Weekly Update #7 v0.23.1: Bugs and Scorpions!
Update #7: Bugs & Scorpions!
This week, we added the Toxic Death Scorpion, the Deep Dark, a new monster cave & spent the rest of the week CRUSHING BUGS WITHOUT MERCY.
(Like, coding bugs, that is. We fixed, like, so many.)
The Toxic Scorpion will literally melt the face off your Dwarves. Coming next week: Dwarves with better helmets.
(Elliot here! the minor updates this week also include:
- The butcher now animates slicing animals heads off when slaughtering them
- New tasks to manipulate blueprints, added at the request of the community!
and now back to Mike)

Weekly Update #6 v0.22.2
Bonjour, damen und herren
This week we have a bevy of new content, including:
A new class - the butcher. In addition to sporting jaunty red bandanas, Butchers are used on the new objects...
Pigs! Now you can satisfy your lust for flesh by eating sweet sweet ham. Pigs wander around paddocks and wallow in mud.
Mike also did some work this week, adding doors that open and close when dwarves walk through them as well as reorganizing the tutorial and menus. Now the learning curve should be a little shallower, and navigating the menu should be much easier.
As well we did the usual suite of bug fixes, including fixes to building and carrying prioritization.
Hello fellow humans! Another week, another QUTM update. On the docket this week: death and decay!
Lighting! Now underground caves are properly dark. Build torches to reveal what lies waiting in the dark, or comfort yourself by a cozy fire to recover from a goblin attack.
In time for the spooky season (really? that's what we're doing?) we've added a new class: the Gravedigger! The gravedigger both digs graves, and inters your sadly deceased dwarves into them. The janitors cleanup targets have been expanded, and they'll now mop up blood. Together, this means that you can completely remove all evidence of any shady happenings. Not that you'd need to, purely hypothetically of course.
Sometime soon Mike will hopefully be able to run some streams, but we've lots to do so no promises :)
As always, send us your love and/or bug reports at hello@queenunderthemountain.com

Update #3! Version 0.19.0 Released
Another day, another update for qutm. Included in today's update, along with numerous small bug fixes, are such diverse features as:
A new class: the engineer. Upgrades from the builder
Two new rooms: the Stoneworks, where the Stonecutter works, and the Forester's Lodge, a room for the forester
A new object, the Minting Machine, built by the engineer, used by the goldsmith to produce new coins
New art for the anvil, so it looks less like an ass
As always, send us feedback and bug reports to hello@queenunderthemountain.com
Toodle Pip,

Version 0.18.0 Released!
Good news everyone! A new version of QUTM is out on Steam! Bug fixes, better stockpiles & a bunch of new objects to build.
- The generic stockpile, allows you to automate your resource collection, which is super useful!
- The Throne Room. A place to build the new objects we added, like the Iron Throne (built using swords), a Golden Column (a pillar of solid gold), and Gold Floor Tiles, for when you want to literally pave your streets in gold.
- Also, Marble tiles, Gold Checkered Tiles, Marble Pillars, The Golden Throne, Stone Throne & as mentioned, the Iron Throne.
- 3 Steam Achievements! Mike added 3 so far, but expect us to add new ones on (at least) a weekly basis!
Also, for modding, we changed the parsing so the Object .JSONs support comments /* like this */. That’s useful for labelling all those stats & flags.
If you were being bugged by dwarves not building after you loaded a save game, or by miners freezing up, we’ve fixed those bugs. Please let us know if you see them again!
Cheerio!
Elliot
