Announcing Planetary Landings – And Mission Launch This Summer!
Greetings, captains!
As we’re getting closer to the launch of Genesis Alpha One, I’m very excited to announce that not only will you be able to send ships (called Harvesters) to planets to extract resources, but you’ll be able to join these missions yourself!
Should you wish to join the mission you simply get onboard the Harvester, and it will take you down to the planet’s surface where you’ll be collecting resources, uncovering secrets, collecting artefacts and weapons, and of course keeping your crew – and yourself – alive. You’ll be restricted to the landing site, however, for your own safety.
I’ve received the following footage for you to check out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feCaitlq7ks
With the addition of planetary landings, you’ll now have three means of resource extraction at your disposal:
Send out the Harvester; You’ll send out your assigned crew members to the selected planet and they will bring back resources. There’s a risk of alien infestations upon return.
Join on planetary landings; Explore the landing site on the planet, mine resources, protect your crew and get in on the action yourself. No risk of alien attacks immediately upon return, but a potential infestation from collected resources as they're being stored/processed.
Use the Tractor Beam to extract resources from Space Debris; This is the safest way to get more resources, but it is also the slowest. This comes with a risk of alien infestations upon resource arrival.
Should you have any questions about the planetary landings or the Genesis program in general, ask away over on the forums or in the comments below. Myself and other captains are also available for a chat over on Discord should you want to join us there.
Last but certainly not least, it’s my pleasure to be able to confirm that we’ll be launching the U.S.S Genesis this summer. I hope you’re ready!
See you on the Genesis,
Captain DKShadow
Genesis Alpha One Community Hub Available Now!
Greetings, captains!
Captain DKShadow here, introducing you to the Genesis program. Genesis Alpha One is a lot of things, but more than anything, it’s a first person rogue-like space exploration shooter. You must survive for as long as you can, as you try to find a new home for humanity. Sounds simple, right? (Spoiler alert: It’s not that simple.)
You control every aspect of your adventure. You build and customise the U.S.S Genesis space station yourself, clone your own crew – and subsequent lives – research and build every module, weapon and technology yourself, and you’ll even have to collect the alien DNA used when cloning. And cloning is key, as when you die, another clone is promoted to captain, and you continue playing as them. This means, however, that when you run out of clones... you run out of lives.
Speaking of clones, you can check out our latest trailer, focusing on cloning, right here.

You’ll have to protect the U.S.S Genesis from alien infestations, create proper living conditions for your crew, explore the galaxy, discover new worlds, gather resources, and most importantly, stay alive.
There are a ton of aspect of Genesis Alpha One that I can’t share with you just yet, but I’ll have a lot more news in the coming weeks and months. Let me know what you think so far in the comments below and jump over to the forums and chat with me there. If Genesis Alpha One looks like something you’d enjoy, consider adding it to your Steam wishlist.
I can’t wait to explore space – and save humanity – with all of you.
