This update fixes a game braking bug related to item use. There is also a new interface for auto attacking, making it per-player setting rather than a global option. Let me know what you think!

This update a few usability tweaks and lots of fixes and improvements to skill descriptions. Many skills now show more information about exactly they affect your characters.
Step by step I'm fixing all the little gaps and unfinished features, and I'll try and keep up this steadier pace of updates. I have a long back log of issues to address and am trying to focus on broken or missing features before I move on to balance and polish chagnes.

One of the systems I added early on was tracking player stats - number of kills, skills used, etc. - but I never got around to fully integrating the system, until now! Existing games will not have a complete set of stats as only a few were tracked properly, but they'll still update as you continue your games. You can see the summary from the quest dialog (the (?) button) or an individual character's stats from their status screens. Let me know what you think!
This patch also has a few quality of life improvements related to sorting equipment by added hit points, plus the usual round-up of bug fixes.
I'm hoping to continue my ~fortnightly update pace for as long as I can and keep the momentum up until the game is done!

Ringing in 2026 - the year I really and truly hope to leave early access - with a new update!
The 0.8.x set of updates will continue for a while, but not that much longer I hope. My goal before moving on to the 0.9.x updates is to make sure all features are working as intended, fix all known major bugs and basically have the game work as intended.
Let me know what you think of the new save game layout - it's meant to be easier to use with lots of save games.

Another round of bug fixes, huge shout out to everyone who's been submitting bug reports in game or on the forums. I've been working my way through the back log of reported bug, so expect a few more bug fix updates over the next few weeks. I'm not sure I'll be able to keep up this weekly update cadence, but I'll try!

Version 0.8.5 is now out, this update adds over 30 new hero starting traits that give each hero a bit more background and even some small bonuses. Also added are "moments" - events in a hero's history added when they participate in special quests or in-game events.
One more round of fixes...
I was going to wait until I had the next half-finished feature completed - in this case the hero origin stories and associated bonuses - but in the meantime ended up with enough fixes that it seemed worth pushing a release. I also want to try and keep semi-regular updates even if no major features are completed.
There's nothing major in this release - just a set of fixes and minor improvements - but still another step forward to completion.
The next release should round out the hero creation stories. After that will be hero moments - special perks earned by heroes during their adventures, like completing dungeons or quests.
Finally a big thank you for everyone who has been filing bugs and providing feedback!

Another step forwards - this update brings fixes for some long standing bugs (missing heads!) as wells as some improvements to the dungeon mapping by adding cauldrons and treasure. Anvils should now also always be an upgrade to equipment, not a re-mix of existing items.

This screen shows all the upgrades, additions and even the details about the jobs that can be trained, all in one screen.
