Progress Update April 2018

Hi everyone,

First of all, sorry for the delay in publishing news about update v1.2. Here is a progress report!!

We love Gladiator School, there is so much we want to do to improve the game. We completely redid our hunger mechanics (Consuming Food Changes), tweaked practice automation vs micromanagement. We made a release ceremony to set gladiators free. We started redevelopment of the UI. More usability work. Lots more stability work. And then the testing of the new Colosseum with multiple gladiators fighting(3v3-6v6-9v9-12v12). We had a "dreams" list of things we wanted to do with the new arena. Work is now ongoing to fix issues and bugs that have come up along the way. Our key priorities must be met before we can roll out this update. Basically it will take as long as it needs to. Reworking major systems in a game like this takes time and there is only 2 of us. We promise to keep you guys updated!



When will the update come out?



We're now pretty confident that early in May 2018 is a realistic release date for the update but we won't hesitate to delay this if we aren't happy with the quality.

UPDATE 1.2 - COLOSSEUM coming out soon!!

A very common request from you guys in the Steam Forums is that the game needs to have more purpose for training multiple gladiators, so in version 1.2 we are adding: Colosseum!!

Colosseum is a new feature where you sign up multiple gladiators to fight teams of enemys in a new faster progression. The rewards for victory in this huge battle will be much greater then in the Pit or the Arena.

Since December, Gladiator Schools review score has decreased from (Very Positive) to (Mixed). In response to this downturn, we believe the best thing we can do is to listen and make improvements. This has led to a number of changes in our plans and schedule for future updates. Lots of players returned to the game last update and we hope that the same thing will happen next patch.

Most of our focus in this update is that the player should be motivated to train more gladiators.There has been a lot of development work experimenting with a "Tired" system so gladiators will have to rest after fights or they get penalty to HP/STA/DMG. We have also been exploring other options to try to implement more rewarding gameplay for having more gladiators. But so far we think the "Colosseum" is the best way to encourage multiple gladiators.

We can not announce an exact release date today because it just creates stress and interferes with our ability to optimize the development process. We are working hard to make sure it comes out as fast as it can and since we are not in Early Access anymore we must test these new changes to make sure everything works and that takes abit more time.

Hello everyone!
Thank you for purchasing Gladiator School and supporting the game! With your help we’ll be able to keep updating and adding more content. We have BIG plans for this game. So what have we been working on over the past weeks?


We’re currently focusing on two major areas. Fixing game balance in early game and the first big post-launch content update(v1.1) that will include a mixed match of new things - No spoilers here yet :)

After loads of feedback regarding early game we have been busy tweaking balance to make the early game abit faster. The amount of skillpoints that it costs to unlock skills, ultimate and change weapon/gear is being looked over aswell.

We put our heart and soul into this project and we are very proud to present Gladiator School to the world.



Leaving Early Access is not the end! It’s only the BEGINNING for Gladiator School, we have a whole host of ideas for new features and content. The future is looking very bright! Let us know in the forum if you have suggestions regarding future updates.

UPDATE v1.0 (Build 468) - ONE WEEK LEFT!!

We are just one more week away from Gladiator Schools full launch on November 9th.

Thanks to all your support with testing, we are happy to now push the build with an updated tutorial, improved crowd meter mechanics, tons of new enemys(BIG ENEMYS) for the arena, bugfixes, polishing and lots of memory optimization. Let us know if you have feedback or suggestions.

We have now been working on Gladiator School for over a year and it shaped up to be a game that we are really proud of. Our plan going forward is to keep expanding with more features and content even after the full release. There is huge potential for new unique gameplay that have not been touched yet that we strongly feel will fit the game perfectly.

Help us spread the word!


We are 2 people in our team. Both of us much prefer working on the game to marketing the game. We hope that if we focus on making a great game the game will eventually promote itself and people will find it. But, for something as important as our fullversion Steam release, we think it's worth making some effort to get the word out. Wish us luck! GLADIATOR SCHOOL IS LEAVING EARLY ACCESS NEXT MONTH!

We’re excited to announce the release date for Gladiator School. Full version of the game will be available worldwide on November 9th, 2017 for PC via Steam.

Thank you for staying with us through this amazing year of development. There is going to be atleast one more major content update before launch that will add a proper tutorial, more arena content and other suprise goodies.

  • Huge improvements to mechanics and animations in combat!
  • Weapons now gets upgraded based on weapon level!
