turret/3 mines per engenier
- turrets are beter ballance(bigger lvls do alot more dmg, until now they all did same stats)
- you will be able to desconctruct turrets
- turrets now have HP and zombies can attack them
- zombie behaviour got improved
- mele attacks got improved(almost finishd)
- bug fixing

UPDATE IS HERE - third september

Hey guys the new update is here.

What dose it contain ? Well normaly we took this week to improve pathfinding cause you
know ther was some problems with survivors getting stuck in objects and going trough
walls and not finding path well we fixed it and also we added a litle surprize for you
so here is what we update :

FIXING:
- we fix main pathfinding problems, still have some polish to do to it but mainly its
fixed now, this was a major update

POLISH:
- we added some skills tolltips and some more popups for character and some small
polish to current art

CONTENT(heres teh surprize):
- we added a new map(MOD) were you can test all features and spam zombies yourself,
you can use this map to test weapons and mechanics

NEXT:
next we will concentrate on making current features to work 100% and then if kickstarter
is a succes we will add the rest of features(weapon mooding,npcs,bosses,encounters
MULTIPLAYER and so on) after we finish that we will polish current sandbox modes and
then we start working on campaining,
