We have fixed an issue where the game would not launch if the Windows "My Documents" folder could not be found by the system.
PlanetView Tooltips for Stargate/Beam Defense will no longer display when the buildings are not available.
BREAKING NEWS: Random events are disturbing the Horizon Universe.

- Load and Unload Troops orders have been added to task force orders list. A task force must have ships with troop pods to see these options.

* The Build/Upgrade buttons for buildings will now be greyed out if the ‘Civilian Buildings’ limit of the colony has been reached. A tooltip will also be displayed to inform the player.
* Under the Launcher’s – ‘Advanced Settings’ a new option has been added ‘Cinematics Quality’ to switch to 720p for those who are having trouble with 1080p resolution videos not playing properly. The game will also dynamically try to fall-back to the 720p version when necessary.

We are very excited to bring you the Beta version of Horizon with today's update!
When I look back, the game has come a long way since the Alpha launch on Early Access. And this is in large part due to your suggestions and feedback, which have guided our efforts to make Horizon a better Horizon!
While this will be a substantial update, we are also not done yet and with your continued involvement we plan to continue to add and improve things further in the coming months.

* A more aggressive and challenging AI that will make battle plans and execute them
* Better planet and resource management by the AI races so they are more effective
* An improved combat AI which includes better pathfinding and smarter target selection
Economy and Colony Management
* A more balanced and challenging economy
* More decision making when building colony structures/types
* Different representation/animations for each level of buildings
* Display pertinent information like maintenance and basic info on each structure
Ship Design
* Adding more ship graphic choices to pick for your designs
* Displaying weapon arcs in the design process
Diplomacy Relations
* A new Report Screen for each race accessible from Relations view, that tracks major events and their history
* Make diplomatic relations less accommodating with regards to making alliances and certain other pacts
Graphics
* Improved UI panels and windows
* Improved and updated in-game animation Videos (not all videos, more to coming during beta)

Roadmap to the Next Update

Hello everyone, I would like to bring you up-to-date on what we have been working on the past several weeks and what we are planning for the next major update for Horizon, due sometime in mid-to-late September.
As I had mentioned previously, the feedback has been tremendous from our early adopters.. Which has also meant delving to assess each one, finding the most common requests, prioritizing them and updating our original roadmap.
Based on these and our own assessment we have identified these broad areas to focus on in the short term which I want to share with you.
AI Improvements
* A more aggressive and challenging AI that will make battle plans and execute them based on racial traits.
* Better planet and resource management by the AI races so they are more effective
* An improved combat AI which includes better pathfinding and smarter target selection

* Adding more decision making when building colony structures/types

The list is the main points to give you an idea, so the update will contain many smaller changes and we will likely include a few more things in time for this major update. If there are things you were looking forward to but aren't in this list, don't be concerned they are not forgotten, we are making every effort to get as many things done as soon as possible.

The Government name you are dealing with will now display during diplomatic communications
Fixes:
*Threat messages about stopping attacks will no longer occur when the player didn’t initiate it
*Allies will no longer order an automatic invasion when the player is part of the invading force, instead the player will decide when the invasion order is given

*Ordering an invasion will now clear bombard orders for other task forces at the same location

*Fixed Tactical combat hotkeys from locking up the game if pressed while auto-combat was occurring
*Destroyed Missile and Beam Defense buildings will no longer regenerate structure points (HP)
*Fixed the Combat AI from sitting idle in certain circumstances due to not facing the current attack target (and its forward guns being out of arc)
*Fixed default ship design roles that could cause some ships to ignore survey orders and stop them
*The unit designation for Soldiers will now show correctly when bombarding planets in tactical mode
Changes:
*Improved Bombard/Destroy colony order execution and effectiveness. Also the task force will no longer return home and disband upon completion
*When Auto Mode is pressed, the AI will now execute the current order or take possible actions before ending the current initiative (saves a round of inaction)
*Improved AI hostile target selection
*Bombard order on Galaxy Map will now display the target in the task force order panel
*Made a few changes to reduce the system CPU/Video usage on fast PC/Laptops.
