We have released another small update that improves the quality of the game and fixes some bugs.
List of changes:
- Fixed the bug when upgrading an airport from the statistics screen gave twice as few infrastructure points as upgrading it from the map. - Arrows pointing at overcrowded cities (with camera panning to overcrowded cities disabled) have been removed from the Game Over screen. - Fixed the logic of random events in scenarios. Now, if the "Random event trigger interval" is zero, the "First random event time" and "Time before showing message with the consequence of the choice taken in event" parameters are not active and greyed out. - Fixed the timer for events that have a lifespan. Now it indicates the correct time until the next event appears, even if it is called not by the interval, but earlier, by the timeline in the scenario editor - Fixed the bug that caused the pop-up of a city or route to close when a new territory is unlocked - Fixed the assignment of target territories in the "Discover the World" mode. Now territories bordering through the Pacific Ocean will not be considered as neighbors.
As you can see, although we have already started preparing for the next big update, we also do not forget to release patches that improve the quality of the game.

Our plans for this Fall
Today we will share our plans: what we are going to work on in the coming months. As always, we would like to hear your opinion on these ideas.
New monthly game modes
Currently, the game has daily scenarios, but of course there is not an infinite number of them and after some time they inevitably repeat. We would like to add variety by adding monthly modes to the game (that is, those that are available for one month and then change to another one). For example: - A game mode in which passengers from everywhere want to fly to one specific city. This city is selected every N minutes, so you will constantly have to monitor the altering direction of the passenger flow. - A game mode in which new cities can be unlocked by the player themselves. There are two options (we have not yet come up with which one is more interesting, but we may implement both): a random city opens when the player presses a button; the player themselves selects from a bunch of cities on the map (marked in muted gray) the one they want to include in the game, and only after that passengers will start gathering there. - Speedrun. A variation of "Discover the World", but the main task will be to complete it in time. Accordingly, the main parameter in the leaderboard will be completion time, not the number of points scored.
These are just some of our ideas regarding monthly game modes. If players especially like one of them, we will make it available on a permanent basis or repeat it as part of the monthly schedule.
We also plan to work on optimizing the game and improving pathfinding algorithms. In fact, both tasks are intertwined and require an integrated approach. Such improvements can take many months of hard work, so we are not ready to name exact ETAs yet.
DLC with the United States of America
We expect to make a DLC dedicated to the USA as a separate product. Firstly, this is logical, since it will be necessary to create a separate map, scenarios, balance and change the logic of some game processes. Secondly, this way we will get financial opportunities to further support the game (see the above-described new modes and work on optimization/improvement of algorithms).
What to expect from the expansion?
We would like to implement the ability to unlock each existing state, and make a unique visual representation of each of them. Probably, we will also have to rework the parameters of the aircraft capacity (and maybe even add helicopters?), change the balance of the game in general. As in the original game, we would like to have both the "Unlock all States" mode and Scenarios in which various unusual situations would be played out.

Major update 1.4 - new balance of "Discover the World" and new localizations!
Major changes:
- New balance of the "Discover the World" mode. We tried to make it more enjoyable and interesting. By "more enjoyable" we mean a changed income curve, prices for opening new countries and building routes. In the previous version of the game, the number on the balance is often more than tens and hundreds of millions. In the new one, you will have to operate with smaller numbers, and this is much more convenient.
Along with the rebalance, we completely reset the leaderboards and deleted all saves made in the previous version of this game mode (this is a forced step, since the changes in the balance are too big to be able to load old saves). As a tribute to our loyal players, we leave access to the old leaderboards in the game. So you don't have to worry about your high score going into oblivion.
- The option to start the "Discover the World" mode from a random country. Attention! This option is only suitable for experienced players, as the difficulty from the very beginning of the game can be significantly higher due to large territories. For those who are not ready to restart due to randomness, we recommend playing the classic version starting from Germany. - The option to turn off the automatic panning of the camera to a crowded city. Now it is replaced by arrows with a timer; they show in which direction the crowded city is. The option is in the game settings.
- The option to turn off messages that the city is almost full. This option will appeal to those who find such messages annoying. - Two new languages have been added - Vietnamese and Arabic. And this time, the introduction of a new language turned out to be a very difficult task. After all, in Arabic, the text is written from right to left! Buttons, signatures, numbers - all this shifted, mixed up, and confusion reigned on the screen. We had to change the logic of the interface, edit many elements, manually separate the numbers (after all, unlike the text, they are written from left to right). In general, the amount of work turned out to be much more than we expected. But we hope that our efforts were not in vain, and this will allow native speakers of these two languages to play our game with ease.
- New balance of the "Loan payment", "Continents" and "Long distances" scenarios. The first scenario, in which the balance periodically goes into the negative, was too easy. Now it can be determined as a medium-difficulty scenario. "Long distances" and "Continents" on the contrary were made easier, since in the previous version after rewriting the algorithm for calculating the cost of tickets they were unbeatable. However, these two scenarios still remain quite difficult, as they were originally intended.
Other changes:
- Fixed a bug that caused passengers to be generated at a very high rate in some cities after loading a save. - Fixed button overlaps and UI issues at different resolutions. - Fixed a bug where players' score points that were too high could overlap the edge of the user scenario card. - Fixed a bug that prevented the "Active Pause" achievement from being unlocked. - Fixed the display of events on the editor timeline. Previously, if there were too many events, they would stop being displayed. - You can no longer earn achievements in the tutorial. - If you upgrade an overcrowded city while paused, the camera will no longer move to it after you unpause the game. - Removed a small visual bug in the free play progress bar in the dark theme. - Removed a bug that caused the pause button to turn black if you changed the game language while paused. - Other minor fixes.

We invite you to the open beta test of a new major update!
Before releasing the next update, we would like to first know the opinion of players who want to participate in testing. Without exaggeration, this is one of the most important updates this year. There are quite a few changes, but in this post we will dwell in more detail on what we would like to hear your opinion about in the first place.
New balance of "Discover the World" and "Free play"
We completely rebalanced both modes. We did not like the way the cost of tickets was calculated before as it was somewhat chaotic. Now, this value changes smoothly.
Next, a little about how the calculations happen "under the hood". The more territories are unlocked, the more the costs of supporting the infrastructure are. This is reflected in the ticket price. For example, for delivering a passenger from point A to point B, when 1 territory is unlocked, you get a little more than when 10 territories are unlocked. However, in general, due to the constantly increasing passenger flow, you still earn more and more money in total. If we did not change the ticket price, the amount earned would quickly exceed all conceivable limits - hundreds of trillions.
The cost of unlocking new territories and the cost of creating routes at later stages of the game were reduced. Now the numbers are more convenient to operate.
It also became possible to start the run of "Discover the World" from a random territory. This option is more suitable for experienced players, since it is almost always more difficult to play than in a compact European region. But at the start, you are given twice as much money.
Try the new balance and share your opinion. We worked on it for a really long time, and it is important for us to know that our efforts were not in vain.

This option will appeal to those who find such messages annoying.
New languages - Arabic and Vietnamese
If you know one of these languages, we would be grateful if you let us know about any mistakes you notice. However, we tried to make high-quality professional translations and refactored the interface so that the new languages are displayed correctly in the game.
Many minor edits
In addition, we fixed the bugs found before and made minor changes to the game. The full list will be published when the update is released for public access to everyone.
We are starting testing in a closed branch of Steam. To switch to the test branch on Steam, find the game in your library, right-click on it and select "Properties" in the context menu. There, go to the "Betas" tab and enter the code flycorppublictest. After that, you will be able to switch to the closed test branch public_test in the list above.
Attention! Do not forget to switch back to the default branch after you finish inspecting the test branch, otherwise you will not receive fresh game updates in the future, which are published in the default branch.

You may have noticed that we have taken a short break from releasing updates. The thing is that we have spent a lot of time on the new balance for the "Discover the World" and "Free Play" modes. We tried to make it more enjoyable and interesting. By "more enjoyable" we mean an adjusted income curve, prices for unlocking new countries and building routes. In the current version of the game, the account balance is often tens and a hundreds of millions. In the new one, you will have to operate with smaller numbers, and this is much more convenient. Soon you will be able to see this for yourself, since we will soon launch an open beta test on a separate Steam branch.
Along with the rebalance, we will completely reset the leaderboard. However, as a tribute to our loyal players, we leave access to the old leaderboard in the game. So, there is no need to worry about your high score going into oblivion. Instead, roll up your sleeves and get ready for new heights!
We decided to listen to the players and implement two wishes that have been popular in the community for a long time. Version 1.3.2 - important bugfixes
A new version of Fly Corp 1.3.2 has been released on Steam with important bugfixes.
The most important thing is that we discovered a bug due to which, when an active or passive pause was turned on, the “life” timers of cities continued to count down. This meant that the more the player paused the game, the greater the passenger flow in the cities was. Consequently, the difficulty of the game increased significantly. This problem has now been fixed.
The full list of fixes: - Now, after creating your new scenario, you will return to the private scenarios tab, not public ones; - Fixed a bug with the random event effect duration bar not automatically collapsing. The bug occurred when, at the moment of a new event with an effect, this notification was maximized; - Fixed a bug where the bar for the number of passengers at the airport did not correspond to their actual number when the game was paused; - Fixed a bug which sometimes caused connected cities to show as non-connected in Statistics; - Fixed a bug with the disappearance of the passenger list from the city window when it was upgraded during an active pause.

New logic for calculating ticket prices - say hello to update 1.3!
The main change in the new version is a change in the algorithm for calculating the cost of tickets. The fact is that previously it was more profitable to build long routes and send passengers along non-optimal routes. Now, when a passenger lands at their destination, you will always receive income based on the distance between the departure city and the final city (not including transfers). This opens up more opportunities to use a variety of viable tactics when building your transportation network.
The difficulty of the existing scenarios has not changed for the most part. However, we have slightly adjusted the “Discover the World” mode - it has become more difficult when many countries have already been opened (more than 90).
The following changes have also been made: - added the ability to upgrade the country’s airports from the statistics menu, even if it is in quarantine; - in the user scenario settings, the minimum city population slider limit has been increased to one million; - information about the city name is now showed on the penalty for overflowing it all the time the penalty is active, even if the city is no longer overcrowded; - fixed possible playback of game session sounds after returning to the main menu; - if there is the last parameter left in the Ladder Mode for improvement, then it will be centered in the stage completion screen.

Fly Corp has become our most highly rated game yet, and we've been supporting it for several years. However, some players want something new, but with the same catchy and "addicting" game mechanics. So, we have been developing a new game in the economic strategy genre called Check Inn for quite some time. We are sure that if you like Fly Corp, then you definitely need to take a look at Check Inn!
This time, we will build hotels. We start with the cheapest, somewhere in the American wilderness. We build different rooms, trying to satisfy varied needs of guests (each guest wants a specific room!); we upgrade elevators so that visitors get to the necessary floors; We hire maids and managers to automate some of our tasks. The flow of guests is constantly increasing and we need to accommodate everyone on time.

We are not stopping making the game even better. Update 1.2.3 contains significant changes to the balance of the Ladder mode and introduces many fixes.
Based on your numerous requests, we have reworked the balance of the Ladder mode so that with each newly unlocked territory, the income received from ticket sales does not decrease so much. In previous versions, a completely working tactic was long development within several territories, and then unlocking the number of territories necessary for victory at once. It will now be more profitable to expand into new territories when the opportunity arises.
Also in this update: - Active pause is now toggled with Space key, and speed can be changed with Enter - Save file from a custom scenario is now also deleted when the scenario is deleted, not only when it's altered - Fixed the logics of getting back to the tabs that were opened before after finishing custom scenarios - Fixed minor sorting bugs of custom scenarios - Added confirmation for leaving the game session - Fixed a bug with the Transport Hub achievement - Fixed layout of Scenario Finish screen in 3440x1440 resolution - Fixed a bug with Ebola event - Removed "Load game" button from loss screen in "Discover the World" mode.
