Patch 3.5.24 Release & Server Downtime
Announcements:
Player Ranks Overall:
Stats have been reset and H-Hour now includes a proprietary Competitive Ranking System.
Enlisted ranks (1-10) can only move up and are mostly driven by experience learned by gaining a rounded background in the game's main elements. In order to transition from Enlisted to Officer Ranks, players must have performed 4+ of each mission objective type (Bomb Plant, Bomb Defusal, and Extracted Hostages) and complete specific numbers of matches. This is as Officers are expected to have overall experience before promotion.
Officer Ranks are based purely on the player's position on the leaderboard which can change based on player performance as well as the relative performance of other players. Here, players' Ranks can go up and down in their positions (based on percentile of rating in completed matches). Continue the fight and achieve the coveted 4 Star General position reserved for only the #1 player.
Player Rating System:
While we cannot go into specifics due to the complexity involved, the rating system is more than simply who won over who lost. It takes in consideration numerous game elements, and the player's contribution to the final outcome is a major driver for how much rating change they will be awarded. For example, if you want the most boost from the winning team, you'll need to be the match MVP. If you want the most mercy for a loss, top contributors get the most forgiveness in their match rating.
Achievements and Potential Future Resets:
With the stabilization of this ranking/rating system, we released both an in-game achievement system and the steam achievements so players can track their progress. Be aware however, we need player progression to allow us to fully monitor the stat and achievement results. If further tweaks are required both will be reset in a future patch.
------------------------------------
Patch 3.5.24 Notes:
New:
Honoring KittyHawk's passing:
• Added memorial objects in Sismis Church rafters to commenorate our beloved long-time supporter and WorkShop contributor KittyHawk
Achievements
• An in-game Achievement display page has been added to the Profile section of the main menu to allow players to monitor their progress
• Steam Achievements have been developed and released
• Activated Game Achievements unlocks and progress (values will be reset at release)
Updates:
Rating/Ranking System:
• Modified the rating scale to prevent players with more loses than wins from going into a negative range which is the cause of 0 Ratings (previous ratings are reset with this patch).
• Made adjustment to Leaderboard Ratings scale to prevent negative ratings (which shows as 0) for players with more losses than wins. This should allow players to always have a positive rating and accurately place them on the leaderboard with non-zero values.
• 2v2 minimum player requirement in a Ranked Room (dedicated server - Non-Respawn) applied for both updating of Steam Stats as well as leaderboard rating.
• Leaderboard display now shows players' Rating Score, regardless of profile privacy settings.
• Leaderboard display can now be paged (prev/next) 50 entries at a time.
• Added Leaderboard Position & Percentile details in the Profile Stats page
• "Next Rank" requirement details added to the Profile Stats page
Animations:
• Added crouch Bomb Plant/Defuse animations Known Scenario: When looking down while planting/defusing in crouch, the character will go in to "shot blocked", resulting in the plant animation losing priority and not being visible although the plant/defuse action continues progressing without issue.
Weapons Tuning:
• Corrected issue where some weapon attributes resulted in improved accuracy while moving instead of it being reduced. As a result, we may need one more final tuning pass prior to release if useful and detailed feedback is received about specific weapons and that exact desired modification is in the community's best interest.
Official Maps:
• Corrected Physical Material assignment on Cove Kitchen floor.
• Corrected Coffin room collision issues on Sismis
Bug Fixes
• BF(848): Able to force camera clipping with low ceilings/obstacles/stairs
Workshop Map Updates
Damitha
-Add blocking volumes to smooth walk across train tracks -Add objects and walls on 2 bldgs for both Terrorist and SOF side to avoid easy sniping from water dam side -Add a wall on water dam right of stairs to avoid easy sniping -Create more walking space on Terrorist side behind the trains -Remove collision on ground plants -Improved visual effects of exploding barrels and trucks for replication on server
Snowfall
- Change Post Volume colour to more white instead of blue hue as sphere - Change tree leaves to No Collision (some spots had invisible walls) - Add routes on the ground to avoid drop down of high hills - Add a few fences to indicate which hills are high - Change SOFs spawn position to the right a bit so both sides have same timing to objective
Hotfix Patch 3.5.23 & Server Downtime
Servers are offline while we update with the latest hotfix. Controller users should note the updates to key assignments in Bug Fix 716.
---------------------------------------
Hotfix Patch 3.5.23
Updates to 3.5.22 Features:
BF(716) - Removed Gamepad Right Face Button (B on Xbox, Circle on PS4) from backing out of Lobby & In-Game based menus as this is also used for Push-To-Talk and would inadvertently cause players to leave menus/lobbies when trying to talk. Will consider changing the button assignment at a later time.
BF(834) - Further enhancements to smoothing out the control/movement of Scope Sway.
BF(847) - Resolved an issue where Workshop maps would stop stat/rank updates from committing to Steam due to an obsolete option not being enabled.
Patch Release 3.5.22 & Server Downtime
Servers will be offline while we update to the latest release for H-Hour.
This patch includes a brand new competitive grade player skill rating framework that was built from the ground up by our Senior Developer. Player stat reset is required to move to this system. We are releasing on a test basis to allow for identifying any tuning requirements before a final release of the rating/ranking system which will also include game achievements.
Controller players with custom setups should take note of Bug Fix 830.
Special thanks to the community for their patience as this complex custom rating framework was developed. Also much appreciate the work done by the bug reporters and our community mappers who keep continually contributing to the betterment of H-Hour.
Replaced the Proof of Concept Ranked Scoring system with a competition grade player skill rating system. This required a stat reset for all players to allow the new rating/ranking system to be implemented.
Player ratings are driven by a number of factors throughout gameplay and will vary according to match length, room size, ratings of team mates & opponents to name a few.
Ratings can raise or decrease depending on match outcome and drive the player's leaderboard positions which will be used for Officer Rank assignments.
Updated Features
Bullet Impact Feedback:
Bullet impact feedback for the shooting player is now instantaneous versus waiting for shot confirmation by the server. Note, due to the nature of networks and that data and player connections move at different/varying speeds throughout the internet, shot feedback cues (sounds and bullet impact effects) will always have a degree of inconsistency.
Recoil system:
Reduced the degree of impact from the recoil compensation system
Animations:
• Change blend in time for scoped animation
• New animation for presssing of bridge detonator
• Cleanup of stand back keyboard montage
Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) Updates:
• Connection of more in game actions for detection activities
• Log messaging corrections
Bug Fixes
• BF(716) - ESC key & Gamepad Right Face Button will back out of a UI window/menu like hitting the Back button
NOTE: Some interactions may take away focus from the UI widget which will require restoring focus such as hovering over the UI element (like one of the buttons) or clicking on the Back button directly
Right Face Button means the B button for Xbox controllers, the Circle button on PS controllers, etc
• BF(826) - Weapon points to the sky when doing a forced Reload (empty magazine) while changing stance out of prone
• BF(827/837) - Locked out of movement temporarily when holding grenade and knockback triggered
• BF(828) - Movement issues when in prone and traversing over bomb satchel
• BF(830) - Melee Controller Button too sensitive when using default trigger button.
Note: Players using Customized Controller bindings will be required to go in to their controller input options and set the Left Trigger binding in the Analog/Axis key assignment section for custom bindings
• BF(832) - Cove: Character "sinks" partially in to the Street at certain curves from sloped to flat elevations
• BF(834) - No smooth transition of camera movement effects while moving, looking, idling in Scope view (Jitter/Bounce). This may require additional tuning pending more feedback.
• BF(836) - FPV with grenades equipped and jumping can allow brief view through walls
• BF(838) - Knockback stops defuse action but not icon timer
• BF(839) - While holding action to Diffuse a Bomb and looking around, the action tile can disappear/reappear from view, causing multiple issues resulting from the desynchronization
• BF(840) - Softspot in Temple
• BF(841) - Temple-Painting in Seal right breach tunnel
• BF() - Corrected collision on WolfRun chicken coup bldg

Servers Offline Awaiting Anti-Cheat Fix - Use UCRs (Create a Game)
A key component of our automated anti-cheat is no longer working. Some have unfortunately used this as an opportunity to inflict damage on the playing community by using cheats on our servers. Our efforts to keep the servers clean by daily reviewing data and removing hacker accounts, is busy work that ties our hands from doing the needed fixes and it is ultimately, not protecting the community from the next "new account".
Given we are a tiny team, a decision was made to take our servers offline and allow the team to focus their full attention on a permanent fix to the anti-cheat issue.
In the interim, players can create their own rooms (UCR) for game play together:
At Main Menu, select Server Browser
Click on Create a Game
In the UCR window, click on the Map Rotation button
Setup your desired maps and click on Apply once done
In the UCR window, set your desired round counts, times and if you wish, you can add a server Password to give to players you know or just run as an open server, your choice. Note: To add a password, type it underneath the "Password" field shown on the screen.
Activate the "Online" selection box so your game can be found on the Server Browser
Once done, click on Create and invite your friends.
Our sincere regrets for any inconvenience this may cause!
Server Downtime & Patch Release 3.5.20
Servers are offline this morning to be updated with our latest patch release. This patch has major FIRST PASS content as we continue to optimize our official maps for full release. Content is not final and we ask the communities help in identifying any bugs related to patch content
----------------------------------------------
Patch Release 3.5.20
Updated:
Official Maps:
Factory, Temple, WolfRun and Sismis all had major map optimizations. This is first pass and more work is scheduled.
The work included a complete overhaul of lighting, shaders, foliage, materials and meshes to improve GPU and CPU performance and increase FPS.
NOTE: Please keep in mind this is a first pass. There was a large quantity of changes to all content in the maps and some known work is still on our "to do" list. Please report any bugs you might find.
Character Movement:
Removed strafe, movement, look reduction while firing weapons
Dive to Prone Animation:
Increased the speed at which the character transitions from prone. Additionally stance transition can be triggered earlier in the dive animation.
Auto-Kick System:
Kicks due to abusive behavior (excessive teamkilling) will carry a longer temp ban period for the server.
Bug Fixes:
BF(053): Factory - Bridge bomb throws the character & applies no damage
BF(670): Hang point near half wall by "Rug Room" in Sismis
BF(799): Hang point at base of SOF right stairs when rounding building corner in Factory
BF(815): Movement lockout when going from prone to crouch with equipment items (nades, mines, claymores, etc)
BF(816): Movement lockout when detonating the Factory Bridge
BF(819): No interpolation in prone movement
Workshop:
FishHook – Numerous changes to address bugs reported on steamhub bug report
