GIBZ - Halloween Update



It's Halloween time in GIBZ! + Steam Trading Cards are now available

  • Halloween Event! 20th of October to the 7th of November (UTC)
  • 2 Halloween Achievements and 3 new Halloween wearables
  • Pumpkins appear in random encounters like crates (and explode like mini tnt crates) - smash enough of them to unlock the Pumpkin Head
  • All food pick-ups are replaced with candy - Eat enough candy to unlock the Witch Nose and Witch Hat

  • Added new hat and facewear (non-halloween themed) that can been found in random encounters
  • Added new music for Surgeon Boss fight
  • Fixes/Tweaks to HUD functionality (mostly inventory)
  • Fixed Tower Bridge state not updating after defeating the last boss you need (before you had to reload the game for it to update)
  • Overworld map state now gets updated on level change for clients (online co-op) This should help if they somehow get out of sync (eg: boss looks alive on your screen but dead on the host)
  • Couple of possible crash fixes
  • Lower tiers of primary and melee weapons no longer appear in crates in later zones if everyone playing already owns them
  • Lowered chances of empty crates in later zones on normal difficulty+

Tower Bridge Battle and Female Playable Characters!

  • Added Tower Bridge Battle
  • Added new level for encounters in area 4 (the little area past the Tower Bridge)
  • Added Female playable character (10 different heads to choose from)
  • Added 4 new hats (find in crates, some only in the new area north of the Tower Bridge)
  • Added 2 new achievements
  • Added more head variety to zombies
  • Added buff info pop-ups for hats/facewear when they are on the ground (can be turned off in config.txt)
  • Added bullet hole decals (can be turned off in config.txt)
  • Updated/Tweaked background graphics for some levels
  • Mini-games now despawn when there are too many (rather than stopping new ones from spawning)
  • Tweaked coin magnet a bit (they shouldn't go crazy on Zombie Surfing anymore)
  • Fixed character creation problems that could occur when a previous save was deleted (mixed up save ids)
  • Fixed player skin being affected by shirt colour in some cases
  • Fixed maggots sometimes not being shaken off the player properly which resulted in them teleporting
  • Fixed a couple of cases where text could overlap or go off screen in some languages
  • Fixed a case in which dead zombies on clients would rapidly cycle through different bodies, heads and hats
  • Fixed problem with "lost connection" prompt which stopped you from interacting with the menu after closing it
  • Fixed a couple of possible crashes

New boss time!

  • Added the 5th Boss (in hospital)
  • Added new melee weapon: Bone Chainsaw
  • Added 2 new masks (one found in encounters, the other from an achievement)

  • Added new music to the Fisherman Boss fight
  • Improved Collision (more stable and hopefully faster)
  • Improved AI slightly + added path finding for levels that require it (ie: the new boss level)

  • Dynamite can now be bought at the Church (once the Pub spawn is unlocked)
  • Tweaked enemy spawning in boss fights based on amount of players
  • Added a scoreboard to Mayhem on the right-side of the screen (or simply your score in singleplayer)
  • Added pop-up messages to Mayhem when you beat world, friend or personal records (based on steam leaderboards)
  • Player names on the HUD are now coloured based on player number
  • Fixed bug that occured when going in-between maps which caused input events to be called multiple times (messing overworld map UI)

GIBZ - Melee Update

A new update to improve melee a bit. I was play testing the Fisherman boss the other week and I thought It would be cool if you could hit the fish back it him. I ended up expanding that and making it so you can hit back any enemy projectiles as well as dynamite thrown by friends. This update also includes some new achievements, a couple new melee weapons and a couple new hats.


  • Added 2 new melee weapons: Baseball Bat and Wood Axe (unlocked via achievements)
  • Added 2 new hats and 1 face wear: Mining Helmet, Headband and Blindfold (unlocked via achievements)
  • Added 5 new achievements
  • Timed melee hits with blunt weapons can now repel projectiles (Fisherman's fish, Crusher's rocks, Goliath's bones and player dynamite)
  • Timed melee hits with sharp weapons can now cut fish thrown by the Fisherman, negating the damage
  • Timed melee attacks can now block damage from attacks from certain enemies that are in front of you (eg: common zombie attacks, bat bites, etc)
  • Added additional sound effects to the attacks of certain enemies
  • Added some more variety to blood chunks and decals
  • Glutton Boss - New Music
  • Fisherman Boss - New fish sprites
  • Fisherman Boss - Blow attack now deals damage + added an old taunt animation which he does if he hits someone with it
  • Goliath Boss - Buffed and tweaked his punches
  • Goliath Boss - Bone spitting now takes into account the amount of limbs on the zombies he eats
  • Tweaked crate spawning
  • Crate Finder perk now also affects the amount of crates spawned in encounters
  • Improved Lucky Bowl Hat buff effectiveness (even smaller chance of finding empty crates)
  • Improved aiming and aim-line positioning when using dynamite and the flamethrower
  • When having both the crosshair and aimline on - projectiles will go to the crosshair (like they do when only the crosshair is on) This allows for improved aiming of dynamite and the flamethrower


  • Fixed melee weapon perks not applying when they should
  • Fixed local co-op melee turning bug (mouse movement could affect players using controllers when doing melee)
  • Fixed network problem related to player melee/melee animations
  • Fixed dynamite throwing animation not syncing over the network
  • Fixed pickup animation turning bug (could sometimes rapidly turn when picking up dynamite from tnt crates)
  • Fixed projectiles and dynamite despawning when unpausing the game
  • Fixed movement keys messing up sometimes after getting knocked down (which resulted in you having to release and press the key again to continue moving)
  • Fixed bug with Machete Slinger bat spewing which causing the bats to not spread out before going for a player
  • Fixed the Spitter (mutated tree stump guy) from sometimes spitting when he is not on the level yet
  • Fixed coloured aim-lines not hiding properly when they should
  • Fixed player's head sometimes turning upside down when getting up from the ground
  • Fixed a couple possible crashes

GIBZ - Dynamite Update



Took a short break from working on the next boss to re-add TNT crates to the game (graphics and animation was done for them ages ago). After doing so I thought it would be cool if you could take out the dynamite from them and throw them like grenades. So now the game has throwable explosives! Throw them into the middle of a horde to see them explode into gibs!


  • Added TNT crates to random encounters (hit for a high damage explosion)
  • Added throwable sticks of dynamite (pick up from TNT crates or buy at the pub)
  • Buffed automatic rifle damage slightly (+5%)
  • Fixed networking issue that caused knockbacks on players to not sync properly
  • Fixed bug with Glutton (fat boss)'s start animation when in a network game
  • Fixed some bugs related to joining a network game just when it is closing
  • Fixed a couple UI problems
