March Tournament Prize Details and Update 1.9 with Eagles!
Ok, so finally got the latest update out! I will highlight the changes below but you can view the Dev Log I posted on YouTube

We have decided to make the Steam tournaments and Viveport tournaments separate, just because the time difference it takes to get a new build approved on VivePort. We don't want two different versions of the game running at the same time. So each platform will have their own prizes.

So it's time to announce the prize details for the March Steam Tournament! The top 7 people will receive a prize... This is the most prizes given out in one month so far! ;)

1st place Forest Island: $25 Amazon Gift Card.

Changes in 1.9:

  • Earn 15 bonus points for flying next to an eagle! There are 3 eagles per map and they are randomly generated and their way-points are random.
  • Added in a sync loading screens to see progress on slower computers.
  • Change in camera position is now saved so you don't have to keep resetting your favorite position.
  • More updates to the flight physics. You can now fly faster. Also the wings will return back to normal bank when input is neutral so you will not remain crooked.
  • Steam Leaderboard updated to include only Steam scores.

Hi all! Joey here. I am working on a new update and need a couple more days to work all the bugs out before posting it. And as soon as I post the update I will post the prize details.

The update should be out around March 10th!

February Tournament Results!
What a month! This was probably the most intense month to date, with many people getting very high scores, and finally some competition for aboogieman ;) Very impressive flying with some cool video being poster in the discussion thread here Actually, I didn't think scores that high were even possible... Great job all!

With out further ado, here are the winners:

1st place: Aboogieman with a score of 370 with 6 min and 31 sec remaining. Barley coming in 1st place by 1 second. He wins the $25 Amazon Gift Card!

2nd place: Se7en also had a score of 370 but 6 min and 30 sec remaining. 1 Second short of aboogieman. But comes away winning the $15 Amazon Gift Card.

3rd place: Mrcheez with a score of 353. Winning a $5 Amazon Gift Card.

4th place: Flag with a score of 346. Winning 2 free keys to Glider Island to give away as gifts.

Version 1.8 And February Tournament Details
Ok, so another major update out here. Some of the updates include:

Updates:


-New Look to the Home Screen! Soaring through the clouds ;)
-When you first start the game it now shows you the Tournament Details. So everyone knows what the prizes are for the month.
-Update to the Leaderboards. The leaderboards will only show your top score for the month! So this means you can only win once per map. Sorry aboogieman haha ;) I am sure you will still get first place though.
-People from Viveport will soon be able to join the Tournament.
-Rocket Booster update! Now the rockets are separated, so when you press the controller on you left controller, the left booster will fire. In turn this causes you to turn slightly to the right. So if used correctly can help you make sharper turns for example.
-More updates to the flight physics. The booster had a lot of strength going up, that now has been fixed so gravity acts on you even while boosters are active. This might make things a bit challenging. Feedback would be interesting to hear here.
-New Voice Over from a professional voice actor!
-All new Music!
-New harness for the character! check it out in 3rd person mode!
-Probably a couple more tweaks I can't think of here.

Update 1.7 Released, Tournament Winners, and More!
Ok, so looks like aboogieman just won every prize for the January Tournament haha. So he will be getting a lot of Steam $$ sent his way.

Leaderboard changes are coming soon. There was so complications with getting it to work correctly so delayed the leaderboard update for now.

But on the bright side you will notice many new things in the version 1.8 update! The update mainly address ease of use for new comers and arcades. But there is also an added "Advanced Flight Mode" for the more advanced users! Here are some of the new features:


  • New "Basic Mode" and "Advanced Mode". Basic mode is for new comers. you cannot do barrel rolls, flips or go upside down in basic mode. On the contrary, you can do all those things in advanced mode! Please let me know what you think about this added feature!
  • New video tutorials to clarify things more clearly.
  • New audio instructions to also help out the new comers. Note you can turn the audio instructions off by using the options menu to your right on the main menu.
  • New wind effect!
  • New booster effect!
  • Updated flight physics. You might note gravity might be a tad stronger now ;)
  • New warning if you have your hands in the wrong position!
  • Slight graphic updates.
  • Ability to launch the game outside of Steam.
  • You can now adjust your camera in 1st person mode!

Tournament Update and some chages coming soon
Alright! aboogiman is still leading on all the leaderboards! Someone needs to step up to the place and challenge this guy.... ;) No, but all to respect, hats off a aboogieman, you are the man!

Just wanted to mention starting February we have some changes coming to the game. First off we will be changing how the leaderboard works. It was suggested (actually by aboogiman himself) that we should make it so you can only have one placement on the scoreboard. This will give others a better chance to also win prizes instead of one person getting all the prizes. So your highest score will be the only one to show. And if you click on your name you will be able to see all your scores.

Second we are adding a new flight mode to the game. This is for people who want to fly more advanced maneuvers such us flips, upside down flight and barrel roles. It's important we also keep the basic flight mode currently in place for new comers because we don't want them to get disoriented, upside down and confused right off the bat. So there will be two modes to choose from, Basic Flight Mode and Advanced Flight Mode.

Third we are adding new tutorial videos and voice over instructions to guide new comers and people playing in the arcades. You will be able to disable the voice instructions on the main menu.
