Ghostship Chronicles

New Update Released V1.0.1.5

It has now been 2 weeks since release and we have released 4 small update patches in the last 2 weeks. With the improvements to Team AI and enemies a host of other issues have been fixed up.

Update V1.0.1.5 is now available (2.1gb)

The new update has a host of improvements and adds some new content.

What has changed since the last update?

New and improved Zombies which offer more variety and have some more improvements for physics and facial animations. The zombie AI has also been improved and now act much better and die much better. There are better head-shot effects and the crawlers act and look much better.

Gameplay hints are now in story mode to explain a few crucial things such as healing team mates and not shooting the eggs. Judging from a lot of gameplay videos a lot of players had issues with these and it is obvious that many did not play the tutorial. Eggs have a much lesser chance of spawning a hatchling when destroyed and team AI will no longer walk into eggs.

The tutorial now needs to be completed, if not every time the game starts - it will load the tutorial. The tutorial can be quit and the game can be played as normal but this is more to push players to playing through the tutorial and understanding the game better.

A lot more optimisations have been done to the latest build which will make the game run much better overall. There have also been some changes which may help people with a rare dx9 crash bug which some have reported. For best results use a low effects settings on lower end system as this makes a huge difference to frame rate.

More improvements have been made to the small arms training simulator (SATS). Targets know have a knockdown effect when you shoot them. New and improved zombies and bigger hordes are now in the simulator.

Some more random battles have been added and some pre-work for the extra content update we will be releasing in a couple of weeks time.

In general the game should feel and run much better with the new improvements and extra content.

Vote for Ghostship Chronicles in the Steam Awards

You can only nominate Ghostship Chronicles in a single category, so if it's not your Steam Game of the Year pick, we would be grateful if you considered it in other categories, such as Outstanding Story-Rich Game, Best Soundtrack, or even Visual Style.

When we first started developing Ghostship Chronicles we made a lot of improvements and implemented a lot of feedback from both previous game and through alpha and beta testing. We wanted the third game to be fun and have an awesome atmosphere.

A few more improvements have been made to fix up a few small issues such as some broken vents, some lighting rebuilds and some other issues have been fixed up.

Update Patch 1.0.1.2 Released

Hi everyone, a new update is now available for Ghostship Chronicles (V1.0.1.2) 344 mb

We have had a series of updates over the last couple of days to fix up and improve the settings menu and some other tweaks and fixes. This new update now makes your team much more capable in combat and with just one or two enemies can normally handle themselves. Improvements have been made so they should not get stuck anywhere. As the new marines are much more dangerous, some more enemies and longer ambushes are also in the update. Crucially the level which some mention about finding fusion batteries should be much less frustrating after this update.

There have also been a few other improvements and fixes as well as more random and varied Infected crew.

Don`t forget to check out the official guides on steam for weapons and items.

Thanks everyone and have a great weekend

New 49mb patch released for V1.0.1

A new patch update is now available for Chostship Chronicles. The update is 49 mb and will improve and tweak some game-play aspects.

Team AI has been improved and should flow much better. They also have some slight improvements in combat and be a little more efficient.

Infected Crew Improvements and they now stop making a running noise when dead.

Collision on some walls have been improved, more noticeably in the main access corridor where shooting round some corners would result in some strange collision issues.

There have been some other improvements such as no more running animations in tutorial screens, auto fire should also now stop in airlocks.

Locker loot has also had a slight re-balancing with less assault rifle mags and more shotgun shells and SMG mags.

I will doing a live broadcast shortly after this announcement to test out some of these improvements.

Thanks everyone and enjoy the improvements.

Ghostship Chronicles Weapon Overview

Just a few days until release! The release trailer is now available on Steam, You-tube and facebook!

Weapon overview

There are many CDF (Colonial defence force) weapons to be found and used in Ghostship chronicles and all are very unique. It is highly recommended to spend some time in the weapons training simulator to test weapons and try out items and equipment. An official weapons guide will be available on launch.

The assault pistol is powerful one shot weapon and is accurate at close range. It has a clip size of 18 and is great for well lit close quarters combat situations as a last resort.

The combat pistol is a machine pistol which packs a punch and has a tactical light. The weapon is accurate at close range. It has a clip size of 38 and is great for dark close quarters combat situations as a last resort.

There are 5 grades of laser rifle available in Ghostship Chronicles, these all vary in power and features. The grade 5 laser rifle charges a lot quicker than a grade 4 and higher grade weapons often have higher capacity and fire rates. As with all laser rifles, if you totally drain the fusion cell of power then the weapon will become useless and will no longer be able to charge. The weapon uses intense heat on a projected spot which makes it less useful against some enemies.

The assault rifle is the standard issue weapon for CDF marines and is a versatile and efficient weapon. Fitted with a tactical light and a holo sight the assault rifle is useful in most combat situations. This weapon is suited for Close to medium range combat.

The sub machine gun has quick rate of fire is accurate close range and medium range with short controlled bursts of fire. The weapon is fitted with an II (Image Intensification) site which makes it suitable for combat in the dark and foggy and low visibility scenarios.

The battle rifle is designed for Medium to long range. Fitted with a SA (Sight Amplification) scope the battle riffle can offer accurate medium range support and has an impressive rate of fire with very little recoil.

The combat shotgun is very effective at close range and almost useless at medium range. With an auto internal pump the magazine can hold 8 shells and and deal a lot of damage the closer the target is.

The advanced shotgun is an even more effective close range weapon than the standard combat shotgun. Fitted with a tack light as well as an II sight this weapon operates very well in dark combat situations. With a higher magazine capacity of 22 and quicker rate of fire than the combat shotgun, the advanced shotgun will be your best friend when enemies get close.

The advanced assault rifle often referred to as a sniper rifle is a deadly long range weapon. It has a fast fire rate and very little recoil mixed with high-caliber rounds really packs a punch. This weapon is best used at long range in well lit conditions.

The portable mini-gun offers some serous firepower at all ranges. using high-calibur armour piercing rounds this liquid cooled mini-gun is both quick to deal damage and reload. Fitted with an II sight this weapon can lay down accurate fire at medium to long range what ever the visual situation. The gun is also effective at close range in well lit areas when fired from the hip.

The flame-thrower still proves to be extremely useful against some enemies and not so useful against others. Heat and intense heat such as the laser rifle will not affect some enemies the same. When an enemy is set on fire they will continue to burn until they die. Be careful using these around team mates!

Ghostship Chronicles Release Info
-------------------------------------

Most feedback from the original 2 Ghostship games have been taken into account as well as a much longer alpha and beta testing period. Ghostship 3 has been developed over the last 4 and a half years using the Unreal 4 engine, the first 2 Ghostship games (Ghostship Aftermath & CDF Ghostship) where both developed in UDK (unreal 3).

Ghostship chronicles features a host of game-play improvements, visuals and much better inventory system and items you can pick up and make use of.

Team Ai is a big part of the game offering different stories and endings as team mates survive during the game in story mode.

The game fully supports game-pad and has many control optimisation features and settings. A configuration tool is also included to set up controls and other aspects of the game before launch.

The game has 45 achievements to give you a challenge and a degree of fun. Onslaught mode also has achievements which is a wave based instant action mode. On the surface there may not look that much to this indie title, but dig a little deeper and there is much more to the game.

While not essential we strongly advise playing through the tutorial to get a good understanding of the game and its features. Then try out the weapons training simulator (Firing range) to get used to weapons and items you will find in the game.

We will be bringing more updates this coming week with more features of the game and some game-play.

Thanks to the small team and all of our supporters throughout the years for your patience and feedback and support. We hope Ghostship 3 was worth the wait and appeals to many more space marines.

Ghostship Nostalgia

The original concept and alpha for the orignal Ghostship Aftermath game launched in 2014 was in development almost a decade ago. Here is an original game and gameplay-play video concept from 2011 -

Ghostship 3 is almost ready! Are you?

We are almost ready for release after almost 5 years of hard work from myself, some awesome voice actors, Will Dee our awesome music guy and our valued testers who will be seen in the credits. The road has been long and with introducing multiplayer a while months back seemed worthwhile. With all the keys handed out for multiplayer testing which is vital, almost zero feedback from 98% of them has now seen and end to multiplayer. I may be a solo dev, but trying to test a multiplayer game by yourself does prove to be the limit. With just a few bugs to fix in multiplayer, without any testing support, it is impossible and will produce bugs in the game which is designed for single player totally unacceptable. Multiplayer is now axed. The game is aimed at single player and while I hoped to extend the life with multiplayer and co-op this is impossible for 1 guy.

Our steam store page will be updated with all the new relevant screenshots and release and cinematic videos as we are now aiming for single player 100%
