Devlog #018 | Roadmap Q1
Hello everyone, we are excited to share that we have officially completed the first quarter of our roadmap. As promised, we focused on three major areas for Q1: full controller support, quality of life improvements, and accessibility features.
Below, you will find a summary of what has been delivered, along with a brief look at some past patch notes for anyone who might have missed them.
Full Controller Support
You can now fully navigate and play Hired 2 Die using a gamepad: We have also added an official Steam Deck controller profile, ensuring smoother gameplay on the device
Quality of Life Improvements
You can see and join rooms from any region, making it easier to find matches and play with friends:
We have continued to revamp certain areas of the maps for better visual clarity and narrative cohesion:
As mentioned in earlier patch notes, we improved the visuals of the Control Room and Zone A in "A Simple Job" map.
Various bug fixes and balancing tweaks have been applied. For example:
Fixed the condition to earn the achievements "Burn in Hell!", "DOWN!", and "Office Party Photos"
Fixed an issue where players could become stuck after dying right when the generator puzzle
We addressed several cases where players might get trapped inside a bathroom stall, the Egoshade cabinet, or other parts of the environment
We removed the first row of lockers in A Simple Job to improve movement in that area
Interaction times for many objectives have been reduced to streamline the overall flow
Magic Eye notices chain sounds from farther away
The difference between Anomalies and Distortions is now clearer when using the anomaly camera

Accessibility Features
We have introduced a dedicated Accessibility Menu with multiple categories:
Toggle options for sprinting, crouching, and general actions
Game speed multiplier for solo play
Delay settings for repeated button presses
HUD objective markers:
Option to remove jumpscares
Sound filters and adjustable blood settings
Colorblindness filters:
Contrast adjustments
Subtitle and Reticle size customization
Speaker names in subtitles

THIS IS A BIG ONE We have reworked the puddle-cleaning interaction, adding new animations and effects:
We added a new option in the pause menu to leave or close a lobby
Antialiasing quality can now be adjusted
The walkie-talkie voice filter is less harsh
Minor text adjustments have been made in the manual and certain in-game emails to clarify instructions
In previous updates, we also introduced CPU optimizations across multiple stages, improved the female playable character model, added a Back to Main Menu button, and updated the Unity editor version for better stability
LAST BUT NOT LEAST...
Steam has officially approved Community Items for Hired 2 Die. That means you can now earn and collect Steam Badges, Trading Cards, Backgrounds, and Emoticons just by playing the game.
There are six different badges to unlock, five unique trading cards to collect and craft, three new profile backgrounds to customize your Steam profile, and five exclusive emoticons to use in chats.
If you've already played Hired 2 Die, you might find that some of these items have already been added to your Steam inventory based on your playtime. So go ahead and check your inventory:
We hope these changes make Hired 2 Die more enjoyable for everyone. Finishing Q1 of our roadmap is a big step, but we are not stopping here.
