Let's talk about some key features in Drive-In Cinema DLCđ
Hey, Gas Jockeys! â˝
Itâs time for another development update for our upcoming, brand-new DLC for Gas Station Simulator â Drive-In Cinema DLC. Last time we talked about what is Drive-In Cinema DLC and its own employees. If you somehow missed the last announcement, you can freely check it out right now by clicking this link.
Today, I want to walk you through some of the structures that are crucial to have a remarkable night in the cinema. Thatâs obviously a project and a popcorn machine. At the end of the announcement we will also talk a little bit about Drive-In Cinemaâs renown, so stick with me till the end. Shall we begin then? đ¤Š
First things first â every memorable outdoor movie night needs an old, good, and reliable projector. In the Drive-In Cinema DLC, the projector is your go-to tool. Here you can schedule the movies you want to show to your customers from a wide range of those available. You can decide when the showtimes start. Plan your nights around peak traffic hours or align them with special in-game events. Who doesnât love a midnight horror marathon? đť
The Popcorn Machine đż
No cinema experience is complete without a bucket of hot, buttery popcorn. Thatâs where the Popcorn Machine comes in! This nifty gadget doesnât just add to the movie-watching ambiance; it also benefits you and your gas station in a couple of ways:
Boost Your Gold Income đ° â Serving popcorn to moviegoers gives you extra revenue. Customers love a tasty snack, so youâll see a steady increase in profits.
Increase Your Renown đ â Providing a great snack is part of delivering an excellent cinema experience. The more satisfied your customers are, the more theyâll spread the word about your drive-in cinema.
More ways to deal with⌠Dennis! đ â Thatâs right! If youâre tired of that pesky Dennis messing around your station, you can easily turn your frustration into fun! Use the Popcorn Machine to grab a bucket or two and throw them at the Dennis dummy when it appears. It might just be the ultimate stress reliever or simply hilarious moment for you đĽ
Renown đ¤Š
In this DLC, your new Drive-In Cinema has its very own Renown mechanic. Think of it like a progress bar that reflects how popular your drive-in theater is. Every time a customer drives in to watch a movie (and hopefully buy some popcorn), your renown ticks up. The higher the renown, the better upgrades youâll be able to unlock.
From improved projector settings which allows you to schedule more movies in advance, or an automatic tool that will help you keep the cinema clean â the more you invest in your drive-in cinema experience, the more itâll pay off in both satisfaction and sweet, sweet profits.
Stay up-to-date đ°
And thatâs a wrap for our another sneak peek into the Gas Station Simulator â Drive-In Cinema DLC! We canât wait to hear what you think about the projector, the popcorn machine, and the new renown system. Your feedback helps us refine the experience and make the Gas Station Simulator as enjoyable as possible. Let us know in the comments which features youâre most excited for and what youâd love to see next. Until the next devlog! đ

Welcome to another development update where Iâm showing you what weâve been cooking up for your beloved Gas Station Simulator. Iâm so delighted to see that the recent Restocking Shelves Update has met your expectations (for most of you at least). On behalf of the entire DRAGO entertainment team, Iâd like to really thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the amazing comments that weâve received. â¤ď¸
Now, on the main topic. Iâm fully aware that itâs been a while since our announcement of Gas Station Simulator â Drive-In Cinema DLC. Moreover, we havenât revealed much information about it so far, apart from releasing the Steam Page. But⌠Today weâre finally able to share some insights from the Drive-In Cinema DLC. We might even have a little tease regarding the release date, so stick with me till the end of this announcement. For now, letâs grab a favourite drink of yours, cover yourself with a warm blanket to create a cozy atmosphere, and letâs roll đĽ
What is Drive-In Cinema DLC? đ¤
The Drive-In Cinema DLC is a brand-new, free of charge addition to the Gas Station Simulator that brings extra revenue streams and possibility of further expansion. Your main goal? Acquiring additional space and setting up a drive-in theater complete with a modern projector and a giant screen.
When all is set and one, itâs high time to introduce the cinema to your demanding clientele. Validate tickets, manage sneaky customers trying to get in for free, and invest in further upgrades like a popcorn machine to provide a complete movie-going experience. Grow your renown in order to attract more customers and expand your clientele. All of this coming soon for free! Oh⌠You may even use the popcorn to throw at Dennis, but more on that in the future announcements.
Will Drive-In Cinema have its own employees? đ§âđ
The answer is â yes, but actually no. At the beginning the goal of the DLC is to give you complete control over whatâs happening in the drive-in cinema. However, as you grow your renown (yes, drive-in cinema will have its own renown) youâll be able to purchase more upgrades that will automate most of the activities there (well⌠You still need to use a popcorn machine to fend off Dennis right?).
Join us on a live stream next week đĽ
Thatâs right! Weâll be live streaming next Tuesday, 11th of February at 6 p.m CET. Weâll be talking about Drive-In Cinema DLC, answering your most common questions (about consoles and other games that are in development as well), and chilling while playing our beloved Gas Station Simulator. The stream will take place on our official twitch.tv channel, so donât forget to follow us if you donât want to miss the stream đ

You can expect the next announcement coming next week in which Iâll be talking about how the projector, popcorn machine and the Drive-In Cinema renown works. Last but not least, if you want to stay in the loop of everything Gas Station Sim, consider adding Drive-In Cinema to your wishlist.

Iâm more than thrilled to announce that the Restocking Shelves Update is finally available for you to download. Make sure to update the game and while you wait, letâs dive right into whatâs in store for you this time around đ¤Š
Yeap, you hear that right! From now on, your employees will finally have the possibility to restock those empty shelves and do the tedious work for you. Of course itâs totally up to you â you can still do it by yourself, but if you feel like you need some well-deserved rest, you can freely assign this task to one of your employees. If you want to see how it looks in the game, make sure to head over to our previous announcement
Oh⌠And along with the update, our team has managed to fix some of the issues youâve reported previously. Check the full patch notes below and let us know in the comments down below what you think đ
Changesđ
Automatic Restocking: now you can use your Employees to restock your Shelves. You can pick between automatic restocking and custom set up which allows you to control which products are restocked and when. We also reworked the mechanic of picking up shelves.
Challenges Rework: Challenges have been balanced in the Base Game and Tidal Wave. In TW, they contribute to reducing the volcanoâs anger. For the ones already present in the Base Game, Weâve added two new challenges related to refueling boats.
In the Base Game, challenges have been modified based on the popularity level â up to level 8, challenges require fewer customers to be served and offer smaller rewards in terms of popularity points. After level 8, challenges require serving more customers but grant more popularity points.
Show/Hide HUD: we added another Display Option that allows the player to hide HUD.

Another batch of visual improvements has landed on Route 66 đ
Letâs kick things off with a little update for the Gas Station Simulator. Along with that, the cash register also went through some changes mainly introducing some brand-new customization options.

Drive-In Cinema is coming in Q1, 2025đ
Now let's talk about the release date for our upcoming DLCs. After careful consideration we decided to postpone the release of Drive-In Cinema DLC to Q1, 2025. Sincere apologies and Iâm more than open to read your comments down below.
Similar to Drive-In Cinema DLC, weâll be pushing forward the release date of Shady Deals. As this is a more story-focused DLC for the Gas Station Simulator, it requires much more attention than any other DLC that weâve made so far.
Do you have any estimates - you might ask, and honestly you have all the rights to do so. However, with the current state, we canât share anything apart from coming soon. We simply donât want to throw any dates until we have the quality that weâre happy with. As soon as that time comes, Iâll be thrilled to reveal more about the Shady Deals, including its release date.

Patch Notes for Revampđ
The goal of the revamp was to fix all the visual defects that had been bothering us for a long time and thus refresh the look and mood of the game. At the same time, we took care of the original feeling of our title. We wanted to make something the same. We just wanted to have our game stay the same but better:) To do that we decided to do a complete rework of a Couple of features:
Foliage
The goal here was to eliminate the unnecessary optimizations we had made in the past and restore the original quality of grasses, cactuses, and all the props that make up a large part of what you see on the monitor.
Landscape
Close-up quality, getting rid of obvious glitches and artifacts. Retaining the color palette and adding features at higher scalability levels
Rocks
We completely replaced every rock in the game. Again, taking care of the color palette, we added and reworked channels to fully use computing power.
Global colors of the project
To the best of our abilities, we went over the entire project, adjusting the colors of the models not only to the color palette of the rest of the game but also to Physically accurate standards of the modern gaming rendering pipeline. This enabled us to bring the details to the places in the game that were previously lacking.
New Lighting and Color grading
The changes were very delicately executed. As mentioned previously. We wanted to retain the original feeling and make things look better at the same time. The point of reference was 12.00. This is traditionally the least appealing hour for many reasons. We worked hard to enhance the world at this very hour because we knew the 17.00 will look sweet anyway:)
Optimization Patch notesđ
We tested and focused mainly on older machines. However, we provided a significant performance boost for all graphics settings.
New Graphic setting
The goal was to optimize the game to the point that it would enable it to run comfortably on a PC with integrated GPU (without dedicated GPU). We created a new graphic setting that is situated below the LOW scalability setting. It is dedicated mainly to common business notebook machines that were never prepared to run games in the first place.
GTX 960, which was our minimum spec GPU prepared to run the game on LOW scalability settings, now runs the High scalability settings at about 30 FPS. If the performance is your priority you are free to play around with the scalability setting to find something that runs well and has visual fidelity of your liking.
Removed unbound Lock FPS settings: The new Max is 240.
Epic settings have been merged into High settings. That being said we decided to remove Epic settings as it became unnecessary.
Among other things reworked we focused on the following:
Reworked outline selection method
Reworked landscape texturing method, implementation, and features
Reflection capture method
Brought quality Materials on all props to work properly with graphic settings
Reworked Sky
Reduced shader complexity for many shaders
Reworked mount Urulu
Numerous other performance improvements
Stay up-to-date đ°

In the meantime, keep an eye out for Car Dealer Simulator from our friends at Garage Monkeys as they've announced a prologue for December, so it's just around the corner.
As many of you know, we've decided to delay our upcoming Revamp Update some time ago. For those of you who havenât seen the announcement and would like to check for instance the reasoning behind it, feel free to click this link.
As you know, we didnât want to give you any specific dates until the update will be as error free as possible and we will be happy with the overall quality of the update. Fortunately, that time has finally come and you wonât have to wait much longer.
Iâm thrilled to announce that the Revamp Update will be available on November 27th, 2024. So if you have a friend who would like to delve into Route 66 and kick Dennisâ fleshy part of his body that he sits on, then make sure to spread the news
For now I donât want to spoil much details (that will have to wait until November 27th), but I would like to use this occasion to invite you for our live stream that will take place on November 27th, at 6 pm CET.
We will be going over the Revamp Update, answering your questions (regarding consoles as well), and simply have fun. Make sure to head over our official twitch.tv channel and I hope to see as many of you as possible. Check this handy graphic for more information.
We will see and hear from each other next Wednesday! Until next devlog.
