Melee Multiplayer update

Update 37 - Melee in Multiplayer, New Intro Cinematic, and more

Hey Gun World Team, it's time to save the world. Your government has called you to join the squad. We've added a new intro cinematic to Gun World and you will now be able to play this in the main menu map, as well as the first time you load Gun World VR on your headset. We've always wanted to add a backstory to Gun World and now with an intro cinematic, we believe that we've done just that. We've also added melee mechanics for multiplayer mode - you can now use all of the 25 melee weapons from sandbox mode in multiplayer. Relive your best moments in B&S but in multiplayer, here in Gun World VR. Let's get into the fray Gun World Team.

Main Features:
-added new Intro Cinematic that gives a background story to Gun World
-added new melee weapon mechanics to Multiplayer mode - you can now select melee weapons in the class spawner
-added melee weapon inventory slot to holster your melee weapon
-added all 25 of the melee weapons to multiplayer mode
-made multiplayer NPCs have collision and be hittable by melee weapons
-added pistol and revolver to the main weapon category selector for the Assault class and CQB expert class, for those who want to equip pistols as a main weapon in multiplayer mode

Changes:
-made secondary weapon to spawn directly into your holsters in multiplayer mode, for a smoother multiplayer experience
-slightly sped up traveling to lobby time after completing a multiplayer game or mission
-removed the rank name system temporarily, made your name display your oculus name instead
-added more fixes to physics issues that may be causing crashes in multiplayer mode
-fixed issue where bullet casing would still remain in the chamber of the gun after emptying the magazine.

PvP Mega Update

Update 36 - PvP mega update - 8 new PvP modes, new PvP maps, new mines, and new Rank and XP system

Hey everyone, the PvP Mega Update is now officially out, let's get tactical with each other! We've added 8 new game modes and 3 new PvP maps, all for you to test out your amazing PvP skills and tactics. There is now an official XP and leveling system in Gun World VR, where you can rank up and earn credits. You will soon be able to spend your credits for awesome things in the future, so lets see how many credits you can earn in Gun World VR!

-fixed revolver not being able to reload issue in multiplayer
-improved performance in AK mag slapping in multiplayer to make it more fluid in multiplayer

Procedural Compound Raids

Update 35 - Procedural Compound raid, additional multiplayer weapons, and more

Hey everyone, it's Anthony from Alto Interactive here, let me show you what we've added in the latest update. We've been working hard on the procedural system that powers the next stage of mission generation in Gun World VR. You can now experience multiplayer ready compound raids in VR with your friends in the new Compound Raid map. This will serve as foundation for more procedural Multiplayer content to come, so lets see what we have in store.



Main Features:
-added new procedural compound raid map, procedural compound raid generation and helio extraction all in one map
-added GL06 grenade launcher, M79 thumper, RPG launcher to multiplayer (Tactical support class)
-reworked the RPG and 40mm grenade projectile to make shooting them compatible and working in multiplayer mode
-added all revolvers to multiplayer, as well as speed loaders
-added all breach load shotguns to multiplayer
-most weapons should now be working in multiplayer mode
-added smoke grenades
-added napalm grenades
-added stim pack, as well as a new healing mechanic and healing sound effect
-added helicopters that will spawn during mission placement and extraction in the procedural compound raid map
-added the Tavor x95 (carbine), and the Tavor x95 9mm (PDW)
-added new character model Spec Ops to character models
-added ability to see which maps the host is on, when choosing which map to join in multiplayer
-added new mechanic where if you tap your left thumbstick again while running, it will activate sprint mode and make your character run even faster
-added heavy breathing sound effects when running or sprinting
-reworked the voice chat under the hood, it should now be more stable and allow more players to talk concurrently

Changes:
-fixed issue with mirror gun not being able to stick to ground inside buildings
-inserted text display in multiplayer item spawner to warn users when trying to save gun with more than 5 attachments in the multiplayer gun vault
-fixed issue of door sometimes not being able to open from the inside in multiplayer mode
-reduced breaching charge damage radius on explosion
-fixed issue with shotguns not being able to breach doors when you are a client in multiplayer
-changed muzzle flash to muzzle smoke for silencers, was previously a muzzle flash when shooting from silencers
-reduced hand collision size for better hand control, and to clip into guns less often
-increased thumbstick movement threshold slightly to reduce chance of stick drift
-increased the bullet speed of enemy AIs, they will now shoot faster
-fixed issue where player names would not display properly in the lobby map
-slightly reduced horizontal recoil amount for better gun handling consistency

Tons of stuff have been added to multiplayer, with most of the guns now being multiplayer compatible, and two new maps being added. I've also made it such that you should be able to cross play between Quest and PCVR users. Less go!

Hey everyone, let's see what's new in the latest update. I've added tons of new stuff and lots of optmizations behind the scenes for this update. Performance should be much better now. I've also added a new hand finger poser system, fingers should feel much more robust when gripping stuff and won't clip. I've added an improved movement control system, movement should be more snappy and intuitive, you can also tweak the movement acceleration and deceleration if you want an even more custom movement option. Less go!

Multiplayer Early Access Update

I will be merging the main branch with the OpenXR branch from now on, you will need to set your OpenXR runtime to SteamVR if you haven't, for the best experience.

Update 32 - Multiplayer, Invisible hands, Iraqi Reload, finger animations

The main focus of this update is to get the multiplayer mechanics just right and to have interactions be consistent. This update will be a stepping stone for more multiplayer features such as QCB and missions, and more!



Main Features:
-overhaled multiplayer, many features should now work in multiplayer mode
-new multiplayer menu UI, servers, lobbies and map
-new invisible hands
-new Five Seven, and M4 skeleton gun
-new Iraqi reload mechanics
-new finger animations for gun handling when holding at pistol grip

-added fix for when people leave multplayer, their inventory slots are still left behind

Update 31 - Mag palming, muzzle smoke, tracer wiggle, PP Vityaz, and more!

Hey everybody, it's Anthony from Gun World here. Lets check out the new update!

The main focus of this update would be the new mag palming mechanic which I think will make reloading more realistic in Gun World. This update will be a bridge before we head into the survival mode for Gun World. I've added more improvements and a new PP Vityaz, full details in update-changelog. Less go.

Update is only available on the alpha1 branch. Switch to alpha1 branch to access it as it uses OpenXR.



Main Features:
-new mag palm mechanic (hold mag near gun and press X with left hand)
-new muzzle smoke effect and tracer wiggle effect for bullets
-new PP19 Vityaz (PDW)
-new gun malfunction mechanic for most auto weapons (occurs for 1 in 5000 shots)
-new backpack mechanic showcase
-human shooting enemies can now be grabbed and are physics based
-new ability to run by just tappig thumbstick once instead of having to hold down on it

New:
-added improvements to the physics based enemies and ragdoll system overall
-made human soldiers to be physics based and grippable
-added muzzle smoke for guns (activated when 10 or more rounds are shot quickly)
-added backpack mechanics for story mode
-added gun malfunction mechanic to semi auto guns (currently occurs for 1 in 5000 shots, will be different for story mode)
-added slight scaling effect for recoil reduction when two handing, where recoil will scale and reduce depending on how far apart your two hands are when holding the gun (ie. holding the gun with two hands closely won't reduce the recoil as much as holding the gun with the left hand further down the barrel)
-added mag palming mechanic, hold a mag and hover it near an already attached magazine, press and hold X on your left hand to activate mag palming
-added realistic bullet tracer wiggling effect (similar to games like MW2)
-added PP19 Vityaz (PDW)
-added ability to run by just tapping the left thumbstick once (previously you needed to hold down)

Changes:
-added fix where items spawned from item spawner will bounce off the spawning table
-fixed rendering issue where dead bodies would turn black or glitchy and fuzzy
-added requirement for AR bolt release slapping hand to have an initial threashold velocity, to prevent accidental slaps
-made hand gripping detection area slightly larger for better gripping
-fixed melee on gripped and ragdoll transitioning glitches
-fixed small misalignment issue when shoulder locking (virtual stocking) a gun one handed
-fixed bolt release issue for M4 type guns where bolt gets stuck sometimes after initiating bolt release
-added fix for inventory slot where items sometimes would go into a different slot
-removed main menu map until the introduction of story mode
-decreased gunshot sound volume by about 10% as it was a little too loud in general
-slightly reduced running speed to make it more manageable

-added feature where your hands will now teleport to you if they get separated too far

-added fix for bug that causes hand to clip into guns when releasing grip
-increased physics substepping to prevent clipping
-fixed bug where AK mags in inventory can cause AK mag slap ejects on held AKs
-fixed aug para chambered round mesh to the correct model (9mm)
-removed hand collision sound and collision vibration to reduce jank, there should be much less jank and a more improved handling experience
