Hammerwatch 1.4!
5 Years ago on this very day, or at least around this day, Hammerwatch was released.
Today we are releasing the 1.4 patch which contains features from the console version released last winter, including the Sorcerer class and twin stick/mouse keyboard support! Several skills have been re-balanced or reworked and a lot of bugs been fixed, we also added a much wanted mana-regen in the combo store. See the list below!
Patch Notes 1.4
Added Sorcerer class!
Added twin-stick controls!
Replaced Wizards Ice Nova with Fire Nova and Frost Shield with Fire Shield
Priest beam isn't blocked by other players, now it goes through and heals
Replaced Warlocks Lifesteal Nova with Summon Gargoyle
Warlocks Lightning Strike can now hit the same target multiple times for diminishing damage
Wizard can now move slowly white spraying fire
The Lich boss in Castle Hammerwatch no longer instantly shoots after teleporting, there is now an animation so the attack can be avoided
Lives now cost more the more you have
Added a combo upgrade for regenerating mana
Updated visuals of characters
Fixed some small visual issues
Editor no longer runs extremely slowly with modern NVidia drivers
Editor now works with Intel graphics cards
To enable twin stick, enter the control options and set mouse aim, then you will want to rebind the skills to mouse buttons.
If you don't like these balance changes and tweaks and still want to play the previous version, you can always roll back this change in the steam options for the game.
Other news
We have great plans for our current game, Heroes of Hammerwatch (the roguelite), which is getting a bigger update soon with more floors and later with a real DLC with a new campaign, class and tons of new stuff. Just check out this Troll here! A lot more news about this soon!
And finally, a small environmental picture from Hammerwatch II, day, twilight and night, with some rain too! Enjoy! We can unfortunately not show a proper video of the game yet, but in time we will!
You can always find out more from our Twitter and on Discord!
Heroes of Hammerwatch have just been released, check out our cool release trailer! People should be happy that it also has a discount on 20% for a little while, so be quick about it!
Heroes of Hammerwatch as some of you already know is a roguelite Hammerwatch, it's very different from the first game, but still very similar. Check out the trailer, talk to us on steam and in our discord!
For those not following us on twitter or knew we even had one: Last time I told you guys about our new game, Heroes of Hammerwatch, a procedural generated roguelite, you can read more about it here, and visit the steam page to add it to your wishlist.
I just wanted to tell people that the progress of the game is going steady and forward. We have been in beta mode for some weeks now (more about that below) and we have been getting a lot of feedback, bug reports and ideas on how to improve the game.
5 of the 7 classes are implemented and are working with almost full features, 70% of the themes and their respective generation is in and the majority of bosses.
This game may look like Hammerwatch 1, but it plays very different, with persistent progress you can really keep building that hero up over time, and if you feel like starting a new one, the upgraded town will be of great help to boost the start of the new hero.
For people who wants in on the beta, our man Roy is handling all that for us over at the beta test group.
Request to join the group and after a while (a long while) Roy might get to you and after he reviewed your profile let you in. We frequently accept new testers every week in the days leading up to the game's release.
Don't forget about the console release of HW1, laucnhing from today on SWitch and PS4 and Xbx in the comming days, for those wanting more info on HW2 as promised before, this is all you get for now. Spread the word.
New Hammerwatch game!
(TLDR at the end) Good-day all Hammerwatch fans, in this little news update I will tell you guys about our new game in the series and something about Hammerwatch 1. People expecting Hammerwatch 2 news will have to wait a little while, perhaps end of next week or the week after, where I will give a similar post but focus on that game alone!
Heroes of Hammerwatch
http://www.heroesofhammerwatch.com
Today we are announcing a new chapter in the Book of Hammerwatch, Heroes of Hammerwatch! A roguelike hack and slash RPG/adventure game, set in the same world as Hammerwatch and its expansion, The Sun Temple.
Take control of any of the 7 heroes, that you all know and love from the previous game and venture out from the Town of Outlook above Aridara and climb the Forsaken Spire through various different environments.
And while Hammerwatch is built on all static designed levels and a clear path, Heroes has generated random levels with a mix of traps, puzzles, items and such.
Heroes of Hammerwatch is not only random and generated, it's also persistent, something people have been asking about every now and then in the forums. So while levels and such are random, your hero will be saved with all of his/hers progress when it comes to skills and such.
The town you constantly upgrade to unlock more features will also be saved, but for all your heroes, so you can create new Heroes and they can continue to build up the town.
Features:
Random generated levels - each time you enter a level a new layout with different features will be generated.
Persistent Heroes - your progress is saved and each time you restart the game or die you can choose to continue with your Hero or create a new one. This time you can customize your heroes better too, with colors on different parts of the body and such, make it more unique to your own likings.
Upgradable town - the town is the starting point for your Heroes which you will return to between sessions. Construct buildings to allow Heroes to be upgraded further, unlock new Heroes and a lot more things. The town remains upgraded even if you choose to create a new Hero.
Items - Heroes of Hammerwatch features over 100 different items with various rarity, some with extreme abilities. Items can be bought in town, found in chests or secrets, and can also be dropped as reward from some enemies.
Enemies - Fight hordes of enemies all with different stats and functions, several big and smaller bosses all with unique looks and behavior.
Environments - Using some old themes from the first Hammerwatch, Heroes of Hammerwatch also adds new and fresh themes thrown into the mix.
Co-op - Bring your Hero into someone elses town and help them out, or have up to 3 of your friends join your own town.
Release date:
The game is set to be released Q1 2018. We will select a few people from the community to beta test the game too.

Old Hammerwatch
This game is pretty old by now, it has sold around 1M copies in that time and a lot of people seems to enjoy it still!
We are still hoping the game will be released on consoles soon, I know they are working on it and we just recently tried a new build of the PS4 version!
About a year ago, we also made a pretty big patch for this game, that was not released, it's one of the bigger patches for the game, with tons of balance changes to classes and also a totally new class. I hope we can release this patch at some point later too!
Some of the characters have gotten an overhaul too, this also shows the new class, that also will be featured in Heroes!

Btw, spread the word.
