This update adds new content to the Lagoon garden, as well as some other changes
Expanded Payson’s quest line:
After waking them from their stupor, and waiting 3 days in the lagoon garden, Payson will send you on a quest to rebuild their ship. To do so you will need to collect 9 pieces of driftwood scattered across the lagoon.
After completing it, the boat will be free for you to use in the garden. It’s completely controllable, simply select the steering wheel to begin taking control. Controllers don’t work with the boat yet, but will soon.
Added a new enemy: Gobbos to the lagoon. They spawn rarely in the water at night, and drop the various sea food they eat on the ocean floor when slain.
Other:
Direwolves will now spawn in the meadow at night after you’ve completed Rosie’s quest line
Rosie’s wolf attack quest will no longer count as a normal night. The campfire event won’t trigger, and the day count will not increase after finishing it
The building spawn menu buttons will no longer auto scroll when clicking on them with a mouse (will still do so when using a controller)
Fixed a bug where you couldn’t pick up Payson’s green drink
Fixed a bug where in some resolutions the black loading screen wouldn’t completely cover the scene
This update marks the 2nd year anniversary of Garden Mooj’s early access release, and it's been a pretty fun year for working on the game.
It’s a good time to give an update on future plans. I still have another quest with Payson to do before wrapping up the Lagoon garden. After that remains the conclusion to the game after opening that ominous locked door.
So as you can see the game is not out of early access just yet. We’ll see how much still needs to be done in another 2 months or so.

Jumping now has a slight buffer time where you can queue up your jump before you reach the ground

Added a moon to the realm of competition
Fixed a bug where pausing the game while in a conversation would lock you out of dialogue options

Spring Update
Hey everyone,
another update here. Introducing the new lagoon NPC. Also making underwater dives more realistic, and some other minor stuff.
An old sailor has washed up off the coast of the Lost Lagoon. You’ll need to find a way wake them up to find out what happened to them.
Going underwater now tints your vision based on the color of the water
Fixed a bug where selecting the fermenting barrel in the building panel would spawn an item holder indicator
Cleaned up the building panel, text should fit better and the scroll bar is clamped better
Buttons in the mooj free race panel should be correctly masked inside the panel now
Fixed some rocks in the Lost Lagoon that weren’t being collided with

March Update
Hey everyone,
This update completes Lola's main quest line and also some other things. Lola doesn't have as many quests as Rosie, but their friendship mechanic means you'll still need to spend at least a couple days in the cavern to finish the quest. Recalling mooj from other gardens feels very useful, as previously the only way to move them was to bring them through the portals by hand, one-by-one.
- Can now instantly recall mooj from other gardens in the mooj-recaller. This makes moving your mooj across gardens much less tedious
- Lola has a new quest. To complete it you must survive an extended night time onslaught, where you will encounter a new enemy.
- Lola now has a friendship mechanic. You gain friendship by gifting items to them in their basket. Only certain items will be accepted, all of which are obtained within the cavern. In order to begin their final quest your friendship must be at 9 or above.
- Added golems to the caverns. They begin appearing in the caverns at night after starting Lola's new quest. They summon explosive rocks and will drop a new food item: rock muffins.
- After competing the new quest, the cavern shop will be upgraded to include 7 new egg colors:
White
Black
Rose
Purple
Baby Blue
Grey
Aquamarine
- Lola now has a bunch of random chit-chat dialogues that they cycle through each day, like Rosie.
- Removed the ability to sell items at the mooj statue altar. Now only the chest by shops will allow you to sell items
- The mooj naming panel will now always have the correct rotation when picking newly hatched mooj up - Mooj eggs now have a more fitting icon - Evolution particles will no longer render over item sprites - Fixed a bug where recalling a sleeping mooj would cause the sleeping particles to remain on while they’re awake - Fixed some icons in dialogue text that weren’t aligned with the text properly - Fixed a bug where leaving the meadow during the campfire event would prevent enemies from spawning in other gardens - Fixed some animations that are unstable over long periods of time (naming panel text / mooj), (main menu title animations)
- Fixed a bug where Lola’s quest status might have been overriding Rosie’s. This might have the consequence of reverting Lola’s first quest back to incomplete if it was completed on a previous version. Sorry for anyone that’s affected by this.
We are approaching the 2 year anniversary of the game's early access release, which is also the soft deadline of my last release date estimate. I don't believe I am too far off from finishing the main story, but there are still elements that could use polish and care. My guess is an additional 2-3 months after the anniversary will be needed to transition from early access. There are still bugs that occur, and this time will help with that.

Achievement Update #1
Hey everyone,
Another update here. Sorry for the delay. There are now 20 achievements to collect and some new items as well as bug fixes. This also marks the first update of 2021. Enjoy!
- Added 20 steam achievements to collect. Some of them are able to be achieved retroactively (the ones that would be impossible to get otherwise) when loading a saved game. The most difficult achievement has to be collecting 100 different food, as at the moment with the newly added foods in this update there are exactly 102 types of food in the game.
- The shops in the caverns and the lagoon should now sell unique food items in addition to eggs and tree seeds respectively. The lagoon shop will now only sell one tree seed per day and 2 food items.
- Added the following food items:
Candy : Sold in the cavern shop
Ice Cream : Sold in the cavern shop
Flan : Sold in the cavern shop
Burrito : Sold in the cavern shop
Burger : Sold in the lagoon shop
Waffle : Sold in the lagoon shop
Donut : Sold in the lagoon shop
Sweet Roll : Sold in the lagoon shop
Pear : Found in certain trees in the lagoon
Wisper Saki : Made in the fermenting barrel with wisper tears
- Lowered the drop rate of rare item drops (notably love yams) from 7% to 4% - Lowered the drop rate of ultra rare item drops (party hats) from .7% to .5% - Non-mooj object's white outline has been reduced in width by 50%, matching the width of selected mooj
- Fixed a bug where pausing and unpausing the game could select objects that were otherwise unable to be selected (example: The tollbooth after already paying the toll) - Fixed a bug where shop objects were not being deleted on save deletion

Holiday Update
Hey everyone,
This update brings the third race into the game, adds news hats, adds a race countdown, fixes bugs, as well as makes some small quality of life improvements.
Added the new Holiday Race, it can be played straight from the main menu or from the realm of competition for prizes.
This race is a bit different from the previous 2 races in that mooj are rolling as ragdolls for a majority of the race. This makes it more random but also faster paced than previous races.
Added premade mooj for use in free races. There are 16 colored mooj available with unique stats. To quickly add a mooj to a race just right click
Added 3 new hats as rewards for finishing in the top 3 in the new holiday race: Santa hat, Elf hat, and Reindeer hat
Mooj in the free race selection panel will now be masked if scrolled past the panel
Races now have a countdown sequence before they start
The red gremlins located in the spooky race have had their aggro range lowered, making them less likely to walk off the edge of their cliff
Fixed a bug where pausing and unpausing in the main menu would cause the main menu mooj to play the digging particle effect
Changed the font of the white message text to something cleaner
This update brings the final race, which may be good news to some. More updates are coming. I am looking forward to adding steam achievements and more challenging combat encounters the most. Let me know your comments / feedback / suggestions !

November 20 Update
Hey everyone,
This update adds Lola's first quest in the Twilight caverns. It has you collecting tears from Wispers, the ghostly enemy that spawns in the graveyard at night. It's the first quest that has you collecting multiple of the same item, and is also a bit more difficult, as Wispers spawn in high quantities and attack from far away. The update comes a bit later than I'd like, hopefully the next update will come earlier next month.
- Lola now has another quest to collect Wisper tears. Completing the quest will unlock the ability to make primordial soup in the cooking pot from Wisper tears. The soup has a Val stat of 5 with no Sat, making it somewhat unique
- Added Wisper tears as a drop from Wispers
- The encyclopedia for food items will now correctly display the price food can be sold to a shop for
- Increased the maximum length of the white ID text that appears above objects
- Cherry Pie sprite now has a black outline
- Pausing during a race should no longer hide the cursor on unpause
- The camera in races is smoother when transitioning between waypoints of different height
- Race music will now start at the music volume level set in options
- Enemies defeated in a race should no longer display the encyclopedia unlock notification

Wing Expansion Update
Hey Everyone,
Smaller update this time. Five new wings can be evolved by mooj. Lola now resides inside the Creepy Caverns, no quests yet but they move around the cavern each day.
-Added 5 new Mooj wings that can be evolved in the second evolution. Reworked the way Mooj Wings are chosen at evolution to fit. They still depend on which stat gained the most points since the last evolution, but now each stat has 2 wings depending on if the Moojs' light or dark stat is higher. There are also 2 wings that are exclusive to if a moojs' highest stat is light or dark.
-Lola now inhabits creepy caverns. Quests coming soon
-Fixed a bug where water sound volume was not being set properly -Fixed a bug where Unicorn aspect mooj were causing save issues
The plan is to finish Lola's quest line, then add a third NPC that lives in the Lost Lagoon. As always any bugs or suggestions can be posted in the forms / comments.
