Patch notes 9 February 2021

Today's patch added the following:

  • Fixed collision at the Scrapper Gate which was causing some of your characters to fall into the geometry during the battle. That may have been part of what was causing crashes during the battle.
  • Fixed hit point bars for gates and obstacles. These were not displaying correctly. It is not likely that this bug was contributing to stability problems at the aforementioned battle, but this bug certainly led to some ugly repeated errors in the logs.
  • Fixed a bug preventing your characters from returning to their start locations after performing a melee attack. This bug, combined with the first bug, may have caused the crashes at the Scrapper Gate battle.
  • Loaded collision geometry at the Sunrise Falls tavern second floor before the level itself is visible. This prevents the bug that was causing some of you to fall off the stairs when trying to go to the second floor.
  • Slower "normal" walking speed.

Today we added an auto-level-up option and faster card drawing animations. We also fixed another collision bug.

Today we added the following:

  • HP and XP bars drawn purely in code instead of using Flash. Hopefully the reduction in Flash UI elements being drawn on the screen will alleviate the pressure on the Flash player that results in crashes when illusionists or similar classes spam AoE attacks with debuffs.
  • Changed color of HP bars to be more readable by people with red-green colorblindness.
  • Fixed collision in several places to prevent out-of-map bugs.
  • Added druid vendor to South Point Crossing.
  • Fixed retreating units to retreat and hold position instead of wandering back and forth.
  • Localization updates.
  • Edit: And we just uploaded a patch that fixes the fast movement speed option. If you set fast movement speed, your character and her followers will now move around town much faster.
  • Edit: Fixed runed dragonbone club recipe. Should now be craftable.
  • Edit: Added lots more gem drops. The desert dungeon battle maps especially are a good place to look. Goblin and demon armies also drop gems now.
  • Edit: Fixed collision in the oasis workshop
  • Edit: Added option to disable selecting next squad automatically with the console command "SetDisableSelectNextSquad true"





Patch notes 4 February 2021

Today we changed the following:

  • The game will now scrub quotation marks out of strings input by the user. The quotation marks had corrupted a player's saved game.
  • Added equipment vendor to Sunrise Gate Outpost.
  • Updated lighting on druid altar in desert area, so it doesn't glow at night.

Today we added the following:

  • You can now advance quests without intermediate steps. This should help clear the early Bellamy quest that was not advancing for people who visited Ellismuir after encountering Bellamy.
  • Added dragon bones to the loot drops of enemy armies that contain dragons.
  • Fixed collision in several locations.
  • Localization updates.
  • Edit: And we just fixed the tab button so that if you have one last lance with move remaining, and it's the lance you currently have selected, and you press tab, it will keep that lance selected instead of telling you to end turn. (Or ending your turn if you have used the console command SetAutoEndTurn true.)

Patch notes 2 February 2021: More music variety, fixed collision

In our latest patch today we added a greater variety of music, with more music changes around towns and taverns, and a few previously unused songs now play in a couple of places. We also fixed collision in a few spots where you could get stuck or fall out of the map.

Patch notes 2 February 2021--IF YOUR SAVED GAME LOADS INTO A SHOP YOU WEREN'T IN

There were two bugged shops in the Icy Reach. If you tried to enter either of them, you may have loaded a shop level that did not unload. When you load a saved game after trying to visit the bugged shops, you may end up in a shop you weren't in when you saved the game. If that happens, open the console with ~ or F1. Then type in this command and press enter:

ce UnloadAlchemistShop

That should close the shop level and teleport you back to the start of the town map. If you need to get back to the world map, then type this command next:

ce ReturnToWorldMap

That should get you back to where you need to be.

Patch notes 2 February 2021--NOTE: IF YOUR GAME CRASHES WHEN ILLUSIONISTS ATTACK

Hi everyone. We've got a quick patch for you right now. It adds two options for you.

If your game crashes when illusionists attack, or when you see a lot of status effects popup at the same time, use this console command. To open the console, press ~ or F1. Type in "SetDisableStatusPopups true" (without quotes) and press enter. That should stop the crashes during combat. And some of you who aren't experiencing crashes might try this too and may decide you like the less cluttered combat space.

Next is an option to end your combat turn automatically when all of your lances have moved. To enable this, open the console with ~ or F1. Type in "SetAutoEndTurn true" (without quotes) and press enter.

We will put these options in the options menu soon. And we will continue trying to track down the root cause of the illusionist-related crash.

Patch notes 1 February 2021

We will probably add to this as the day goes. For now, here's what we're patching:


  • Fixed male sprite template and facial hair sprites that were not aligned in the attack animation when viewed from the side. Hopefully all sprites are aligned now. The sprites got misaligned when we changed the sprite template a few days ago to accommodate large epic weapons.

Patch notes 28 January 2021 -- Repositioned sprites. Are they in the right spot?

We've been adding a lot over the last few days as we get ready for full release on 31 January. Today one of the big changes is that we repositioned all of the sprites to make more room on the sheet for some of the late-game epic weapons. We think everything should be in place, but let us know if you see anything misaligned, specifically during the left- and right-facing attack frames.

Also, we added new equipment for pumpkinheads, wolves, cactus kids, and boars. Look for the new recipes in the desert and forest battle maps. Also, we have new late-game weapons and crafting recipes. And we blocked off pretty much everywhere you might be able to fall out of the map from a building interior.

Full release is coming soon. Please let us know right away if you see anything that needs fixing and we'll do our best to fix it before version 1.0.
