Harvest Island DLC Released
Harvest Island DLC is released! It'll be sold at $4.99 with a launch discount of 40% off!
Harvest Island is going to have a DLC! I've asked the community if they would like a "Multiple Expanded Endings" for Harvest Island and the support is great! For a small niche community, this is good support! I'm already developing this DLC. Since my last announcement of a DLC, I had to think about what content would be good for it. So I brained stormed a little bit more, reread the reviews on how to improve the game more (Within my limitations/budget) and looked at the future of Harvest Island and it's sequel/prequel.
There are only 3 things that has reoccurred within the recent reviews. 1) People expect Harvest Island to be like stardew valley but horror (which is not) 2) UI is clunky (Limitations from the game engine. Out of my power as a developer. Fixing this would take an enormous budget/time and needs to be ported to a new engine.) 3) The story's ending isn't finished. (This is something I can fix)
I think Harvest Island should have a good ending. Where there are no to be continues. I'm doing this because Harvest Island sequel/prequel is on a hold due to budget issues. And I think waiting years before I get the budget to start developing it to complete the story is too much of a wait. And by then, I think people will forget about Harvest Island. I wish I had the budget for it. I honestly do. I have such great ideas... (This is why I'm making a smaller game called A Journey's End which is more affordable.)
So, making a DLC is the 2nd best thing. And it's time to add a good ending to Harvest Island. That's why I'm making this multiple expanded ending where it'll have 4 endings in total. This is very different from the alternative endings which I am not doing. Multiple endings are endings where all the endings are a part of the lore and story to the overall game.
All of these endings will tie together to end Harvest Island in one complete cohesive story. And these endings are obtained during late game.
I won't be able to develop the sequel/prequel to Harvest Island but you will experience the conclusion of Harvest Island and be once again moved by the story its told.
And the price will be $4.99 for this DLC. There will be new character portraits, illustrations, trophies/achievements, music, and a bit of gameplay! Stay tuned for the release! (I have been secretly developing this before the announcement, so it'll be released! I'm almost done!)

Future of Harvest Island
Harvest Island price will increase from $15 to $20.
I'm struggling too much and forced to increase the price of the game. With over 20+ hours of content, bug free, and lots of content updates since release along with feedback and suggestions from the community, and a great story, I think it's worth this price. I've left the game's price at $15 for a few months to attract new potential fans to try a horror farming sim but the game is too niche and I'm really struggling. Sorry for the bad news. I wish more people would give Harvest Island a try and enjoy the story.
Onward to good news, I like to share some of the game's development I've been working on. It's called a Journey's End and it's inspired by spirited away. And you'll be able to work in the bath house just like in the movies! And 99% profits from Harvest Island is supporting this game.
And an update on the Harvest Island series. Currently, I'm not able to fund the Chains that bound me which is the prequel to Harvest island. It's designed to be an RPG, but It cost too much. It'll be in a new engine and requires a lot more art/programming which is out of my skillset to develop this solo. And even if I did, my ideas would be crippled, the development time would take too long, and I need a team of at least 3 to make this. A strong programmer, and a good artist. I can cover the rest.
As for the sequel, it's way off in the distance and the prequel needs to be finished first before the sequel. This requires a bigger team and Harvest Island needs to undergo V2.0 first to attract new fans but there is no budget for this. My only option is to just wait until the fan base grows or the success of my next game helps carve this series. But! Maybe I'll add a DLC. I have one idea that I can add called "Hell Farm" If there are gods, then there needs to be Hell, right? I don't know, leave a comment if this sounds interesting.
Right now, Yobob Games is a team of two that's working on A Journey's End. Harvest Island's small success has helped with this. I'm glad. No more solo development! And the game I'm working on is a higher budget than Harvest Island so I believe it'll have a bigger success because of it's iconic premise. I just need time to get to that stage of development of completing the Harvest Island story. Be patient. We will get there eventually. Rome wasn't built in a day.
