Happy 2020 everyone! We have had a lot of updates since 0.9.4.0 which add more content and improvements to the game based of our beta testing feedback on discord.

Changes since beta 0.9.4.0 -----------------------------
Updated the Unreal engine version from 4.20 to 4.23
The engine and base code has been updated to use a newer build of the engine which has numerous benefits. There is some small performance increases as well as broader sdk support.
Improved Effects and Sounds
There have been many improvements and new effects added to bolster the game atmosphere and environment. There are new sounds, voice acting and music in the new build to raise the quality of the game in general. There are new weapon effects and lighting has had a full makeover.
New Content
There are a number of new maps for instant action which now offers more diversity and gameplay. New maps include Bug Bash, scavenger and the baby sitter challenge. There are also new items which can be used such as energy shields, land mines, flares, grenades and boxes of kit such as grenades and stims.
Weapon And Difficulty Balancing
There has been much work done on balancing for each map on each difficulty level. There have been fixes to bugs such as being able to shoot an enemy at point black range. Enemies have also had hit point changes and zombies are now easier.
Game-play improvements
There has been a lot work done across the board to improve on the game and player experience. Enemy and friendly AI has been worked on as well as weapons and inventory. There are numerous small changes and fixed throughout the game which helps bolster the game atmosphere and the fun and replay factor.
All in all, #tThere have been a lot improvements and huge thanks go out to our testers who have helped shaped the new beta.

**IMPORTANT - FOR BETA TESTERS**
Since we have had a major engine change, you will need to delete the games old .ini files in order for you to have a problem free experience. The Current ones will be based on the old engine and you will need to manually delete these files before starting the new update. to do this :
Go to your user folder in windows, make sure "show hidden files and folders" is enabled! This can be done by :
Windows 7
1) Select the Start button, then select Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization. 2) Select Folder Options, then select the View tab. 3)Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then select OK.
Windows 8 & 10
1) Navigate to the control panel. ... 2) Select Large or Small icons from the View by menu if one of them is not already selected. 3) Select File Explorer Options (sometimes called Folder options) 4) Open the View tab.
Delete the folder "GSChronicles" located in the Users/Appdata/Local/
Eg : C:Users******AppDataLocalGSChronicles
This folder was created with an old build and needs to be deleted in order for the new controls and features to initialise. This folder is separate from game install, so unless this folder is deleted for people with an old build, you will run into problems. please note that anyone who gets and installs the game after this announcement will not need to perform this action.
Beta 0.9.4.0 Released for beta testing
We have had a lot of updates since 0.9.3.1 which add more content and improvements based of our beta testing feedback.
Optional Health Bars
The player can now have optional health bars on enemy and or friendlies. This can be useful to quickly locate enemies and prioritise fire between them. It can also help with friendly AI to see how much health your team mates have.
More Inventory Items and Uses
More inventory items have been added such as grenade boxes which will replenish your grenade supply, Stim boxes which will replenish your stim supply and Shotgun shell boxes which can carry 24 shells and uses up only 1 inventory space. Medical supplies can now also be used to heal your team mates. More items have been added and the inventory has had more improvements.
3rd Person Improvements
There have been a number of improvements to the third player view. The player camera follows the character much smoother and has better collision reaction. A camera swap is now also available (double tap – Switch camera view) when in third person to swap between right and left. This gives the player a better scope for viewing enemies and combat and navigation.
Weapon Improvements
Weapons have had improvements for balancing and making each weapon more unique and fit its role much better. The Prototype rifle II sight has had vast improvements along with all other weapons. Tactical lights have had a revamp and are much more effective.
Better Performance
Many parts of the game have been optimised for better performance and the game now also supports Open GL along with Vulcan. As well as performance increases over previous builds the game now also has real-time FOV slider and other options to play the game you want to play it.
Difficulty Balancing
A lot of work over the last 2 months has been done on Difficulty balancing in each of the tree categories (easy, normal and Hard.) Each category has been tested and tweaked with 10 updated over the last month. Each difficulty makes a big impact on the gameplay and experience.
Achievements
All 28 Instant action achievements are now included in this beta. More will follow in further updates along with the story mode achievements.
New Challenges
2 New challenges are now available – Scavenger and Babysitter. These 2 new challenges and more fun and more challenges for you to overcome.
New Enemies
The old original aliens have now been replaced with the all new ones, the AI has also been improved for each of the new enemies and worms are now removed from eggs and replaced with a more fun and appropriate enemy. The new Lurker is now in the game along with a host of improvements to enemy and Friendly AI and behaviours.
Misc. Fixes and Improvements
A host of improvements and fixes for bugs mentioned by our testers have been implemented.

Difficulty Re balancing
Difficulty in instant action mode has been tweaked with community feedback.
Weapon Rebalancing
All weapons have been rebalanced to make some weapons are much more special and unique. Some clip size increases and further tweaks have been implemented to all weapons along with a host of other improvements.
New Content
The new battle rifle is now in the game along with some other goodies which can be used to your advantage.
Tutorial Overhaul
The tutorial has been overhauled to bring in some of the new items which have been added.
SATS - Small arms training simulation overhaul
The small arms training simulator has been fixed up and now includes items than can be picked up in the game.
AI Improvements
Based on feedback, there are more AI improvements for the pirates and the infected and alien enemies. Worms have now been toned down due to community feedback.
Misc. Bug fixes and improvements
Lots of general bugs and improvements mentioned by the community over the last month have been fixed up and improved on in the current beta.

Environmental Hazards
A number of environmental hazards have been introduced such as alien eggs which will spawn worms when destroyed and exploding tanks etc.
Inventory Improvements
Inventory is now improved and displays more information about weapons and is now fully working. Items can now be used, dropped or destroyed.
New Items and tools
Lots of new items have been introduced which can be picked up and stored in inventory for later use. These include Flare, tactical proximity mine, steroids, medical supplies, armour repair kits and many more.
Improved lockers
Lockers have been improved even more with better balancing and spawning depending upon difficulty level.
Improved Friendly AI
Friendly AI has been improved and now also includes options for friendly fire. Difficulty now plays even more of a factor on team mates usefulness.
Improved Hip weapon placement
All weapons have been tweaked to have and more realistic position when in hip position.
Weapon Improvements
Weapons have had various tweaks and the shotgun is now improved and balanced.
Map Improvements
More fixes and improvements to all instant action maps. Better balancing based on difficulty and a few changes to make each map fun and re-playable.

Here is our first Major Beta update for our testers. Building on our fist Beta most of the feedback given over the last few weeks has been implemented and the new beta is now available for testing.

Shotgun Overhaul
Shotgun has improved texture, now has 8 shell mag capacity and dynamically reloads (cancelled with Melee). The shotgun has less spread and other small improvements
Inventory Fixes
Inventory is now fixed up and fully functional. Weapons now state reserve ammo and ammo currently loaded in the weapon.
Lockers Revamp
Lockers have been revamped and now have a blue screen when opened. Items and ammo for weapons you do not have can now be picked up and stored.
Grenades Improvements
Grenades have been better balanced which make them that little more safer for CDF Marines.
Flamethrower Fix
Flamethrower has has optimisation to decrease FPS when torching your foes.
ADS and weapon Tweaks
All weapons have had some tweaks to align hip view, clipping and ADS views and positions.
EASY MODE
Easy mode is now much easier!!!

Ghostship Chronicles Beta Testing
For our Beta Testers!
The all new beta is now ready for testing.
We have had a lot of major system changes and improvements since our last alpha a year ago. After a major QA review, the new beta has a host of new features, much more fun and is much more solid than the alpha!
What has changed since Alpha?
Environment and Graphics Overhaul
We have changed most of the environments and have worked on improving lighting, atmosphere and level design.
Improved AI
AI has been improved and is much more fluid. Team mates (friendly AI) is now all fixed up.
New weapons and tools
The portable Mini-gun has now been added along with the Tactical Binoculars and some other goodies.
All new Inventory System
The inventory system has been overhauled. You now have a primary and secondary weapon, other weapons can be put in your back pack, and ammo for weapons you do not have can now be picked up. The new inventory management system is much more intuitive and offers more game-play elements with upgrades and such in story mode..
New content!
We have added new content such as onslaught mode, challenge mode and have expanded on simulation mode.
Difficulty Levels and Balancing
A lot of work has been done on re-balancing player weapons, ammo, etc as well as fully working easy, normal and hard option which now reflects in game. Easy and normal modes now highlight all pickups and each difficulty level will change elements of friendly AI efficiency and enemy AI.
Player Shadows
We now have improved lighting and player shadows in 1st person which really bolsters the game atmosphere.
3rd Person Mode fixed up
All bugs on third person mode have now been fixed up and many improvements have been made. Switching between modes at any time will now be bug free.
Sound and Music
Thanks to Will D Cruze for our new awesome original Ghostship music, we now have also improved the sounds on weapons, and most other things which help to add to the games atmosphere.
Full Game pad support
We now have full game support for all in game and menu action. Full customisation is working 100%
Many more improvements have been made and the new beta is a new engine version and totally overhaul based on our alpha testers feedback. We look forward to fixing up any issues before testing story mode this summer! We are aiming for a Halloween release, but that may be pushed back due to QA requirements.
