Update 2.1.0 Releases Soon!

2.1.0 IS OUT IN 1-2 DAYS FROM NOW!

It's been a crazy month and I'd like to thank you all for the feedback and the crazy positive reception of Hedon Bloodrite! I believe I have finally addressed all the reported bugs, so it's time for a patch! 2.1.0 is coming very soon, it should be out before this Wednesday, 09:00 GMT.

IMPORTANT

As always, updating GZDoom causes your saved games to break, so you have about a couple of days from now to back your game out of Steam or turn auto updating off. Unfortunately, I no longer have the option to set the game to not auto update from the developer end.
Are you reading this too late and your saves are already broken? Do not despair!
You can restore progress by starting a new game and selecting the testing hub, where you can choose any map to play and get proper gear for it!

UPDATE SUMMARY

- General engine-related fixes;
- Optimization for the final map, which includes breaking it down into 2 separate maps.
- Minor bug and typo fixes for many maps;
- Adjustments and balancing to monsters and weapons;

Hedon Bloodrite is Now Playable!

A new journey awaits...

Nithriel and her mangy cultists have given you a serious beating, but now that your home town has been saved, it's time to take the fight back at them! But can you stand against the imminent demonic invasion that is about to unleash upon the entire world?

IMPORTANT: You need to UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL HEDON for the update to work. Steam will then create a new folder 'Hedon Bloodrite' and thus allow you to keep your old Hedon version without messing any of the files and progress you had there.

It's been two crazy years of day-and-night development, and the final stretch was really grueling due to last moment PC issues but the day has finally arrived! Thanks a lot to everyone who supported and gave feedback and helped me improve the game during all this time!

We live in hard times so I figured it would be only fitting to reward you for playing Hedon by releasing this 12+ hour sequel as a FREE UPDATE, so if you enjoy it, don't forget to leave reviews and share the game with your friends and communities. It is your supreme duty to spread the word of the orc mommy ab enjoyers.

Hedon 2 Releases on August 30 as Free Update

[previewyoutube="Urn7VKNYC5A;full"]

Only Two Weeks Remain...

Thanks to everyone who dropped by the Realms Deep 2021 event and cheered for Hedon! Good news, the release is set for August 30!

And it's a free update!

Yep, you read it right. The whole game will be added to the same .exe as the first, in the form of an update! The base price will be changed from 9.99$ to 16.99$, so get it while it's still cheap!

IMPORTANT

Hedon will be updated to run on GZDoom 4.6.0. This might impact performance on older machines, and will most definitely break your old saved games! So make a backup of your current game folder, because this update will be set to apply automatically.

While you wait...

Come join our Guilded server to have a chat and hang out with fellow orc mommy abs enjoyers. I'm planning to fire it up with Hedon 2's release, and direct the future memetic operations from here :^)

Thanks to everyone!

Thank you for sticking around and spreading the word of Hedon! Now get ready - two weeks left until Bloodrite!
Stay thirsty :^)

Hedon 2 Releasing This Summer!

Release Date - Summer 2021

For the past year I've been pretty much working non-stop on Hedon's sequel, so things moved faster than expected. Bloodrite is set to release in the second half of summer 2021, depending on how long I want to extend with beta testing. The game will be playable from the same .exe as Hedon, since file size more than allows it, but I'm not sure whether it will be added to the main game with a price increase or as a separate download. Wait until release :^)

16 Hours of Hand-Crafted Singleplayer Experience

Hedon Bloodrite is pretty much Hedon on steroids, with larger levels, larger arsenal and bestiary, more world building and story and generally more... Hedon.

They messed up your home. It's your turn to mess theirs!

You'll be on the offensive now. Join the Iron Division remnants in a last ditch attempt to save the world from an imminent demonic invasion.

The world expands...

Get ready to explore the universe of Hedon further and learn more about the places and people who inhabit the mysterious underground world.

A touch of RPG

You will be able to talk to various characters and complete secondary objectives and hidden quests. Sometimes, your actions will affect the course of the game in subtle ways.

Lose yourself in the layers of the underworld

As a true successor, Bloodrite will expand on Hedon's already large levels, keeping up the visual variety and strong atmosphere. Creativity, wits and exploration will never go unrewarded. In addition to that, you will be able to go back and worth between certain levels, having the freedom to approach them in multiple ways.

Kick ass harder

You get a weapon that shoots 2100 bullets a minute. Kicking ass is the only option.

What is the fate of the underworld? Will Zan make the ultimate sacrifice to defeat the demons? Do male orcs exist?

These and many other questions will find their answer in the sequel. The best part is that you won't have to wait more than three months from now to find out!

Until then, stay thirsty... for Bloodrite!

1.6.0 Update - News From the Front

NOTE: Remember that updating has to be done manually through a clean reinstallation of Hedon, as the new content will break your save files. You should skip this update unless you want to start a new playthrough.

News From the Front

It's been a rough year, but Hedon is still going strong! The sequel you're all waiting for is nearly half-way finished, and thanks to my wonderful Patreon supporters who have been with me during this terrible pandemic, I can dedicate my full time to developing it!

And since waiting sucks, I have decided to release some of the content I'm working on so that you guys can have some fun! Just hit the in-game Testing Hub and check out the new weapons, items and allies inside, bearing in mind they are in a beta shape, and might change in the future. Your feedback is also welcome!

On top of this I have also made many small improvements to the existing maps, and fixed a few bugs for certain weapons and enemies. Most importantly, however, I have updated Akhzul's soundtrack with a remastered and improved version. And after your requests, he has finally uploaded it on his Bandcamp where you can now own it and support him!

1.6.0 Summary

- Many map, monster and weapon fixes and improvements;
- Updated the old Akhzul soundtrack with a remastered version;
- Added beta versions of the Paingun, Stormstaff and Bracer of the Revenant (can be obtained only in Testing Hub or via the give all/give weapons/give ammo cheat commands);
- Added beta versions of the Iron Division Fixer and Earth Mother. They can only be recruited inside the Testing Hub.

With this occasion, I will also be uploading a Demo for Hedon which will make it easier for people to get a feel of the game before they buy it. Tell your friends about it!

That's all for the time being, thanks to everyone for your attention and support, time for me to get back to work now!

Quad Damage Bundle!

QUAD DAMAGE BUNDLE - https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/15144/Quad_Damage_Bundle/

A short while ago we reached out to a couple of dev-friends that launched well received, gore-filled, fps games. The reason? To discuss the possibility of launching a new bundle. One that would collect all of our games and offer it at the best possible price to all the fans of the genre.

Five large email threads, tens of discord messages and some really cool concept art and brainstorming later we arrived at what you see before your eyes: the Quad Damage Bundle featuring the barbaric Elderborn, the half-orcish Hedon, the mysterious Nightmare Reaper and brooding Project Warlock.

Each game is a passion project by the creator, or a small handful of creators that managed to pour their heart and soul into lines of blood-sprayed and dismembered code. Do check them out.

This bundle is both about the chance to get all of these games at a reasonable price, and to discover titles you might not have been familiar with. So, without further ado: introducing four games to satiate your thirst for brutal, high-quality, no-nonsense fps.

Pry the secret of eternal youth from a cursed city as a powerful barbarian in Elderborn.

Take control of a pissed off Half-Orc in her quest to repel a cultist invasion in Hedon.

Solve the mystery of the nameless heroine in a mental asylum in Nightmare Reaper.

Face the minions of hell as a magic-wielding, gun-toting loner in Project Warlock.

Elderborn, Hedon, Nightmare Reaper and Project Warlock combine to bring you:

- 97 power-ups & skills !

- 101 weapons & spells !!

- 107 levels and stages !!!

- 120 enemies & bosses !!!!

Please remember: you only pay for the games you don’t yet own here. Also: for the best deal you might want to buy Quad Damage Bundle between 01.06-08.06!

1.5.2 Update - Testing Hub & Arena

NOTE: Remember that updating has to be done manually, as it can break your save files. You should skip this update unless you want to start a new playthrough.

[previewyoutube="3O-5opCkAmU;full"]

Testing Hub Features

The hub can be selected by starting a new game. Here are some of the features provided:
- Level select feature, which provides the proper weapons and gear, as well as appropriate spoiler warnings. Playing levels this way allows the player to take on extra gear, as well as companions, regardless of difficulty;
- Monster arena which allows the player to either summon enemies and test out weapons and consumables on them, or set up fights between two monster teams. A set of switches allows for the manual customization of the layout in real time;
- The arena also allows for a player vs. monsters endless mode scenario, complete with automatic arena layout randomization;
- There's also a permanent Patreon gallery and a jukebox that can play every soundtrack of the game so far.

Other Changes

- Weapon improvements and balancing, including new visual effects for the Fragfire Gun and Crushbow alt fires;
- Consumable adjustments involving duration, icon and even an effect change for the Choker of the Beast;
- Various map fixes and improvements, most notably the reduction of platforming difficulty in some areas coupled with a further increased air control.

See the full changelog here.

Let the games begin!

1.5.1 Hotfix Summary

- Adds a missing library for the Linux version;

As you may know, Hedon released on GOG recently, and you have the chance to link your Steam copy to your GOG account. This feature is only available for 7 days (between 5 and 12 November).

You can check this feature out here.

Make sure that your privacy settings on Steam are set to public (both games and profile!) in order for GOG to be able to pick it up. If it doesn't work right away, try again after a few hours. If the issue persists you should contact GOG Support.

Thanks! Have fun!
