2.11 Reconnection

New reconnection feature!

We have added the ability for players who have disconnected to reconnect. This new feature comes in two parts. If you disconnect, you will have 90 seconds to reconnect. If you do not reconnect within 90 seconds, you will be forced into spectator mode. If you rejoin within the 90 seconds, you will resume the game. While you are disconnected, other players in the game will see you with this disconnect symbol.

Players can still interact with you while you're disconnected. For example, a duck could kill them while disconnected.

If a player is disconnected during a meeting or while a meeting is being called, they can still return and vote if they make it back before the voting phase has started. If they return after voting has begun, they will automatically skip. Disconnected players can still be voted on and ejected.

We understand that this isn't a content update and won't affect some players, but this will be very helpful for players with weaker connections. This update includes quite a number of changes so it's not expected everything will go smoothly. Please open a troubleshooting ticket so we can address new issues. Thank you for your patience and thank you for supporting other players.

*Note: We have temporarily disabled the shuttle sabotage in nexus colony as it was causing issues with reconnection

2.10.00 New Lobbies and Trick or Treat Mummy

New individualized lobbies for maps! Now with individual spawn spots

New Mummy added to the Trick or Treat game mode. Players playing trick or treat will have an equal chance of getting a Vampire or the new Mummy.
The Mummy is slow, but has a fast kill cooldown. Thralls can help by grabbing into Villagers to slow them down, but can't kill unless three thralls latch onto a Villager together.
Additionally, the Mummy can teleport randomly between hiding spots, and can use their abilities to speed up or locate all Thralls.

Parts of the basement are now closed off for trick or treat, goosehunt, and dine and dash.

2.09 Draft Mode

New Draft Mode:
Draft mode is a variation of Classic mode where you're given more agency with regards to your role. Players are assigned a hidden Player #. On your turn, you choose between one of three roles. Alternatively, you can choose Random, which will hide your role from everyone else. This is recommended for advanced players who are already familiar with classic.

Here's an example of how it would go:

First, players are randomly assigned a number. In this case, I've been assigned Player 6. No one else knows that I am player 6.

Players pick their roles sequentially, until it gets to my turn at number 6. Between the Snoop, Sheriff, and Celebrity, I choose the Sheriff.

I wait for the last two players to pick their roles. Along the left side, I can see that 3 players randomized their roles, and also that the game will definitely have a Canadian, Pigeon, Identity Thief, Sheriff, and Snoop.

When the game starts, I get the Sheriff role that i picked.

2.06 Quality of Life Part 1

This patch is the first of multiple quality of life features. In this patch, we have:

Proximity chat has been enabled for public games. We're happy with our new banning system that is proving quite difficult for trolling and griefing players. If you have been disrupting gameplay this way, please take this as a final warning

Coupled with the better banning system, we have also instituted an optional level gate. Players that are level 25 or higher can now make games only for level 25 and higher. We've had players create new accounts to harass others, and this will help mitigate that. We'll be watching this feature closely to ensure that there are always games for beginners and experienced players alike.

New Task Pool System! We're changing how tasks work, and they're distributed between living geese only. If you die as a goose now, you're able to spectate right away. You still have the same chances of getting materials. There are several other advantages. The player who completes the most tasks will be visible in the end-game splash screen.

The ability to transfer hosts. The host now has a crown next to their name, and in the player list in the settings, they will be able to give the host to someone else.

We've begun changing all the materials such that you won't need a specific material from any specific map to craft.

Microphone buttons are added to all screens, so that players can mute/deafen at any time.

There is now an overlay on the ejection screen and an egg screen, to ensure would-be griefing players follow microphone etiquette.

Various Bug fixes (dueling dodo not ending games and demolitionist bugs are fixed now)

2.04 Basement Balance and Bug Fixes patch

Pelican changes:
Swallow cooldown starts at the same cooldown as kill cooldown, but increases by 5 seconds everytime they swallow.
Pelican 'jumps' towards a target the same way killers teleport to the players they've killed.
Pelican swallowing the Canadian causes the canadian to die and for the Pelican to autoreport.
If a Pelican eats someone holding a bomb, the Pelican will die when the bomb counts down.

Sacrificial Bell changes:
Time to find the bell is now dependent on the number of players alive and unswallowed.
After-meeting cooldown fixed.
Can't be called as the same time as doors.

Astral Goose: Reduced their cooldown
Professional: Reduced their cooldown.

Lots of bug fixes. Some examples are the screeching sound, the spectating from the basement, invisible duck's pet showing, etc.
We are having issues with the telepathy sabotage, and it will be disabled while we fix it
Optimizations.

2.03 Basement

New map added: The Basement. It has various new features, including new sabotages, one-way peepholes, and locations where you dispose of bodies.

The Sacrificial bell is a new sabotage that forces players to vote someone out. If players skip, or there are equal votes, the bell will randomly choose a non-duck to eject instead.
The Clairvoyance sabotage allows ducks to see the location of every player.
The Telepathy sabotage allows ducks to communicate with one another over voice chat. Be careful that you aren't overheard!

New roles:

Invisible duck - Go invisible for a few seconds. You won't be seen, but you can't see others either. You can hear other players, and they can hear you if you speak.
Astral Goose - Astral project your spirit through walls to watch and listen to other players.
Pelican - Eat others whole, but they do not die until a meeting is called.
Esper Goose - You automatically block the Clairvoyance and Telepathy sabotages in the basement. Ducks will see your location if a sabotage is blocked. Start running!

Various bug fixes and optimizations
Extra security stuff. We have added some covert features that will help us get rid of players who only troll and grief others. Thank you for your patience.

- Many bug fixes and game balancing updates can be done without needing to update the client.
- Security will be increased for everyone.
- Sets the stage for other updates like opening proximity chat to public games, controller support, etc.

In DevLog 3, we also covered our upcoming basement map. You can find the trailer here:
