Two weeks have passed since we have announced the upcoming testing of the alpha-version of Hellsplit: Workbench. We have got a great amount of applications from you for the testing and it is very pleasant for us to realize that you like what we do and you support us in all our plans regarding the future development of our game!

Today we want to announce that we decided to prolong the application period for the testing of Hellsplit: Workbench for 1 more week, till March 24th, so you have a great opportunity to become those modders, whose content will appear in the game among the first!

And of course we would like to tell you more about the possibilities of our SDK. Did you ask us to add a modern firearms? You can easily create it yourself based on the templates which will be available in the SDK right from the start!




You are not really interested in the weapon and dream of level making? Creation of beautiful and interesting locations is rather simple thanks to modern options of Unreal Engine. Moreover, the entire content used in Hellsplit: Arena will be available in Hellsplit: Workbench as well, including additional 3D-model libraries. You do not need to spend hours online searching for necessary level models - just take the ready-made ones and start creating the levels right away!



Or may be you dream of your own sport VR simulator? Even that is possible, everything is limited only by your own phantasy!

Only 4 months ago we announced the development of our own Mod SDK called Hellsplit: Workbench. And today we are glad to inform you that the alpha-version of SDK is practically ready to be released and we are about to start the closed testing of it! In this regard, we invite all interested to take part in the testing of the alpha-version of Hellsplit: Workbench. The only requirement for the candidates is the desire to make interesting mods for our game.

Hellsplit: Arena "Daggers" Update 1.18 released

Hello, dear friends!



As you already know, we are now actively working on the development of our Mod SDK, but before it is released we wanted to please you with another update. Something that you have asked us for a long time has happened - the Daggers โš” are added to the game! Being available from the very beginning of the game, having a light weight and rather low striking power, they become at the same time an ultimative weapon due to their lightness and easiness to use. Thanks to its sharp blade, daggers can easily stab the enemy's ringmail, as well as the skeletons skulls, what makes them a perfect helper in the battle against the armored enemies.



Moreover, we have tried to make it as convenient as possible and added new mechanics to the game - interception of the weapon on the fly. All that you need to do is to push the button of the secondary action when gripping the weapon with one hand. Now the two most lightweighted swords have the same abilities - Short Sword ะธ Nordic Sword and also Francisca axe.



In this update we paid special attention to the stabbing system (largely it is because we wanted to expand the possibilities of our system for the forthcoming Mod Kit). E.g. multi-stabbing has been added to the game, which allows you to literally pin the enemy with the sword or arrows to the wall and determine his fate. In general, the stabbing system has become more stable and comfortable. Hopefully you will like this update!

  • Vulnerable areas of the armored enemies are edited, now it is easier to pierce them
  • Behaviour of the stabbed enemies is fixed, now they cannot get up while you are holding the weapon.
  • The weight of the skeletons is changed, now they can be easily manipulated when gripped
  • The cage on the Torture map is fixed

We have some interesting news for you! As we mentioned earlier, at the moment our team is actively working on the development of our own Mod SDK which is named Hellsplit: Workbench. In the future this software will be available for all interested and everyone will be able to develop his own mods and share them with the community. Until then the early versions of Hellsplit: Workbench will be available to alpha-testers.

We have told you earlier about one of such teams - they call themselves Shadow Team and work on the development of their own complete campaign for Hellsplit: Arena called Shadowside: Screaming Isles. The specificity of this project lies also in the fact that it is created not only on the standard assets of the game, the mod developers actively integrate new mechanics, animated NPC's, inventory, economics and, of course, interesting tasks in the great new world! You can see it by yourself by watching their promo video!

Return of the Halloween Witch!

The most terrifying night of the year is coming and all sorts of evil spirits have left their hideouts again to challenge us! They armed themselves with pitchforks, put pumpkin helmets on their heads and are hungry for the new battles. And this time they are not alone - our old friend, The Witch, came back with them. Our old-timers remember how much trouble she has caused at the time of her previous appearance. In our turn we are well-prepared for her return, because now we have bows and firearms! But that's not all. Look for a Special Witch as with her help you can rise high to the stars and rain down a whole firestorm on your enemies!

Road to Mods! Hellsplit: Arena Workbench alpha under development.

Great news for everyone!



The HSA team has always listened closely to the wishes of our players and, whenever possible, met their needs and wants. However, some of the particularly complicated areas require thourough preparation and comprehensive check of the issue. Therefore, we were forced to keep the development of the system for supporting user modifications (mods) to our game in secret for a long time. We had to make sure that it was possible from the technical point of view and we also needed to refine the basic part of the game (integration of the necessary mechanics). Aside from that, the bureaucratic issues have taken a lot of time, as we needed to get permission from Epic Games to distribute a modified version of their engine. All this did not give us the opportunity to tell the community about this area of โ€‹โ€‹work in advance.



We consider it important to describe the capabilities of the new system. Our modding system is largely unique and complex. It includes the following main components:

  • A flexible and versatile custom modification toolkit (SDK) called Hellsplit Workbench that allows you to:
    - create and integrate almost any custom content, ranging from classic weapons to complex equipment (from a tank or submarine to a spaceship)
    - create game levels (both from scratch and based on the existing content in the game)
    - create custom scenarios (from simple training missions to complete game campaigns and even your own modes)
    - create your own characters (avatars, enemies)
    - customize, replace and add your own sounds and music
  • A simple and intuitive system for searching, installing and managing modifications (integrated into the game itself, which is important) is provided for those who are not interested in the creative process, but at the same time are willing to see the results of the creativity of others.
  • For those who wish to help other members of the community in creating their modifications, we plan to integrate the ability to share mod sources.
  • From the developers side the availability of a basic set of full-fledged mods already at the start (i.e. immediately after launch) is guaranteed.





The work on mods is currently at the stage of the so-called internal testing. This means that developers, among other things limited by legal issues, had to find primary SDK testers among their close friends. It is they who are currently creating their mods with the help of our toolkit. Upon completion of this stage (and this is planned to be done by the end of the year), we plan to arrange testing of the SDK already among the members of the gaming community. And if successful results will be achieved, we plan to make the toolkit available to everyone without exception.

All the news connected with the development of HSA Workbench will be primarily updated on our Discord channel. In the same place we are creating a new channel where we will share the testing results with you. Join us to keep up with the news!

PhysX crash problem fixed!

As many of you know, our game, despite constant updates and improvements, still has a number of technical problems. One of them is a crash as a result of the physics scene update. Recognizing this error is quite easy: the game closes and the crash reporter opens, which contains approximately the following text:

Usually, this error is not directly tied to any specific actions or time of the game. It can occur both at the very beginning of the game, and after some time. At the same time, some players note that more often this problem appears under specific conditions, for example, by splitting a zombie in half with a claymore ๐Ÿคบ . Anyway, regardless of the time and frequency of its appearance this problem occurs by all players, and has already got on the player's and developers' nerves and ruined the mood of the both parties.

So, after numerous appeals, we finally managed to fix it! Now the game should work stable without annoying physics crashes. Hope you enjoy it and have a nice play! โš”

Hellsplit: Arena Update 1.17 released


Dear friends, brave warriors and fighters of the undead!

A lot of time has passed since our previous update, we have been working hard on improving the core mechanics of the game and increasing its interactivity, and now we are glad to present you our new update - 1.17! In this update, we have added a completely new type of weapon to the game - firearms. Pistol, Hand Cannon, Duplet, Rifle and Sniper Rifle are now at your disposal. These types of weapons will be a good help in the battle with the undead in addition to the classic swords, axes and hammers!

Moreover, we have added a new core mechanic to the game - climbing. Its potential is difficult to fully realize on existing maps so far, but its availability opens up great opportunities for further updates of our game.

In each of our updates, we try not just to add small improvements to the game, but to introduce truly new game mechanics, the main goal of which is to prepare the game for subsequent major changes that will significantly change the gameplay, gaming process and give players a completely new experience.
