Forgetful Dictator is now free! (Plus big update!)
Forgetful Dictator is now free on all platforms! This was a little side project I hadn't touched in a while, but I decided to go back, polish it up, and make it free. Thanks everyone for the support! The Steam version will come first, then I'll update the mobile versions soon after.

I've added 150 more trivia questions to the pool.
Difficulty has been reworked, simply because the base game was too hard. Now the default game mode features an autocomplete field for entering countries and capitals. Multichoice questions have been reduced down from four options to three. In addition, you can now "Abandon" a country if you're stuck. You won't get points for conquering them, but you'll be able to progress. The hardcore difficulty mode is what the standard game was before, requiring the player to spell each country and with four multichoice options for questions.
The extra game options, such as Upside-down mode, are now their own game challenges rather than add-ons.
The scoring system has been overhauled. The previous version has a system of combos and combo breaking, which was a bit confusing and not in the spirit of the game. Now you get your score after the game is finished, with bonuses based on the game mode and remaining resources.
There's been a myriad of smaller changes, bug fixes, and minor additions.

After almost a year Forgetful Dictator is now on mobile. Big thanks to all the supporters!
The mobile version is feature complete and identical to the PC version but optimized for touchscreens. It has no advertisements or in-app purchases. You can find it here:
This update hopefully fixes a crash and achievement error that was occurring with the Steam version. Please let me know if you are still having trouble with crashes and achievements after this patch.
Practice Mode, New Trivia, and More Added in Patch 1.2
Ahead of the Android and iOS release I've squeezed in some nice new features, such as a practice mode and a rework of the Ask the Army system. The price of the game has been dropped by around 33% for most regions.
Features: -Added a practice mode! -Ask The Army has been reworked. Instead of a multichoice question, it is now a random 50/50 roll to conquer the country. You can now use Ask the Army on Dino-conquered countries and countries you've already visited
Tweaks: -Labels have been further improved for readability and neatness -Country border colours have been changed to make them a little more visible -The basic white triangle on the UI has been improved with a nice chevron icon -It is now slightly easier to get medals in the West-Central Asia mode, and slightly harder for Africa (due to size imbalance). -Added shadows to the flags options in flag mode -Made it slightly easier to see the required Mission countries when they're highlighted with the "Find" button -Improved the look of the menu buttons -Settings menu has be cleaned up somewhat
Trivia: -20 new general trivia questions have been added -The Oman Dino question has been changed, the old one was unclear -Simplified a question about the Dead Sea -Fixed a question about Laos which had an incorrect follow-up comment
New Missions, Faster Games, and More in Patch 1.11
Features: -Added three new country groups to conquer in missions: NATO members, Summer Olympic Hosts, and Commonwealth Nations -Trivia and flag questions no longer interrupt the game by taking control of the camera -You can now see the names of countries you have already conquered in Countries mode -Dino countries now have animated outlines so you see them more clearly
Fixes: -If you have already completed a mission when you select it, you will now be immediately awarded that mission -Some loading tips have been updated -Cleaned up the labels in the Balkans and North Africa so they're easier to read -Fixed a bug where the game could get stuck after completing a mission -Fixed a bug where highlighted mission countries wouldn't change colour when selected

New Features, More Trivia, and a Sale!

Trivia question cycling: -The game now cycles through every trivia question, remembering which you have already encountered between games. This should reduce repeats.
Other features and improvements: -Added support for mobile. A mobile port is on the way! -Updated to a more recent version of Unity, paving the way for more features and optimisation -Added option to disable Post Processing (vignette and bloom) which may slow down some machines. -To streamline the UI, the "Click to find Remaining Countries" button now replaces the "Select a highlighted country" prompt when only a few countries remain. -The "Find Next Mission Country" button has been replaced with a toggle that highlights the required countries -Windows icon has been updated -The Mission panel has been visually cleaned up. -There was a bug preventing achievements and medals from being awarded. This has since been hotfixed.

Trivia: -Added 34 new Dino trivia questions for the Americas, one for each country.

HOTFIX UPDATE: There was an issue where Steam couldn't find the .exe file in this patch. This has since been fixed in a small update but please let me know if anyone has any more problems.
UI Improvements and a Skip Dialogue Option Added in 1.05
Apologies for the slow update. I've been moving house and only just got my internet back! No trivia questions this time, but here's a few UI improvements. I also added an option to skip extraneous dialogue.
