V8.1 Update

ADDED - Can now access one of the bunkers on Betrayal Island in MP. Previously it was only in single player. Note that this bunker can be used as a base if you wish it.

BUGFIX - Rain would show when in bunkers.

V8 Update

Hi everyone,

V8.01 is now live and ready to be played. This update is largely focused on a new Skills System feature but a few other things have been added also. Below is a list of what can be found in this update. A new game will not be required but is recommended.

ADDED - Skill System

A new Skill System has been added but is still in a work in progress state. These skills can be found by clicking on the newly added Skills tab in your inventory. There are 5 categories of skills, Crafting, Tools & Weapons, Player & Stats, Vehicles and Gear. Many skills have multiple levels and can be upgraded several times.

Players get XP points by completing tasks, killing AI, cutting trees and more. These XP points can be used to learn specific Skills.




ADDED - Bunkers

2 Bunkers have been added to the map for now but I plan to add more in future updates. Both bunkers can only be accessed in single player quest mode as they are part of the quest line. However one of the bunkers can be used by players after completing one of the new late game quests.



ADDED - More desert spots on Dead Island.

Many have been asking me to add more Cactus plants to obtain Prickly Pear (a great source of Carbohydrates) so I have added more desert spots with cactus on Dead Island.



ADDED - Equipment Repair

Also a popular demand by the community was to allow the repair bench to also repair gear and equipment, it is now a possible thing.



ADDED - AI toggle damage

I have added the ability to play with AI but with no danger of them inflicting damage on players. Players can toggle AI damage off on new game creation but also in game on the pause menu.



ADDED - 4 new Quests.

I have also added a few new quests, one of which allows you to build Market Stalls after completion. These stalls when placed in the world will allow AI Traders to move in. No more long travels to reach them. Another Quest will unlock the ability to use a bunker as a home base.

I am always working on more quests and will be adding more in the near future.

V7.0.6 Small Update

Hi everyone,

One more mini update fixing an old issue and a couple of changes. Sorry for all these small updates, I know it can be annoying but I wanted to bang out these few things.

CHANGE - Removed Iron from the 2 Titanium caves in the snow biome to increase Diamond and Titanium nodes.
CHANGE - Removed Cobalt from Oil Shale caves in the desert biome to increase Oil Shale nodes.
BUG FIX - I finally was able to reproduce a lingering bug that would lock up players after death. Players would not be able to jump, change hotbar slot and more.

V7.0.5 Another small addition

Hi everyone,

I had a few bug fixes to push and while at it, I added one new feature at the same time.

BUG FIX - Ground Torch recipe was showing its name in capital letters.
BUG FIX - Sandbox description in the main menu still had references to the ferry points. (was confusing new players)



ADDED - Players in single player mode can now sleep through the night by clicking on the bed after 9PM. Wake up time is 3:30AM. Note that sleeping will not drain your food bars or change anything when it comes to growth time of crops etc. It will basically simply skip the night time.

V7.0.4 Update

Hi everyone,

The Mineral Extractor had a bug that was not allowing it to drop Aluminum Ore and I decided to add 2 new things at the same time that has been asked for by the community for a while.


ADDED - Large Backpack.. A new item that can be crafted in loom, requires 4 crocodile skin, 2 leather and 1 iron ingot. This item can be equipped once and adds 16 slots to your backpacks inventory.


ADDED - Canned Vegetables.. Requires 1 empty can, 1 potato, 1 corn and 1 carrot. + 40 carbs with no perish time. This item can be crafted in the campfire.

V7.0.4 Hot Fix

Hi everyone,

This update simply makes a few changes to the water. AMD Radeon graphic card users were experiencing crashes when trying to start a game.

I had to make some minor visual adjustments and change some of the material functions.

V7.0.2 Small Changes/Balancing

- Decreased the extraction timer of the Mineral Extractor from 3 minutes to 2 minutes.
- Previously, 1 to 3 units randomly would be extracted, I have increased it to 2 to 4 units instead.

The goal here is to give players a reason to build 10-15 + wind turbines and construct 3-4-5 Extractors with time but not make it too easy to obtain Ores either without lots of effort and hard work.

If anyone has any suggestions or comments about this feature, please do let me know in this post.

Version 7.0.1 Update

Hi Everyone!

This update is focused mainly on the continuation of the weather system but I have also changed the water shaders and added a new Mineral Extractor.


The weather system already included foggy days but now also includes rain. When it rains, the ground will start to look wet and in some spots may even consist of puddles. Currently it rains in all biomes but in future updates I will include snow and sand storms.


Added a new water shader. Water now seems more real looking and has a bit more movement and body to it.


I have also fixed something that has been bugging me for some time now, water would overlap into the boat. I have added clipping to now prevent that.



The all new Mineral Extractor is now here. It is expensive to make and requires lots of energy/power to run but well worth it. When running, every 3 mins random ores, coal or magnesium will be extracted and added to its inventory for players to grab. Players can craft more than one of these bad boys for faster ore extraction. Once you have a few of these, you will never have to mine in those pesky caves again. (Note that the only thing this will not extract are diamonds)

Update additions and changes V6.12.7



ADDED - A new Reactor that can decompose trash and unwanted items into valuable by-products. Many players have been suggesting to add some feature that can dispose or recycle unwanted items.
ADDED - Scrap Metal Item used in various crafting recipes
ADDED - Cornstarch can be crafted in the player inventory, needed to craft clay. Many have been requesting an additional way to obtain Clay.
ADDED - Clay crafting recipe in the cement mixer.
CHANGE - Dry Island Caves no longer Oil Shale Exclusive, added some Iron and Cobalt.
CHANGE - Gun Parts no longer crafted from guns, now requires Scrap Metal to craft. Scrap Metal can be found in loot but primarily can be obtained when decomposing items in the new Reactor.
BUG FIX - Sometimes when exiting a cave, the lighting would stay dark and cave sounds would still be heard.

ADDED - New Quests. I have added 3 new quests but actively working on more, since I wanted to update and add the reactor and new clay recipe, I figured I may as well add the few quests that are ready and tested.

V6.12.7 Hot Fixes

CHANGE - Reduced sound level of the Ground Torch, would get very loud when many of them in close proximity.
BUG FIX - Clients could not use hotbar items in MP games after getting out of cars.
BUG FIX - The zoom offset of the sniper rifle was no longer the correct value since I changed the games FOV. The result was that the projectile did not hit the target where it should have and what clearly looked like a successful head shot was hitting the AI in the chest.
