Beta Has a Date & We Need Your Help!
Today we need your help to give us feedback on what kind of reward tiers you would like to see in a kickstarter campaign. Yes that is right, kind of an unofficial announcement that one is coming very soon. Later this month or early May. But of course to stay true and consistent we need to be open and transparent with the community and what is going on, which is why we are asking for your input on these rewards tiers. Let it be known that these are not final and can change. They have already gone through a few iterations with the @Moderator @Senior Members & @Contributors from our discord which if you haven't joined you must so you can stay up to date! https://discord.gg/AmZhaQP
Also, there may be some general layout/typos/inconsistencies which is another one of the reasons we are sharing it with you guys. Thank you for your interest and your help! Much appreciated!
Please provide your feedback in the #hod-general channel of our discord and we'll be sure to interact with you there. After you take a look at the imgur gallery you will notice that the price of the game has been settled on and some dates are listed; yes we are planning beta in July and a release at the latest of October 2018 (shooting for earlier than that though).
We do not have the final numbers of what our goal will be, but we can tell you that we are somewhere around the ~$60k mark and the final number will change once we finish calculating everything up. We are calculating expenses down to the penny, ZERO cost-of-living expenses/salaries will be asked for in the kickstarter, only funds to pay freelancers/hire developers to finish the game to a high quality will be included in the final calculation.
Discord Alpha: Post-Mortem
As we promised a few days ago the Alpha Post-Mortem has arrived. This is a long read with lots of images and a couple videos so we are not able to post it here or on discord due to character limits. This is also our first post on our subreddit /r/HideOrDie
The CSS of the subreddit is not finished and is just a placeholder for now, so if you know anyone who is talented with that sort of thing hit us up!
So please head on over to our subreddit, subscribe, and read through the post-mortem. We hope you enjoy this behind the scenes look and learn a thing or two about our team. We will have an announcement shortly about how we can be more vocal about our development process and share it with all of you. We hope you enjoy the post-mortem!
All of the alpha keys have now been revoked. As we have announced previously the alpha would run for one week from March 13th through March 20th. We had some chaos on key distribution on the first day so we ended up extending the alpha through the 21st and have now concluded the alpha testing phase.
We want to thank each one of you who participated in the alpha and provided bug reports, feedback, feature suggestions, videos, streams, and all around good times in the chats. All of our channels we set up for the alpha will be archived and viewable to devs only as we sift through them and implement/fix the things all of you posted. We will have an alpha post-mortem coming within the next couple of days detailing the entire process of the alpha, stats, and things we will improve on going forward.
With the keys being revoked, if you had previously wishlisted us but received an alpha key HOD would have been removed from your wishlist. That is about 500 of you actually! We would really appreciate it if you could go back into steam and wishlist us again so we can better track the interest in the game, more easily allow us to get keys from Valve, and help support us! If you haven't previously wishlisted us but are here and interested in the game it would be greatly appreciated if you could wishlist us as well.
Thanks again to those in our discord for your support, your help, and your feedback. We can't make the game without you. We look forward to you sticking around as we implement a more regular schedule of updates and news posts to keep you informed of our progress and what's to come in the near future!

Alpha v1.1 Released - Alpha Update
v1.1 is live! Big milestone, 10 updates since launch day 4 days ago! We added some stuff that mostly helps us. We would have loved to have this version be our launch version because so much has been fixed thanks to all of your feedback.
Changelist:
-Changed the tooltip at end game to better explain whether all the escapes are occupied or all of the remaining survivors have escaped.
-Gave us control over the server max player count from our backend system so we don't need you to update the game to change that. We may organize some playtests and do some stress testing with 20+ people in a server
-The game now checks for updates when you return to the main menu. This way if hotfixes are deployed you will be able to know about them in-between your games.
-40% Longer time on screen for end game messages
An update on the alpha, The alpha will be extended by one day to account for the chaos on launch day, it will end on March 21st 9am EST and all keys will be revoked at that time and we'll put together an alpha post mortem. If Valve approves our additional key requests before the alpha finishes we will extend it through the weekend and it will end March 26th 9am EST. This will most likely be the last patch for the alpha, because we have branched off of it and are implementing more bug fixes, and features that break systems in the current alpha build.
Valve only approves key requests on weekdays. We will keep you updated.
