Steam Playtest ends February 17
The Steam playtest ends Thursday, February 17.
Thank you to all of our testers, especially those that reported issues and gave us thoughtful feedback.
If you're a tester and want to keep playing, fret not:
The free demo will have multiplayer and daily challenges enabled for the Steam Next Fest from February 21-28.

Card Art
All of the units have new card illustrations done by Tom van der Linden (www.tomvanderlinden.com)
UI Changes
Most UI art has changed to be cleaner and more consistent
UI fonts have been changed
Card colors have been changed some
Redraw hand now has a confirmation dialog
Menu rearranged
Unit size reduced
Balance Changes
Enslave, Sacrifice, and Gift of the Nile can now only target the same tile once per turn
Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug where you could have invisible resources in your inventory
Card costs changed by Rome's Infrastructure ability will now be reset if drawn again the same turn
Fixed a bug where Rome's Infrastructure ability could effect a destroyed card
Fixed a bug an alert about paying resources to your city would pop up while events played
Fixed a bug where the card selected on research wouldn't show up in your hand until you picked up a different card
Fixed a bug where floating text wouldn't pop up on unit stacks sometimes
Misc
The Scout now has a dog
The dog escapes if the Scout dies

Improved card readability
Resource sale events are now grouped together
Added historical quotes to Tech and Civic cards
Slowed down some card and resource animations
Font and some card illustration changes
Error text improvements
Removed flashing green circle indicating a city has a citizen that can be moved for free (nobody knew what it went)
Road costs turn red when you can't afford the road you're drawing
Tutorial Changes
Tutorial difficulty reduced
Tutorial engine improved to better handle unpredictable player behavior
Tutorial tips can be disabled after the first time you play the tutorial
Tips displayed in the tutorial will no longer be displayed again in a normal game unless you select "Reset Tips"

Can no longer give food and luxury resources to enemy cities

We're excited to announce that we'll be launching a Kickstarter on March 14 to push Hexarchy across the 1.0 finish line.
If you're interested in being a part of the final phase of the game's development, follow us on Kickstarter by clicking the Notify me on launch button. More followers will help us out with the Kickstarter algorithms.
Some of the main things we'll be using the Kickstarter funds for:
- Building out the missing game systems and tech tree - Another unique ability per Civ, a unique unit per Civ, and possibly a unique passive bonus - Localization - Original soundtrack - Original card illustrations for all cards in the game

New Leader Portraits
Replaced perhaps our most egregious pieces of placeholder art with original professional portraits that are quite fetching
This is part of the increased diversity between civs that is coming in future updates
Bug Fixes and Minor Improvements
Fixed issues that could occur when you pillage one of your own cities
Added an on-mouseover popup for the glowing red resource icons that mean you have unpaid maintenance on a hex
Invalid order error message improvements
Removed the war status icons since you're always at war
