Hey folks! Hope you are ready for the holidays! We just added a bunch of great stuff to the game for this update! You can now play “Trials” (available in the main menu) in single-player mode and set your score! It gets to very challenging levels! Also there is a chat system in the game now that you can activate with the D-pad and send in-game messages to the other players! Hope you enjoy playing Havocado during the holidays!

Update #14: Tutorial, new weapons, new levels!
Update #14: New Tutorial, Ice Axe, Bug Fixes
Hey folks! We have a free weekend this weekend so expect an influx of new players. Mostly bug fixes this patch but we did add a new tutorial at the start of the game and a sweet new melee weapon, the ice axe.

Fixed some weird sound bugs with music stopping and Mute enabling itself randomly

Known Issues
In some rare circumstances invited players don’t notify the server when they are killed (exit and re-joining should fix this)
Hands and feet sometimes get stuck in various objects.This is a PhysX bug and we can’t fix it. BUT it is fixed in the next unity update so it will be fixed as soon as we update to Unity 2019.3.
Again, the game is FREE to play this weekend (December 7th and 8th)! Do not hesitate to invite your friends to try out the game, the whole point is to bring more players in the game for you to enjoy!

Update(s) #13: Wall Jump, Slo-mo, and Lasers
Hey all! We’ve been updating the build a bunch. The tuning has been in flux but it’s settling in now. Thanks to everyone who took the time to give us feedback!
Tuning Changes
Added a lot more air control to allow players to recover from falling off the level
Prone ‘butt slide’ doesn’t allow you to spin or move
Added wall jump for fast traversal
Base player speed down, acceleration up
Simplified kicking

Player scores now tracked and shown on screen. 10 points = win.

Hey everybody! The massive GUI update is live! We’ve completely redone the interface for creating and joining games of Havocado. This should make it easier to find a game to join and to generally get around in the game.
We’re also trying a totally different tuning for the game: it’s fast fast fast! You now automatically pick up weapons. You also HUCK stuff when you drop it now. Anything can be a weapon if you throw it accurately. We’ve added a dash move to the basic punch which helps to move around quickly and to dodge. We’ve also added a wall jump to make it easier to climb large structures and to make getting around easier. It’s pretty different. Let us know what you think!
Also due to multiple requests we’ve added a mouse-centric control scheme. If you join as a keyboard and mouse player, your character now aims at a cursor and uses WASD to strafe and move.

Update #11: Burning and Breaking Live!
Hey everybody!
Burnables and breakables are live on the main branch. Woo! This includes the new Bridge level as well as a bunch of fixes. The progress of making all the game objects breakable and burnable is ongoing so expect stuff that isn’t breakable yet to get there eventually. We’ve also altered the player on fire state.
We’ve also retuned the Havocado form, Backhoe, and Jetskis since they were feeling a bit weird after the PhysX upgrade. Feedback on those most welcome.

Update #10: Burning and Breaking (PREVIEW!)
Hey all! We’re ready to start rolling out two new, big, intertwined features: BURNING and BREAKING.
Breakables
Our intention has always been to make the environments destroyable. For this first version, we’re using a hand authored approach. That is, for each breakable object we design and build the broken version and hand tune it. This gives us a lot of control over how things break, though it is very time consuming. We’re investigating procedural mesh shattering but for now this method is stable, good for physics, and feels good. The main downside is time: it takes a while to authour broken versions of levels by hand.
Burnables
Flammable objects have come to Havocado. This system is really neat; each burnable object has a Propagation Matrix that determines how fire spreads through the world. This should lead to intuitive fire spreading throughout the level. We think it looks really cool! Leon has done a fantastic job authoring this system :). In addition, the player can now catch on fire. The player can also spread fire to other objects. The whole thing is a hilarious burning mess. We hope you enjoy it and find a bunch of new interactions we haven’t thought of yet.
As we work our way through the levels, we’re maintaining a Burn and Break playlist with levels that are currently being worked on. This will be set by default when the game boots, but you can switch back to All Levels by changing the playlist.
Note that this update is on the EXPERIMENTAL branch. We’ll push it to the main branch once it’s stable. Comment or hop on the Webble Games discord if you need help switching to this branch.

Hey all! This week’s updates is mostly art improvements and bug fixes. We’ve also tried out a new way of doing climbing - let us know what you think! It’s still not quite there but it feels like a different and good direction. We’ve also done some bug fixes and some improvements for the networked version of the player.

With this update Aqua has invaded. The weapon spawners are brimming with team Aqua’s favorite weapons: Shark Launchers, Water Sprayers, Crabthrowers, Eel Guns, and the elusive Sea King’s Trident. Enjoy!
