Home Wars

MY NEW GAME!!!

As you already know, I definitely intend to develop Home Wars 2!
HW2 will require a very long and intense development for two reasons:
- it's the game that allowed me to do this full-time job, so I want to pay tribute to him and to you by making something epic (although for my indie skills) and not a simple sequel.
- you have made many beautiful requests to me (and I loved it!), and as a result, the contents have increased. Just to thank you, I want to try to insert as many of your ideas as possible in the final game.

However, as you understand yourself, a project of this kind, carried out by a single person, can even require 2 years of work.

Unfortunately, the earnings made so far do not allow me to spend another 2 years working on just one project.
I was hoping Age of Undead and Gummy Dummy Battles would do better in sales, but for some reason, they didn't.

Consequently, after years of exhausting working rhythms to which I have subjected myself (13 hours per day, no weekends, no holidays), I am forced once again to start a project again before dedicating myself to HW2 with the attention it deserves.

"Mercenaries of the Kingdom" is a game that will participate in the Steam Next Fest in June, which is why I'm working like a slave (even with a fever) to present a demo by the deadline.

What is "Mercenaries of the Kingdom"? This time I tried to develop a product in line with the video game trend, for which I was inspired by the famous Vampire Survivors as the main mechanic, but the final gameplay will be decidedly different; in fact, it will have something of the legendary Mount&Blade.

Why this announcement?
I would love for you to take a look at the MOTK page, and if you like it, it would be great if you could add it to your wishlist!

If you have any questions feel free to contact me, I love to discuss with you in the Community Hub!

HOME WARS update to version 1.032!

Hello, Generals!

As I have already told you in the past, I prefer not to get my hands on scripts written many years ago, in order not to create annoying unexpected bugs during your gaming experience.

However, I noticed that I could safely optimize the code, so I will gradually release patches aimed at improving game performance (obviously, you don't imagine 10,000 insects on screen at 120fps! :D ).

In this update, I focused on jumping bugs.
Consequently, with more of these bugs during battles, your computer should curse you less :D

The way landing is calculated has also been slightly tweaked, hoping that this won't hurt the movements of our hated bugs, for example, going under the floor.

REMEMBER that increasing the game speed worsens the movement quality of all units, especially the jumping insects, so use it only when necessary.

THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG!

HOME WARS update to version 1.031!

Hello Generals!

Some of you have asked me to extend the longevity of the Custom Battle mode; as a result, I have made the following changes:

- Battle Points have been increased from 100,000 to 10,000,000

- stocks of all ammo types have been increased from 1,000,000 to 1,000,000,000!

I think with all this ammo, you could really start a hypothetical World War Bug :D

I've also added my latest games to the right side of the Main Menu, so you can keep up to date with my work.

Fullback Simulator store page is now released on Steam!
In a few days, I will release a DEMO playable by all for free, so you can have fun while waiting for the full game.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2322370/Fullback_Simulator/

As always, I remind you that Home Wars 2 remains my main future project, but, being an extremely complex and very broad title, I first want to develop some small project that I have in mind so as not to have any regrets.

I love you all! :D

LET'S PLAY TOGETHER!

Hi folks!

For a week, I will be holding occasional live-stream events to showcase my new game Age of Undead.
This will happen at different times so that players from all parts of the world can see it.

Each of you is invited to participate to better understand the game or to see a developer succumb to the AI he created himself :D

Have a nice day!

HOME WARS update to version 1.030!

Hello Generals!

This is a quick update, just to change a couple of things.

I added an initial panel that will appear up to 3 times, to push new players to review the product and to offer everyone my last 2 titles: Age of Undead and Gummy Dummy Battles.

Then I took a good look at the old scripts, and I understood where I could get my hands to optimize the product a bit and where it is better to avoid doing it.
If, by rereading the scripts, I have the opportunity to solve some simple bugs, that's welcome, but otherwise, I prefer to avoid modifying a code of which I have little memory now.

However, I should have speeded up the pathfinding process of walking insects; I focused on this because they are the ones most present in the battles.

DECISION FOR THE FUTURE OF HOME WARS:

After evaluating many aspects, I have decided, with EXTREME JOY, to put HOME WARS 2 in the development queue!

I speak of "development queue" because, before starting the real development of HW2, I have to complete 2-3 projects that I have now started, and they are the following:

1) A simple 2D game about American football, closer to a mobile game, but which I developed in my spare time because I would like it as a player.

2) Another 2D game, probably in pixel art, inspired by Vampire Survivors, but related to another theme with the hope of passing on an important message.

3) A 3D FPS, Ravenfield/TTS style (which, unfortunately, I already had in mind before Ravenfield came out), but with at least 2 big features that games of this type still don't have and many other minor ones!

The advantage of the latter game is that some problems that I have to solve for its development are the same that I will have for HW2; therefore, automatically, HW2 will also benefit from it.
Also, with all the good advice you've given me (and continue to do so!), HW2 will be literally a huge great title, which is why its development time won't be short at all, but on the other hand, to make well things take time! :)

In the meantime, thank you for taking part in the survey.
I will put more surveys in the future, so as to best plan HW2 to your tastes, my friends!

Have a nice day and have fun, everyone!

First SURVEY for Home Wars 2!!!

Hi there!

I'm considering the development of Home Wars 2 (not sure yet), and I'd like to ask you three related questions.
Please answer in the same order and be sincere in order to pave the way for a better and funnier game for all!

Questions:
1) What are the things you liked the most about HW?
2) What are the things you did NOT like about HW?
3) What new features would you like to see in a future HW2?

IMPORTANT: Also, while waiting for a future HW2, I would like you to take a look at my newer games, so if you like them, you can support me in developing a new HW!
- Age of Undead
- Gummy Dummy Battles

In the meantime, remember: "THE ONLY GOOD BUG IS A DEAD BUG"!!!

HOME WARS update to version 1.029!

Hello dear Generals!

I hadn't gotten my hands on this title for many, many years, so I decided to try to update its engine or bring it to the version of Unity that I use for the most recent games.

Now Home Wars should run faster and give fewer compatibility problems with more modern PCs.

However, since more than five years have passed since its release, there may be some bugs due to the update and the compatibility of the code with the new version.
In that case, contact me on the Community Hub, and I will try to fix the new problems.

I hope this update will please you.

I'm updating all my games, both new and older, so please check them out:
Cursor Challenge
Home Wars
Multicellular
Bugs!
Age of Undead
Gummy Dummy Battles

IMPORTANT:
If you have problems playing custom games or campaigns, try reinstalling the game.

AGE OF UNDEAD is out!!!!

Our new game: "BUGS!"

Hello Generals!
The war never ends!

If you are still hating the bugs, we suggest you take a look at our new simple game: "Bugs!".
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1094130/Bugs/

It is an easy 2D casual game, but it has a good level of challenge.
In this game, you'll be an exterminator and you'll have to clear a town from the pests.
For the first time, you'll be able to use a nuke against bugs! :D

However, for the fans of Home Wars, we would like to develop "Home Wars 2", maybe 1-2 years from now.
For the second chapter of Home Wars, we want it to be multiplayer and we want the player to be able to play as a bug too (also in the campaign!).

Always remembers: the only good bug is a dead bug!

Message to all Generals!

Hi guys, we've seen the last announcement has created a bit of confusion and bitterness among some of you. We're sorry for the misunderstanding and we'll like to clarify some things with you:

1) The announcement for Multicellular wasn't posted as a "Home Wars Update" in order to deceive you (as some say), but simply to advertise our latest product on a platform that already knows us.
If you have received the announcement as an update, we are sorry, but Steam provides only one feature to create announcements, whether they are updates or news.

2) Home Wars will no longer be updated. As we have said many times before, we're a really small team and we couldn't develop a new game while updating a really complex one like Home Wars.

3) Home Wars is a finished game (and many players have confirmed that both in private chat and comments)! Sure it has some bugs, but is totally playable. Home Wars didn't come out in early access, so there were no promises to keep, as it will be for Multicellular, which will be released in early access. When a player, including us, buys a video game that's not in early access on Steam, he/she knows exactly what is buying, thanks to trailers, screenshots, gameplay, reviews, comments and other tools. The developer does not have any kind of obligation towards the player; the updates the team releases will improve the gaming experience, but they are not mandatory!

4) Home Wars is absolutely not a "cash grab" as someone has defined it, and this definition hurts us enormously. Before being developers, we are players and we want to make something funny for you. Unfortunately, developers do not live on dreams, but they need money, just like you do; for this reason, there are parameters that "force" a team of developers to create a new project and to abandon the old one, even though they love it.

5) Home Wars was our first real game, so it has its flaws. We are self-taught, but we are learning quickly because this world thrills us! Seeing you happy is incredibly motivating! The way Home Wars was realized, makes it not suitable for complex transformations like a multiplayer feature. We evolved while working and it's unthinkable to rewrite all the codes from the beginning.

6) Multicellular is our first experiment with the multiplayer feature (which we love), that's why we prefer to release it in early access, so it can grow together with you. Remember that we are learning, but we need funds to do it ... May sound strange but even developers eat and need a roof over their heads.

7) We consider the early access as a promise to the player, that's why we'll develop Multicellular to make it perfectly playable, with your help; and we'll try to update it after the release. Surely there will be unsatisfied players, but it's impossible to please everyone.

8) Multicellular will be released within a month from today, perhaps less, and will be available in 8 languages, so many players around the world will be able to enjoy it.

In this world nobody is perfect! The only thing that human beings can do is to try to get better day by day, and we’re doing it.

If we have disappointed some of you, we are awfully sorry. For those who still want to support us ... the journey continues!

Thanks for the time you have spent to read this post.

See you next time, our trusted Generals! :)
