Druid and Banshee Update!


We have a new update (v0.866) ready. Last time, we introduced two new arenas with new gladiators and enemies. However, we wanted to add more variety to the gladiator pool. So, in this update, the Druid and Banshee will be joining the gladiator ranks.

The Druid is a supportive unit that can cast spells to regenerate allies' health over time. Additionally, she is useful for keeping powerful enemies from entering battle early on by casting an ability that summons roots from the ground to keep enemies in place while also damaging them. Unlike most other support units, the Druid can also stand her ground and do a little bit of fighting, as her damage is higher than average support gladiator damage.


The Banshee is another support unit, but with a different purpose. She does not heal or help friendly gladiators. Instead, she casts curses to weaken opponents and has an ability called "Scream" which can cause enemies to lose control. This is a new sort of stun in our game. Previously, we had a knockout that would make gladiators fall down, but they would be interrupted as soon as they were hit by anything (similar to terror). Now, once the Banshee casts Scream on an enemy, the enemy will lose control as long as they are under the effect of Scream, regardless of how many times they are hit. This makes the Banshee very useful in battles where you need to fight high-level enemies (other than bosses, who are immune to any sort of stuns).


We are currently working on new arenas and quests, and are getting close to the next update with the Ancient Tree arena.

Hello there! We hope you're having an absolute blast during the holiday season and making the most of the Winter Steam Sale. If you've been wanting to try out Gladiator Guild Manager, now is a great time to grab it at a discounted price and join in on the gladiator fun.

As we reflect on the progress of the game this year, here are the major feature updates since the Early Access release: New gladiators, enemies, bosses, items, quirks, three new arenas, the first half of the main quests, and additional side quests. We have also implemented a new tournament mode and made tons of bug fixes, community-driven balance adjustments and much more.

We're planning Full Release of the game for the first half of next year and are currently working on another update that will add one more arena and new units. After that, we'll be diving into the biggest update yet. It will have two more arenas, new items, quirks, gladiators, enemies, bosses (including three different final bosses depending on your chosen faction), side quests, and the conclusion to the main quests with a short story about the consequences of your actions in Deadwoods. We'll also be adding other necessary features to round out the full game. And, of course, we have plans to keep adding new content even after the full release.

New gladiators added to Tournament Mode

New gladiators from arenas 8 and 9 are now available in Tournament Mode

Two New Arenas Released: Deep Mine and Church of the Dead

A major update with two new arenas, new gladiators and quests is here!

Deep Mine Arena



Underground mine that is being used as an arena and holds many secrets that will be essential to the main plot later on. This arena comes with new quests that will include either helping your factions to fight the primitive underground civilization of rats, bats and lizards (new enemies), or joining the natives of the Deep Mine to fight on their side - what will eventually give you the option to hire those units as gladiators for your guild.


Church of the Dead



This update comes with two arenas. Second one will explore High Necromancer's chambers with quests about High Necromancer and his servants creating these new types of soldiers, the Steelheads. They are creating them from multiple dead and even living people, too. Peasants will need you to enter the Church of the Dead and break out their people before they end up as one of those abominations. High Necromancer is building and selling those creatures to defend the borders of this kingdom. The Baroness does not like seeing him receiving the respect of the people and ruining her plans, so she will ask you to enter the Church, find and destroy those machines.

We’ll also have new gladiators for hiring in the guild: a Lute Master orc with a lute playing heavy metal sounds that hurts enemies, and a tanky dwarf unit Drummer, the first two music band gladiators (one more coming in the future update to form a full band).
As well as a new Peasants unit joining the people faction - Hobo - a drunk who fights with his broken bottle and dangerous wind breaking ability.

Next Update Announcement - Two New Arenas Coming Soon!

The next major update is coming soon and will deliver two more arenas (Deep Mine and Church of the Dead) together with new gladiators, enemies, and quests.



Deep Mine

This update will be ready in two or three weeks. With it we’ll have a total of 9 arenas, leaving us 3 more arenas till the game is finished. These final three arenas will include: Main Quests with different endings, all the remaining side quests, a lot of new enemies and bosses, new guild gladiators, new regular and universal items, a new group of quirks and more.

Fixes v0.835

-Some of the new units had the wrong main stat assigned meaning that quirks would affect a wrong stat. Now fixed.
-Specific quirks are now banned for specific new units so they don’t get quirks that don’t matter to them.
-The Explosion Bot was not setting enemies on fire. Now fixed.
-Few Explosion Bot ability texts fixes
-A few other minor fixes.

Tournament Mode High Level Game Breaking Bug Fixed

When players reach very high levels of enemies in tournament mode sometimes the game would break. We got a Save Game from one of our players (Hellmai on Discord. Big thanks!") and managed to find and fix the issue.

Update v0.832 - Boss balance and quest duration

New Arena, Quests, Gladiators, Bosses, and More! V0.830



Royal Arena is now available and comes with new challenges and new lore.


In update v0.830 we introduce new mechanical dwarven units and the struggle between new technology and the people of Deadwoods who are being replaced by it and need your help to fight back. Baroness will need your help entertaining a very important and influential guest from the kingdom's council in the newly open area. And if you side with High Necromancer, he will ask you to do the opposite and ruin Baronesses reputation.


We are introducing two new fighting mechanics as well.
Hook pull, which will allow gladiators to pull targets all the way toward them.

And taunt mechanics that will let you influence who enemy gladiators will attack, but you’ll also need to be careful when setting up your own team plan because the enemy team might have a gladiator with a taunt who can override your own team attack priority instructions.


New gladiators:


Rhino


Beast with thick skin armor and new taunt ability.

Warlock


Powerful summoner unit who comes with two additional units that he can create. He can summon small imps from hell and, if enough time passed, can summon a hell titan who can set enemies around him on fire with his burning wings.

New animation:


Dog summoning item now has actual dog animation instead of a worg.

Machine Gunner


Mechanical bot that shoots a stream of bullets

Explosion Bot


New kamikaze type unit that rushes towards the enemy to explode and cause high damage to vulnerable backline opponent gladiators.

Hook bot


Mechanical unit with a new hook ability that pulls gladiators toward it.



Bosses:


Steam Golem


Mechanical boss that can pull opponents towards him with his hook. He has powerful melee attacks and can fire multiple rockets from his back rocket launcher. Rockets will be dealing area of effect damage and disrupt enemies by knocking them down.

Chained Wyvern


Powerful boss, imprisoned in royal arenas chambers to fight against gladiators while entertaining the audience. It can bite enemies, making them bleed damage over time, and stomp them, making area of effect damage.
