Have you been wanting to test the strengths and weaknesses of each Turret? Or were you just looking for an easy map to get into the game? The Firing Range allows you to practice your tactics before getting into one of the more challenging maps.


We've also noticed some of our controls weren't very clear to players, so we've added in some go to information about how you can, for example, rotate structures.


This update also adds in a very simple loading screen, which shows you some background information about the Invasion of Kardastan and the different factions involved.

Patch V0.3.3



Our new and improved controls make it very easy to manually select enemy targets and also allow you to select multiple Turrets at the same time. Here's an overview of how the new controls work.

Leftclick, hold and drag opens up a selection box. You can also hold CTRL and leftclick to select multiple Turrets. Doubleclick any Turret to select all Turrets of that type (for example: all of your Howitzers).

With one or more Turrets selected, rightclick an enemy unit to target it. The unit will be marked and remembered, even if the unit is still out of range. The enemy target will be prioritized over any other target.


We've also added in voice-over lines for Structure select, target select, target out of range, structure lost and life lost. Voice actors Mitch Xander and Michael Malconian have done a terrific job bringing these United Coalition Force characters to life.

This update brings in a new level: Farm Fields. Nestled in the heart of the Pashmal region, these farms yield some of the most valuable crops in the country. This heavily cultivated area has become a hotspot for RFA activities. Your task is to establish a bridgehead along the river and prevent the RFA from exploiting the surrounding crops.


This update also adds completely new foliage to some of our maps. You'll find lush new trees, bushes and plants in Valley Village, Lost Outpost, Highway of Death and Oasis.

Patch V0.3.2

This patch brings in a new map: Oasis. Fight for control over a scarce source of water in an otherwise arid landscape. Local merchants have settled around three small lakes. Maintain control over this valuable area. Be aware hostile units may arrive from multiple directions.

Patch V0.3.1

The update brings in new enemy vehicles: tanks. The patch also includes user interface sound effects and improved UI for the target prioritization modes, as well as a number of bug fixes.

Patch V0.3.0

Patch 0.3.0 is live! This update brings in several new features and includes a new map: Container Terminal.


One of the most requested features so far was the ability to save your progress. We've added in a new Load Game Menu that allows you to continue playing from any Wave you've completed. We've also added Steam Cloud support which means you can continue playing from any PC. If you wish to disable the autosave feature, you can do so from the Settings Menu.


We've improved the Level Menu to give you a better preview of what kind of map you'll be playing. This menu also gives you some background information about the map. More features will be added to this menu later on, like a progression and/or unlock system, so this menu is still work-in-progress.


Difficulty settings will now allow you to select from three different modes: Easy, Regular and Hard. Easy difficulty will make the game feel more like a sandbox, where enemy units no longer deal a lot of damage. Hard mode is for veteran players, who want some extra challenge. It's not recommended for novice players. We're very open to feedback on these difficulty settings.


The latest map for Forward Defense is Container Terminal. This map has you defending a large container port. This is one of the biggest maps we've added so far next to Desert Base and Baghmar Airport, and forces you to spread out your defensive structures while keeping and eye out for your flanks.
