In this announcement I would like to address a mistake I have made with Galactic Lander's galactic mission.
Due to a critical error on my part, there was a bug which failed to grant the player the new galactic mission-themed ship skin upon completion.
Although this bug has been now fixed in the latest patch, I feel saddened that most players up until now were not able to properly experience the completion of the Galactic Mission.
Therefore, as compensation for those who have missed out, the Halloween Galactic Mission will run for two days longer than initially announced (now ending at the first of November) to allow previous players who experienced the bug the time and opportunity to complete the Galactic Mission properly.
Thank you for your understand, and have fun!

Inverting Controls
Hello!
Today's small patch added the option to invert controls for players that would like to play inverted, as suggested by a fellow player.
I tried it and it felt like I was playing the game as a beginner again.
The option is toggle-able under the 'other' tab in the settings menu.
Good game, and have fun to all!

The Halloween Galactic Mission Is Live!
Welcome!
It is time for me at announce the beginning of the Halloween Galactic Mission update for Galactic Lander!
What Is A Galactic Mission?
A galactic mission is a free bonus mission which players can take part in, either alone or in co-op mode.
Players who complete the Galactic Mission will be rewarded that Galactic Mission's stylized ship skin, which they can play around with in singleplayer or show off to their friends in co-op mode.
How Long Will This Galactic Mission Last?
The Halloween Galactic Mission begins today (24/10/2018) and will remain open until Halloween (30/10/2018), giving everybody a fair chance to take part in the mission event.
I plan to introduce plenty more Galactic Mission in the future, and I look forward to seeing everyone crashing into walls and spikes- with spooky Halloween-themed ship skins!
Good luck, and have fun!

Temporary Custom Workshop Previews Workaround
Hello!
Lately we have discovered a bug caused by Unity's IL2CPP which causes Galactic Lander to crash upon trying to select a custom workshop preview for a level in the level editor.
Unfortunately, while we still have not found a solution for this bug, I have come up with a temporary workaround for the issue.
Instead of opening a traditional 'choose file dialog', you must now manually input the full path (plus extension) of the custom preview image.
This isn't desirable, and this will be removed once a permanent fix is found, but until then this workaround will sadly have to stay around.
Thank you for your understanding and patience, and have fun!

Shared-Screen Co-op!
Hello all!
Based on a player's suggestion for the game, I finally finished adding a shared-screen co-op feature, allowing two players to play a co-op level on the same computer without creating a network lobby!
To play together, simply open up either a game-provided co-op or a workshop co-op level and play together with a friend, except this time sitting right next to each other!
More fun and exciting things coming to Galactic Lander soon, stay tuned here on Steam and on our Instagram!
Thanks for reading! Good luck, and have fun!
New Levels And More
Hello!
Today I finally took the time to create a few more levels, simply because the game felt a bit too short and I wanted to add a harder challenge for those who make it their goal to fully complete the entire game.
I have added two more singleplayer levels, and six more co-op levels. Totaling at twenty different singleplayer and co-op levels.
Why Not More?
Creating levels for Galactic Lander is a unique challenge. It requires me to brainstorm and think about new ideas for levels which will be unique enough from other levels, difficult enough so as to not be too simple, and actually fun and enjoyable for the player to play and complete.
I hope this addition of levels will enrich your playing experience and will add more excellent content to the game!
Can't Have An Update Without Fixing Some Bugs
No update is complete without a few bug fixes!
Fixed a bug where sometimes in coop, a landing pad randomly gets captured at the start of the level without the players doing anything, thus requiring only one player to complete the level.
Fixed a minor UI bug in-game where sometimes, at a specific length of text, the vote-status text at the top of the screen would glitch out and look weird.
User Feedback
Game development, especially on the Steam platform has quickly become a strong passion of mine.
Every day, the first chance I get I go to check YouTube for any new gameplay videos of Galactic Lander and I check if there have been any new user-reviews for the game.
Finding new feedback/content from you guys, the community never fails to fill my heart with joy. Thank you!
That's all for today's update! Good game and have fun!
Ghost Replay
Hello!
Yesterday, just out of the blue I thought: 'huh, what if there was a feature in Galactic Lander that allowed you to see you last attempt in a level? Like a ghost version of your last performance...'
Ladies and gentleman, I present the past-attempt-ghost-replay feature! (Which took about five hours to make)
If the ghost ship keeps distracting you from flying, or your jealous of your better past attempts, this feature can be disabled in the 'other' tab of the settings menu!
That is all for today! Thanks for reading, and have fun!
Bugs Hotfix And Nearing Galactic Missions
Hi!
Today's update fixed two bugs, both involving co-op gameplay.
Missiles Synchronzation
When I first started working on co-op for Galactic Lander, I made sure every action in the game was synchronized between clients, missiles also worked back then.
Apparently, something I changed since then has broken missiles again, and I have now fixed the issue.
Landing Pad Capturing Progress
While playing the game, a friend of mine and I discovered that in no-gravity co-op mode, it's impossible to complete a level since you have to stick your ship upside onto the landing pad, but this for some reason did not work in co-op.
In co-op, every player ship except your own gets it's physics disabled, and therefore also it's collisions are disabled (how can you touch something without physics?), and so the landing pad wasn't registering the contact between it and the other player's ship.
I fixed this by correctly synchronizing when each landing pad started or stopped getting captured.
Galactic Missions
The first galactic mission, although still a surprise secret, will start in the next few upcoming weeks! Follow us on Instagram to see when we will post a teaser of the galactic mission!
Thanks for reading, and as always, have fun!
New Update And Official Instagram
Hello all!
Brand-New Instagram!
We have created our very own Instagram! On it, we will occasionally post sneak-peaks and teasers regarding Galactic Lander and Space Fighters!
Follow our Instagram and be in the know about future teasers!
New Update
This update improved some small, already-existing features and fixed a bug where the lobby browser would unnecessarily refresh every two seconds.
In addition, I have added a small and obscure button on the main menu in order to refresh the UI in case something unexpected goes wrong.
Finally, the update further makes preparations for future 'Galactic Missions' to be able to take place. I anticipate Galactic Missions to be fully integrated in the game within the next 1-2 days. (although the first Galactic Mission won't begin until a few more weeks, stay tuned for news about that!)
First Gameplay Video!
One of my biggest wish or 'landmark' in my Steam-indie-game-developing adventure is for my game to be reviewed and to be able to hear feedback from the community.
Yesterday, that wish was granted when Press Start To Begin published a full 10-minute gameplay video of Galactic Lander! I was very excited and happy to see my very own game getting recognition on a platform such as YouTube.
That is all for today's announcement! Don't forget to follow Galactic Lander on Steam to be in the know about future awesome announcements!
Patch Update
Hello!
After a few days of hard work since the last patch update, I have patched some more relatively minor bugs and fixes. Although most of the work I do on Galactic Lander at this time goes towards preparing for the galactic missions coming soon.
On Another Note...
Almost every day I check up on Galactic Lander. I visit the Steam workshop, check the forum discussions for any new threads, and I even check the store page to see if any new user reviews were written for Galactic Lander.
I especially love to read the user-reviews because it allows me to listen to the community in one of the best ways possible. It makes me happy to see positive reviews, obviously because it shows me people enjoy my game; and I look forward to reading negative reviews so that I could see where I could improve.
