Version 0.5.11 finishes off some over world features, finally replacing some placeholder art on the world. Fixing some world gen visual glitches, as well as the usual smattering of bug fixes. Thank you everyone who has reported issues!
This patch is also the last (planned) in the 0.5.x series as I'll switch over to rounding out dungeons, focusing on fixing up content and adding some variety to dungeon exploration.
I'm hoping that 2024 is also the year I can wrap up development and leave early access. There's still a lot to do but this update adds the finishing touches on the world generation, and finally I'll move on to finishing up dungeon generation. So the end is in sight, and if all goes well this year there's a chance the game will be finished this year, wish me luck!
Version 0.5.11 includes:
Fix custom difficulty settings not getting applied properly
Updated some world art, now caves/dungeons show their active state better
Fix unearthed crypt reward from being claimable multiple times
Fix ranger camp quest
River crossings should now generated correctly
More quick fixes
Another patch with some quick fixes, this time fixing some issues with bridges not working correctly sometimes.
Thanks to everyone reporting issues!
Version 0.5.10.3 changes:
Fix bridges not building in some cases
Fix issue when multiple bridges were on the same location
Just some quick fixes!
Version 0.5.10.2 updates:
Fix potential crash when using portals
Fix broken Spiders world event
Fix key bindings
Quick fix for keyboard bindings not working in dungeons.
That wasn't so difficult
Version 0.5.10 is now released.
The main addition is customizable difficult settings, so you can make the game as easy or hard as you like! Some additional world customization options have also been added. There are still a few world fixes and improvements to make before closing off 0.5.x updates. If all goes well I'll hopefully wrap up world changes by the end of the year and move on to 0.6.x and dungeon content.
Custom difficult settings
World generation options for location frequency
Adjust how Inns affect recruits
Sounding better?
This patch adds song long needed audio to the world. Locations should all have sounds now, including buildings in your town, making the world more lively and fleshed out. There are also some fixes to world graphics and an improvement to world generation time. Also hopefully some crashes users of Linux and Steamdeck might now be fixed.
The 0.5.x series will continue to focus on world fixes and polish. Some of the upcoming changes are fixing some more graphics issues (such as overlapping rivers) and distinguishing better between active and inactive locations.
Version 0.5.9
World audio updates, sounds added for almost all locations
Fix sorting artifacts with some world objects
Disable full stack trace logging on errors (potential Linux Proton/Wine fix)
Fix some scripts, improving world generation time
Fixes for larger worlds
Version 0.5.8 is mostly a set of fixes to issues introduced in version 0.5.7. Hopefully this addresses most of the issues that larger worlds caused.
Thank you everyone who filed bug reports! They make fixes so much easier and faster.
Fix issues where world map was not properly displayed after leaving a dungeon
Fix world gen issue causing weird water placement
Fix some world map visibility issues
Fix town resurrection costing too many crystals
Fix some character portrait not rendering issues
Larger worlds
It's been too long since the last update, so I'm happy to finally get this out there.
The changes won't seem like much - world customization and larger fragments - but it's an important step in finishing off the core features.
Unfortunately larger worlds broke a lot of assumptions that much of the rest of the game had and broke many limits, which is why it took so long to release. There a still a few known issue in world generation that were caused by this change but game play braking and they're mostly related to aesthetics.
I expect the frequency of updates will be shorter from now on!
Quick fix for a broken build.
Version 0.5.5 was a bit broken - sorry! The breaking issues should be fixed with this patch.
Fix initial recruit screen
Light element lighting adjusted
Light avatar look minor adjustment
Heroes recovered from dungeons now go to nearest town
Difficult enough?
The 0.5.5 update brings the first set of proper difficulty levels, so you can take it a little easy or give yourself an "impossible" challenge! Custom difficulty will come a bit later one a few more settings have been hooked up to the difficult settings.
Difficulty settings are now fully enabled
Numerous tweaks to equipment prices
Fix tool tip windows going off screen
Fix for large stats getting cut off in player stats screen
