Dev Update - June 12th

Hey everyone, Dev Update!

Just a little update about the next update. Since releasing Call To Arms Part I, we've had to scale back our efforts to take a small break for ourselves and we've had time to reconsider how we will be approaching our future plans. First, we're going to be pushing back the content we were planning to release this month to a later point for now, but we're doing this to ensure we're delivering a satisfying content update that comes with as little issues as possible, and so that we have time to improve other areas that need attention as well. So you can expect the features we had planned and more for the next content update.

Before then, we want to prioritise controller support and localisation so we can broaden our player base and bring more players into our community in time for the next content update. We believe bringing full controller support can come with many opportunities such as putting our game on the Steam Deck and even porting to consoles one day.

This means there will be a shift in all future plans we originally had but we'll touch more on that at a later point in time. Thanks for all the support everyone, we'll share our progress soon!

FURTIVE v0.2.1 - Call To Arms Update Fixes

Hello everyone, we've just deployed a patch that fixes a range of issues found in the Call To Arms Part I update. There's more patches to come as we learn about these issues, please let us know if you experience any we might not have heard about yet.

Fixes

  • Buffed the HV-1 winch strength and increased it's maximum length.
  • Optimised health code to minimise game freezing on death.
  • Fixed a bug where the third person's gun model parts and muzzle flashes would be rendered in the first person camera after exiting a vehicle.
  • Fixed a bug where the mission to steal a HV-1 was not completable and caused the game to stop working correctly.
  • Fixed the road collisions near the outpost that leads to the main facility bridge.
  • Fixed NavMesh around the fortresses so soldiers and animals are no longer able to spawn or walk inside the walls.
  • Fixed a bug where the HV-1 was still drive-able after it had run out of fuel.
  • Adjusted helicopter spawnrate to be slightly less frequent.
  • Helicopter will now flee if it is unsuccessful in finding players after a while.
  • Adjusted textures on Chris Roberts and Aaron Roberts default and survivor outfits, as well as all Corocotta disguises to prevent them clipping in the camera.
  • The fortress floors now give the correct footstep sound effects.

Thanks everyone!

CALL TO ARMS PART I - MAY 28th

CALL TO ARMS PART I. Kicking off on May 28th in Steam's Open World Survival Craft Fest.

We've had to split May's update in half due to the scope of update creeping higher than we initially intended, the second half will be coming around 3 weeks or so after the first part releases.

Part I Features: Weapon Attachments, HV-1 Winch, Melee Weapon/Tool Degradation and Repairing, Workbench V2, New Map Points of Interest, 60 Steam Achievements, New Unlockable Character Outfits.

Part II Features (Coming Soon): New Village NPC that provides Raid Missions quests, HV-1 Refueling, Weather System, Map Locations Markers and Craftable Waypoint Markers.

Both parts will also feature some bug fixes and improvements.

See you all soon!

Weapon Attachments & New Locations

Another look into our upcoming 'CALL TO ARMS' content update. Here's your first look at weapon attachments, through the new Workbench you will be able to equip different sights, silencers and more to your firearms for certain tactical advantages.

Another improvement also being made to firearms is we've taken out the walking animation while aiming down sights to keep the weapon steady, we're also lowering the FOV while aiming which will significantly improve the ADS experience when using the firearms.

In case you missed our last couple of posts, the new workbench as seen above will be replacing the current workbench. It will replace the crafting UI with a new one that is more similar to the inventory's crafting UI. It will also feature 2 other pages in the UI for setting weapon attachments and repairing damaged tools.

We're adding more improvements and locations to the map. The new update will see some small little additions to the world that will give the island some more life, as well as new point of interest locations. These locations include 2 new fuel depots which will tie into the new raid missions, and also be a place to steal fuel from for your HV-1's.

More to share soon! Cheers.

First Look Into CALL TO ARMS

Here's a peak into the CALL TO ARMS update!

We've heard a lot of people getting their HV-1 stuck too often, so today we present a new modification to the vehicle. The winch! Hook it up to a nearby tree and wind yourself in to get the vehicle unstuck.

I'd also like to show improvements made to the weapon UI that shows the ammunition type for the currently held firearm and melee weapon/tool degradation health status.

We're also bringing 60 new steam achievements with this update, here's a little peak into my folder with some of the artworks.

We've got heaps more to show off soon as we get closer to the release of this update, at the moment we're aiming for the end of the month to have it out.

FURTIVE v0.1.6

Release Notes

  • Client players can now interact ride in the HV-1 as passenger, currently only hosting player can drive the vehicle. We are still fixing an issue with the client's ability to drive the vehicle.
  • Save file stability in new updates has been improved with a new save file upgrading function in the save system.
  • Breaking tree stumps will no longer break multiplayer sessions.
  • Items near other players no longer glow for the local player.
  • Interaction range has been slightly increased so players can pick up items and interact with objects from a slightly further distance.
  • Characters will now properly unlock when the player using them disconnects, leaving the character free to be chosen by the next joining player.
  • Fixed corrupted metal axe icon in the equipped weapon display on the bottom right corner of screen.

Another issue we have recently picked up is the save and load system won't consistently load players back into their position they saved in, instead just go back to spawn. We're investigating the cause for this, but other than that everything else loads correctly.

Upcoming Content Sneak Peak.

Let's take a peak into what's coming soon this year. We'd like to share what we are bringing to the game in May's update and give a little tease to what will be happening in August.

CALL TO ARMS - May Content/Quality of Life Update
This update plans to include a complete rework to the Workbench, improving it's UI and functionality. This station will not only be used for crafting anymore, it will now also be used for repairing weapons/tools as we plan to introduce degradation, and last but not least, customising firearm attachments. Firearms will receive a range of attachments to apply improvements on your selected firearm.

Map Location Markers. Newly discovered locations will become marked on the player's GPS to help with familiarising yourself with the map as you discover it. Player's will also be able to craft waypoint markers to drop behind in locations they wish to remember to come back to, such as bases.

Raid Missions. We plan to introduce a new NPC in the night crawler group at the active night villages. Offering rewards for completing small strike missions to cripple The Corocotta and help the group with their needs. Rewards will include gold, xp and any loot you obtain from the mission.

There's a lot more to coming with this update that we'll go into more detail on as we get closer. These are just some of the main highlights.

VERDANT SECTOR - August Content Expansion
We've also begun early production on August's major content update. We call this an expansion as we plan to expand the map in a pretty big and unconventional way, with plenty of interesting areas to explore, new missions to do, new weapons to obtain, new enemies to face, and more. We'll touch more on this a little bit later.

Can't wait to share more of the upcoming content with you all. Massive thank you to everyone for the incredible support in our first few weeks of launch!

FURTIVE v0.1.5 Patch Release

  • Added buoyancy to items in lakes, which should rectify the issue of not being able to pick up items under water. Items can be picked up once they have surfaced.

FURTIVE v0.1.4 Patch Release

Release Notes

  • Fixed Save Loading not loading save files properly, saves should no longer load without trees in the world. The cause was rooted to a wildlife loading issue which broke the load cycle, all has now been resolved.

  • Fixed more UI Icons being corrupted.

Missed In Last Hotfix Notes
