Himeko Sutori

Patch notes 21 December 2021

Most of our updates today are laying the foundation for the upcoming expansion. Here's what's new:

  • Fixed some of the code in the load-game system. Some important actions took place while waiting for streaming levels to load. In case a campaign doesn't have streaming levels, the game wouldn't load correctly. We moved that code so that the game will load correctly whether the campaign has streaming levels or not.
  • Fixed some edge cases with the load-game system. Previously as a failsafe we would re-load the game if the load failed and then manually copy information into the new game. When this happened, it resulted in long load times. We have fixed the quirks in the load-game system and it now runs faster and cleaner without ugly behind-the-scenes hacks.
  • Integrated the save/load system into the new Septaroad Voyager (SRV) campaign.
  • Lots of new equipment in the SRV campaign, with stats and unique sprite sheets.
  • Fully filled unique skill boards for each SRV character class. You can explore the skill boards with the console command "GiveSkillPoints ___" to give your character skill points to unlock new equipment and abilities. This command works with your currently controlled character--not the character selected in the menu.
  • New particle effects timed to the faster combat in SRV.
  • Added new summoning skills to SRV. Druids can summon fairies, wolves, and dragons during combat. Illusionists can summon zombies, skeletons, and ghosts. Warlocks can summon imps, demons, and demon lords.

We are reaching the point where we'll be able to start building the new SRV campaign itself. Keep watching for more updates.

Patch notes 8 December 2021

Yesterday and today we added a couple small changes:

  • If you have mods loaded and you change the active campaign, the game will inform you if the mods are compatible with the new campaign.
  • Increased speed of both normal and fast battle speed settings.
  • Fixed a bug that would allow you to recruit multiple copies of Asher from Anvil Gate.

Patch notes 23 November 2021

Today's patch added the following:

  • Added the Cen Rune to the loot tables of top-tier demon, undead, and wolf armies.
  • Added fairy forest encounters to the Yamatai and ice world maps, with new loot tables for those areas, with a 50% chance of receiving a Cen Rune.
  • Added the Cataclysm greathammer to the loot drops of top-tier demon and undead armies.

And we added a lot to the content files of the upcoming expansion. More news on that coming soon.

Additional language support!

We are continuing to add new functionality and support to Himeko Sutori. Today we announce official support for Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese. Now more players from around the world can enjoy the game in their native language. If you prefer to play in any of these languages, go ahead and change your preferences from the main menu. And if you notice any problems with the localizations, please let us know so we can improve the game.

As always, thank you very much for your support and for being part of the Himeko Sutori community.

Patch notes 16 October 2021

Yesterday and today we uploaded a couple small patches that changed the following:

  • Fixed a bug that could have caused some players to have the wrong font in the user interface.
  • The game remembers the camera distance and rotation when you go into a building, and reloads that information when you exit the building. The camera distance also no longer resets when you start a battle.

Starting a Major Overhaul

Today we added the first major overhaul to prepare Himeko Sutori for an upcoming free expansion. We completely remade the main menu based on your feedback and we will be using this style of menu in the not-yet-officially-named expansion.

The new main menu is 100% navigable using only the controller, if that's your preference. And it works just as well using mouse and keyboard. The language menu is easier to find. And everything is faster and more responsive.

There may still be a few kinks to work out (like the abrupt camera clipping when loading a game), but we think this is the right direction for the future of Himeko Sutori.

If you have any feedback for us, please let us know!

Himeko Sutori now with Steam Workshop Integration

Thanks to the hard work of Himeko Sutori community member Soli, we are glad to announce Himeko Sutori's integration with Steam Workshop. It has never been easier to download new mods and share your own with the community.

Check out the first mods available here. Subscribe to your favorite mods and Steam will download them for you automatically. Open Himeko Sutori from Steam and you'll see the new option to launch the Mod Loader where you can enable and disable the mods you've downloaded. Then, when you're ready to make your own mods, you can upload them to Steam Workshop using the Mod Publisher.

Both the Mod Loader and Mod Publisher were generously provided by Soli, an avid Himeko Sutori fan and modder. Please drop in at our Workshop Discussion page or the Himeko Sutori Discord to thank Soli, get modding tips, and to discuss your favorite mods. We look forward to seeing you there!

Patch notes 7 July 2021

Today we updated the dressing rooms so that their character sheet and functionality match the pause menu. In the dressing rooms, you can now see attack bonuses and you can equip and unequip items by dragging them on or off the equipment slots. You can also equip off-hand weapons automatically by right-clicking on them in the vendor inventory window.

Patch notes 1 July 2021

Yesterday and today we rearranged the character sheets to fix some misalignments, condense the stat block, and add attack bonuses. We also added tooltips for attack bonuses and localization entries for all of the new information. We also added some new small bonuses to all classes' level-ups.

Patch notes 24 June 2021

Today we added a console command to disable permadeath. If you want to disable permadeath in your game, open the console with ~ or F1. Type in "EnablePermadeath false" and press enter. Now when your characters "die" in combat, they will just be teleported out of the battle. This setting will persists after closing the game, so you will only need to type the command once.
