This is a massive and community-focused update. We've remastered the entire experience, optimized everything, double the PvE content and gave all 30+ regions a visual improvement! It looks better AND runs better!

  • We've re-added the fan-favorite Survival game mode.

LOVING GOO


We'd absolutely love to support Guardians of Orion- for years to come! We have a lot of resources and money invested in the technology behind Guardians of Orion and the sky is the limit in regards to what our technology can produce mixed with the ambition of the team. But it doesn't matter how beautiful the car is or what features it has if it has no fuel in the tank.

The reality is that Guardians of Orion has had three failed crowdfunding campaigns, each where no money was raised and demand/support was not there.





In 2014 we launched a crowdfunding campaign for a pre-production version. This event failed.

Despite this we took it as far as possible and funded it to a late 2015 Steam Early Access release. Using revenue from other investments and products we continued to support it to an official release with significantly more content. While this resides on us for this level of care and investment, it is only because we love and believe in our games as illustrated with our first game, ORION: Prelude:

2012 to 2017
This is a much different experience compared to our first game, ORION: Prelude, which was able to fortunately raise a large chunk of development money at the initial release back in May 2012. This allowed us to understand what we had to work with and forecast it across the next two years. This is what permitted us to use those resources to grow the game from something everyone hated into one of the best indie co-op shooters of all time.

In comparison, Guardians of Orion has been costing/losing us money since 2014 when pre-production began and we can only keep it alive for so long from only within as a small independent developer.

Guardians of Orion would need to cover its own infrastructure and production let alone generate actual profit in order for us to have the ability to produce content for the game and that is and always will be up to the gaming community!

We've really listened to the community and remastered and refocused a lot of content and systems in the game for v2.05 release. Feedback from the v2.05 Open Beta has been largely positive and we hope for a successful Official Release!

v2.05 Open Beta (Round 4) Now Ended!

We've collected all required feedback from the Open Beta Round 4. Thanks to all who participated and submitted feedback/bug reports! We are inching closer to release - See you all in Space soon!

We are launching the fourth (and final) round of the Guardians of Orion v2.05 Open Beta. This is testing community-reported changes and feedback and we'd love to hear what you think!

  • Fixed inventory initial gear coloring.
  • Removed gravity grenade ability from affecting the Harvester.
  • Increased level of dropped Gear.
  • Added DoubleXP for ALL account types until April 17th, 2017.
  • Fixed Privacy Settings not working properly.
  • Fixed deaths/spawns from the Agora Fire Temple.
  • Fixed Master Volume audio issues.
