Last update of the year and some important information about the DLCsš„
Hey, Gas Jockeys! ā½
Welcome to the probably last announcement in 2024. Itās hard to believe that weāre already a couple of days away from the end of 2024. It feels like yesterday we announced the Economy Update or Car Junkyard DLC, but time flies as the saying goes.
Today, I thought itās gonna be the perfect time to talk about both the present and the future for your favorite ā Gas Station Simulator. Iām gonna share some information regarding the upcoming updates, DLCs (Shady Deals included), and more. So, grab a drink and snack of your choice, and letās roll š„
Another batch of visual improvements has landed on Route 66 š
Letās kick things off with a little update for the Gas Station Simulator. Some time ago, we did a whole performance and visual revamp for the GSS, but some of the models were still left unchanged simply because they were still a little bit rough around the edges and we needed some additional time to polish them. Fortunately, you donāt have to wait much longer as the update is already available on Steam. Along with that, the cash register also went through some changes mainly introducing some brand-new customization options.
And yes ā we remember about the ability to restock shelves by the employees. Weāre already working on it, but we want to emphasize proper balancing before releasing it to you, hence some additional time is needed.
Changesā»ļø
Base gameā½
Increased distance between Car Parts Truck and other cars to improve traffic.
Cash Register Upgrade: now you can upgrade the cash register on higher leves of Gas Station. You can also customize its colors on the higher levels.

Shelves Revamp: New design and quality bar for shelves of all products.

Drive-In Cinema is coming in Q1, 2025š
Now let's talk about the release date for our upcoming DLCs. After careful consideration we decided to postpone the release of Drive-In Cinema DLC to Q1, 2025. We want to use this additional time to work on some extra features, expand the DLC further, and focus on polishing the stuff that we already have prepared. Sincere apologies and Iām more than open to read your comments down below.
Similar to Drive-In Cinema DLC, weāll be pushing forward the release date of Shady Deals. As this is a more story-focused DLC for the Gas Station Simulator, it requires much more attention than any other DLC that weāve made so far.
Do you have any estimates - you might ask, and honestly you have all the rights to do so. However, with the current state, we canāt share anything apart from coming soon. We simply donāt want to throw any dates until we have the quality that weāre happy with. As soon as that time comes, Iāll be thrilled to reveal more about the Shady Deals, including its release date.
And thatās gonna be it for todayās announcement. Iām more than open to hearing your feedback and thoughts regarding the update and the release dates for the DLCs. Donāt forget that every cloud has a silver lining, and I can say that we have more than one ace up in our sleeves.
Last but not least, as this is (probably) our last announcement before the Christmas break and New Year, on behalf of the entire DRAGO entertainment team, Iād like to wish you a Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays) and a Happy New Year! May this time be filled with joy, love, and the presence of your loved ones around you. Charge up your batteries and welcome the new year with a blast. Here is for even greater 2025 šŗUntil the next devlog!

Patch Notes for Revampš
The goal of the revamp was to fix all the visual defects that had been bothering us for a long time and thus refresh the look and mood of the game. At the same time, we took care of the original feeling of our title. We wanted to make something the same. We just wanted to have our game stay the same but better:) To do that we decided to do a complete rework of a Couple of features:
Foliage
The goal here was to eliminate the unnecessary optimizations we had made in the past and restore the original quality of grasses, cactuses, and all the props that make up a large part of what you see on the monitor.
Landscape
Close-up quality, getting rid of obvious glitches and artifacts. Retaining the color palette and adding features at higher scalability levels
Rocks
We completely replaced every rock in the game. Again, taking care of the color palette, we added and reworked channels to fully use computing power.
Global colors of the project
To the best of our abilities, we went over the entire project, adjusting the colors of the models not only to the color palette of the rest of the game but also to Physically accurate standards of the modern gaming rendering pipeline. This enabled us to bring the details to the places in the game that were previously lacking.
New Lighting and Color grading
The changes were very delicately executed. As mentioned previously. We wanted to retain the original feeling and make things look better at the same time. The point of reference was 12.00. This is traditionally the least appealing hour for many reasons. We worked hard to enhance the world at this very hour because we knew the 17.00 will look sweet anyway:)
Optimization Patch notesš
We tested and focused mainly on older machines. However, we provided a significant performance boost for all graphics settings.
New Graphic setting
The goal was to optimize the game to the point that it would enable it to run comfortably on a PC with integrated GPU (without dedicated GPU). We created a new graphic setting that is situated below the LOW scalability setting. It is dedicated mainly to common business notebook machines that were never prepared to run games in the first place.
GTX 960, which was our minimum spec GPU prepared to run the game on LOW scalability settings, now runs the High scalability settings at about 30 FPS. If the performance is your priority you are free to play around with the scalability setting to find something that runs well and has visual fidelity of your liking.
Removed unbound Lock FPS settings: The new Max is 240.
Epic settings have been merged into High settings. That being said we decided to remove Epic settings as it became unnecessary.
Among other things reworked we focused on the following:
Reworked outline selection method
Reworked landscape texturing method, implementation, and features
Reflection capture method
Brought quality Materials on all props to work properly with graphic settings
Reworked Sky
Reduced shader complexity for many shaders
Reworked mount Urulu
Numerous other performance improvements

In the meantime, keep an eye out for Car Dealer Simulator from our friends at Garage Monkeys as they've announced a prologue for December, so it's just around the corner.
As many of you know, we've decided to delay our upcoming Revamp Update some time ago. For those of you who havenāt seen the announcement and would like to check for instance the reasoning behind it, feel free to click this link.
As you know, we didnāt want to give you any specific dates until the update will be as error free as possible and we will be happy with the overall quality of the update. Fortunately, that time has finally come and you wonāt have to wait much longer.
Iām thrilled to announce that the Revamp Update will be available on November 27th, 2024. So if you have a friend who would like to delve into Route 66 and kick Dennisā fleshy part of his body that he sits on, then make sure to spread the news

Iām really thrilled to see such from your side and that is something that pushes us forward. However, we want to make sure that every single update that we release to you is as error free as possible while meeting your expectations. That said, after careful consideration, weāve decided to push the release date a little bit further.
As I promised recently, there wonāt be any empty words, so I wanted to give you some information about the current situation with the upcoming update. In fact, the update is almost ready, and weāre excited about the new content and improvements that are coming your way. However, as it stands, there are still a few rough edges and some final tweaks that need to be polished to deliver the experience you deserve. We want to ensure this update is as smooth, fun, and bug-free as possible and this additional time should give us exactly that.
As a consolation prize I have some screenshots from our upcoming update which should give you a glimpse into whatās coming to Gas Station Sim. Let me know in the comments down below what you think.

Also, you can expect the whole announcement focusing on the update on November 7th, with some fancy before/after videos, so stay tuned for that one as well.
Before we finish, Iād like to let you know that our recently released DLC for Gas Station Sim ā Car Junkyard ā is currently 20% off. If you still havenāt tried that one yet, now itās the perfect time to grab it, especially with the update coming in hot.
Let's talk about Gas Station Simulator's Road Mapš
Hey, Gas Jockeys! ā½
Throughout the year and many Steam announcements that weāve posted so far, we couldnāt emphasize enough the importance of your support and feedback. Since the Gas Station Simulator launch day weāve always had in mind the invaluable community that is willing to help us shape the future of not only GSS, but also our other projects including Road Diner Simulator or Motel Simulator.
We did our best to bring you much anticipated updates including Employee Update or Economy Update but also some new content in the form of the DLCs. However, weāre still fully aware that there are many features that havenāt found their way into Route 66 yet (yes, Iām talking about restocking shelves or gamepad support for example). But, things are about to change ā and I totally understand that rather than empty words you folks would rather see some action going on. And thatās exactly what we plan to do till the end of the year starting with the long-awaited Road Map šŗļø
Road Map till the end of 2024š
Before Iām gonna show you the road map there are two things that need further clarification. Firstly, we didnāt include any specific dates in the Road Map simply because we donāt want to give you any promises and later on, due to some unexpected issues, donāt stick to it. In general the plan is simple: As soon as weāre happy with the quality weāve achieved, weāll update the game with new features and obviously will share this information with awesome folks from our community. Weāve learnt our lesson from our previous updates and announcements, and we want to avoid any form of disappointment from your side.
Secondly, you might be thinking ā why is the Road Map till the end of 2024 only? Well, thatās a good question and here I come to give you an answer. In general we have a plethora of things in our mind that we want to bring to table. The hardest part in fact is to prioritize them and put them into the schedule, so everyone knows what goes where and why. Iāll make sure to keep you updated and as soon as weāre ready to reveal whatās coming in 2025, weāll definitely do that. Now, finally itās time to share with you our brand-new Road Map. Enjoy and let me know what you think in the comments down below š
First update is just around the corner š¤«
Before we finish this announcement, letās talk a little bit about the upcoming update, shall we? First and foremost, the production team has done a tremendous amount of work when it comes to improving both visuals and performance of Gas Station Simulator which is something that have been heavily requested. All I can say right now is that you can expect a new level of graphic scalability that basically is aimed for PCs with integrated GPU. Obviously, thatās just one thing among many, but more on that in the future announcements. Apart from that, you can expect some balance to Car Junkyard DLC (mostly regarding contracts), and much, much more, so stay tuned!
Stay up-to-date š°
Phewā¦Weāve made it till the end. I hope youāve enjoyed this little sneak peak of whatās coming to the Gas Station Simulator. It brings me joy when I think about how many things weāve covered today, yet there is still so much more to talk about. Rest assured, weāre still looking at your comments, suggestions, and ideas, so donāt hesitate and keep those comments coming. Together we will shape the better future for the Gas Station Simulator. Have a wonderful rest of your day, play some fantastic games, and we will see each other in the next devlog.
P.S Our friends over Codebusters have just released a fresh Family Land: Prologue Steam page, so I though it would be worth to share this information with you. Any farmers wanna be here?
I'm super happy to announce that our newest addition to the Gas Station Simulator universe which is Car Junkyard DLC is already available on MacOS. We apologize for a little bit of delay, but it's better late than never, right? Along with the brand-new DLC, we've also found a source of a problem when it comes to game not loading properly, hence not allowing you to enjoy the game. From now on, everything should work as intented so please make sure to update your game and check it out for yourself. If you still face any issues, make sure to let us know under this announcement, on Steam discussions, or send us a message to support@drago-entertainment.com.
