Dear friends! I'm aware of an issue with some players experiencing a black screen when launching Hero's Story. This issue is related to the inability to start intro cinematic and will be fixed in the next update!

For players who missed a particular cinematic, the ability to replay them from the main menu will be added.

8th of July Hotfix

Greetings, Heroes! Today, a one more small update was released for Hero's Story.

It fixes bugs related to player convenience. Now you can see all descriptions of items in the inventory, and the buttons from the item menu will not be covered by icons.
I also fixed a few spelling mistakes.

I think I'll take a short break before releasing the next big update.

Greetings, Heroes! Today, a small update was released for Hero's Story.

It fixes performance drops when some achievements are counted, fixes some AI and chest loot issues, and finally adds additional treasures to Hamuraptra.

26th of June Hotfix

Greetings, Heroes! Today, a small update was released for Hero's Story.

It fixes the main bugs of the release version, including the bug with saving the player's progress, bugs with saving quests and the inability to complete some of them.
It will also no longer be possible to buy 99 arrows for 60 gold from the merchant.
Please note that you may have to re-enter the location or defeat the Fallen Knight again for all the changes to take effect.

I will continue to work on the game and monitor player's feedback on social networks.

Hero's Story Release

Greetings, Heroes! Finally, this day has come.

Today the full version of Hero's Story has become available to players.
In the release version, players have access to the tutorial, a new region - the Swamp of Myths, and the opportunity to defeat the final boss and complete the game!
Also, new achievements, enemies, items were added, and a large number of various bugs were fixed.
Controller support was improved and localization was supplemented. Class balance and loot from monsters were also adjusted.
Note that this is not the last version of the game, and after the launch, various fixes and updates will be released for Hero's Story.

DESTROYER OF WORLDS

TUTORIAL





Join the ranks of the Royal Guard and become a skilled warrior to fight the enemies of the kingdom, explore the world and search for artifacts!
You will undergo training in the Arsenal, where you will learn movement, exploration and the basics of combat. Our best instructors will lead you through a series of simple tests, after which you will be able to confidently enter the lands of Teandria.
Hero's Story players have long been asking for a tutorial system, and in the full version this request has finally been fulfilled. All new players in Hero's Story will be offered to complete the tutorial (or if you delete your save). Good luck in the game!

SWAMP OF MYTHS





In the north of the kingdom of Teandria there is a poisonous magical swamp, in which ancient evil lurks. This ominous place is covered in misty darkness and filled with twisted magic, permeated with toxic fumes! The wild inhabitants of this inhospitable place handle powerful spells, which fills the hearts of even the bravest adventurers with anxiety.
Among the ominous branches and spreading bushes rises the formidable temple of Hamuraptra - an ancient sanctuary, where ancient spells still sound like an eternal echo.
Whoever dares to cross the swamp and enter the ancient temple will open the doors to old magic and secrets, but will also sacrifice his soul on the altar of everlasting evil...

Hero's Story Release Date

Great Dragon Update

Greetings, Heroes.

Today a major update was released for Hero's Story.
This update added a new region - Isil Plateau, as well as the new items and enemies, new locations and sounds, lockpicking mechanics and a new boss - the Great Dragon!
This is a big update that fixes many bugs and significantly changes the balance of the combat system. This will most likely be the last update before the full game is released.
Let me remind you that the full version of Hero's Story will have a complete storyline, tutorial and a final boss.

GREAT DRAGON





It was always possible to get through the Isil Gorge into the Swamp of Myths via a single bridge, built during the Old Era.
Rumor has it that a huge dragon recently settled on this bridge! This winged monster has killed many knights and now terrorizes the lands of Central Teandria.
The king will generously reward anyone who can crush or drive away the powerful creature. In the battle with the dragon, potions of protection from fire and magic will help you.

NEW REGION





The mountain range north of Enthor divides the lands of Central Teandria into a few separate regions.
One of these areas is the Isil Plateau, which will be available to players in this update!
The new region consists of several zones and includes several new locations, including an abandoned hut on a hill and a troll cave on a cliff.
Only the most experienced adventurers will be able to defeat all the enemies in this area and collect all of the treasures.

LOCKPICKING





During your adventures in the lands of Central Teandria, you probably came across locked chests.
Now you can try to open these chests using a new item - lockpick.
The more valuable the contents of the chest, the more difficult it is to unlock it! Lockpicks can be obtained from chests or found in different caches.

Fallen Knight Update

Today Hero's Story is one step closer to release.
New update adds a third boss, in-game cutscenes and localization system.
Also, the size of the game installation files has been reduced by almost half - and nothing has been cut from the game! This is an important update that fixes many significant bugs, removes some restrictions and generally makes life better for players!

OLD KNIGHT





The Kriege family crypt had once seen better days. Now this place is guarded only by king’s revived soldiers, restless servants and revived renegade magicians.
They say that the old knight himself still wanders in dungeons of the family crypt in Expanse! Who can get into the dungeon and put ghost of the past to rest forever?

LOCALIZATION SYSTEM





In the new version game now will have a localization system. This means that players will now be able to change the language in game settings in the main menu.
Localization affects in-game texts, interface and various materials. There are only two options available for now, but more languages may be supported in the future.
The game itself will also try to determine most suitable language when you first launch the updated version.

IN-GAME CUTSCENES





In-game cutscenes play important role in any modern game. They designed to, for example, indicate the path, introduce a new enemy or a boss and also simply make the story more entertaining!
It is worth noting that in the full version of Hero's Story there will be more in-game cutscenes. All in-game cutscenes are made using game engine.

Steam Awards 2023

Greetings, Heroes!

The annual Steam Awards will begin soon. You can vote for Hero's Story in the "Favorite Child" category - I will be very pleased!

Today, exactly 4 years and 1 month have passed since the release of Hero's Story on Steam Early Access. I hope this is the last anniversary before the full version of the game comes out! During this time, 50 updates were released for the game (including hotfixes), which added new content, fixed bugs, and changed balance.

At the moment I am working on a large 1.1 update, in which I plan to add a new boss, localization system and in-game cutscenes.



You can already play test version of the update in a separate branch of the application.
