Test build
Hello everyone,
We had released one update (v0.943Beta) in the Test build, where most of the bugs which were because of saves (like changing location whenever load game, 1 health, failed quests, prisoners attempts don't update, etc.) are fixed. But it's recommended to start a new game if your old saves are broken.
We don't put this version to the main build because it still has some small bugs, so we will keep it in the Test build until we make sure it has no big bugs.
Today or tomorrow we will release another update in the Test build, where will add some new small features, more details about this update we will announce later.
So if you want to help us with testing or just try new features, just switch to the test build.π
To Opt Into the Test branch.
Launch the Steam Client. Go to the LIBRARY tab. Right click on Freeman: Guerrilla Warfare and select Properties. Then click the BETAS tab. Then select "test-Test Version" from the drop-down and close the window. Then update the game and you are ready to go. You can opt out at any time to get the default version of the game.
About the floating bug situation
Dear community,
In the recent build some people have encountered the floating in the sky bug after loading the game. Many people start to help us figure out why the bug could happen but some people just start to blame us how we dare to release such a broken version without testing it. So I want to clear the situation.
1. We always test the game for at least a few days in both builds, developers build in unity and steam build.
2. If we get any game breaking bug we will definitely not release it in the main build.
3. As soon as we got this bug reported, we were working nonstop and even didn't sleep just to fix it as quickly as possible.
4. We couldn't test this bug by ourselves that's why it took much longer time than usual to fix this bug, but anyway we were trying and releasing many builds to test it with the community.
5. We are very sorry for people who got this bug and couldn't play for these two days and we totally understand how frustrating it can be.
Why this bug happened not for everyone:
It is because for some reasons some computers will have a wrong float saved to the save file and then after loading the game the player will spawn in the sky or somewhere else. We have fixed this bug from the saving point of view but if your old saves are already corrupted, the game will automatically reset your location.
I just really wish our community can understand this kind of situations for the future and be more friendly, as we are really trying our best. And also want to thank people who supported us and help to test, it increases our productivity a lot.π

Update v0.94 Group combat, combat AI and game balance.
Hi everyone,
We have released version 0.94. We have added many things and made many adjustments in this build. The major changes are as follows.
-Group Combat: Your companion generals and allies will join your combat when near and enemy armies nearby will also join combat as reinforcement.
-Added trading convoy: You will see trading convoys on the world map and you can rob them.
-Added auto-equip function (Automatically pick up the most suitable weapons and armors for your squad members)
-Added auto-refill squad function (Automatically refill your squad with unassigned units)
-Added all-attack and all-go-to commands for companions for the player to quickly order companion generals to attack a city or gather near a city.
-Added the faction's military strength and finance chart for the player to easily compare each faction's performance.
-Added quick-sell-junk function.
-Optimized the Party UI's refreshing speed and the combat map spawning speed. (Fixed the frequent memory leak during spawning of soldiers).
-Added the mayor system(AI factions and you can assign generals as mayor of a city. Mayors will auto-manage the city, build and fix buildings and recruit garrison).
-Optimized enemy AI (Now they can flank you, charge at you and so on).
-Balanced the game (Added more low-level enemies and balanced the economy and difficulty).
-Balanced the looting system(During a joint operation, you can only get your share if you contribute)
-Save all status of AI armies (For example, when the enemies are sieging your city or in combat, all these status will be saved if you load the game).
-Added different difficulty levels.
We have also fixed many bugs, a few major ones are as follows.
-Disappearing inventory items after load.
-Items won't disappear after delivering a collecting mission.
-You will get a city after helping a faction attacking the city.
-Game frequently crashes during deployment phrase or managing squads.
-Disappearing mercenary camp after some time during the game.
-Key-mapping gets reset to none if you have corrupted save file bug.
For the next build, we will keep working on a few new features and keep polishing the current ones. We will keep improving game balance, player experience, sound effects, and UI.

1. Companion System
Companions like Anna can be hired from town pubs or captured in battles. We added personality dialogues to each of our companions. Through dialogue, you can get interesting information about their background stories, personalities, hobbies and so on. At the same time, players can improve their friendliness by chatting with them and giving them gifts. Enhanced friendliness can unlock more conversations and interactions - such as love. We added the gift shop, and players need to discover each companion's preferences through dialogue in order to buy the right gifts. Except for these entertaining interactions, companions are also of great significance to the game-play itself. You can organize them into your own team like soldiers, or you can make them independent from you and let them lead their own army, helping you to attack and defend cities. Each companion has different skills. Some are suitable for combat, some are suitable for leading, and some are suitable for managing towns. These skills include leadership, tactics, financial skills, town management and so on. Different companions have different requirements for joining, some need a large commission, some requires a high reputation. After the campaign is complete, each companion will also have a corresponding ending. The stories are only 20% done, and we will keep working on it.
2. Enhanced world map faction AI
The AI faction forces will do more complex things. For example, to gather troops to attack a city in a group, to reconnoiter the enemy city, to revenge when their cities are taken, and so on.
3. Improved Soldier Customization System
More proficiency attributes have been added, such as grenade launcher, throwing and armor proficiency. At the same time, the accessory slots are added, which can be used to equip grenade launchers, first-aid kits, night vision goggles and grenades to soldiers.
4. Added a number of bandit factions
- Desert Bandits: Appear In the desert zone of Cherniv.
- Mountain Bandits: They appear in the southern mountains.
- Pirates: Appear near the coast.
- Cossack Rebels: On the territories of the Free Cossack Army.
- Snow Wolves: Appear in the northern snowland.
5. Added the beginning background selection
Players need to determine their initial attributes, equipment and troops in the form of questionnaires when starting a new campaign.
6. Improved World Map
We expanded the world map and made clear geographical distinctions. The southern part of Cherniv Island consists of plains, peninsulas and mountains. The central part is desertification zone. The northwest part is snowland. And the northeast part is forest and swamp.
7. The game's lore.
Based on the current lore, we have written Cherniv's history, the background stories of various factions and the corresponding stories of each companion.
8. Optimize the combat frame-rate
In previous versions, players reported significant frame drops during combat. We have a series of optimization for this problem. The frame rate in combat is greatly increased. At the same time, we also added the V-sync option, which can turn on and off in the settings panel.
