Preview: Salvage Yard


One of the more exciting additions to Version 0.2.8 is the long awaited Salvage Yard map. This map is soaked in Horror Legends lore being the birth place of Killer Keith.











This is fairly large update and with all the chaos everyone is going through at this time its hard to say when we will be able release this update. We are shooting for late next month but that could change given the circumstances. We will keep you posted as things develop.

Harbinger



  • Will now run away if he takes damage.
  • Will react to Character Voice lines.
  • No longer drops items unless you use a positive Voice Line.

Cops

Corey Sisley



  • When she kills a Cast player they will turn into a Specter instead of another Corey.
  • Slightly reduced Throwing knife damage.

Werewolf



  • Decreased stamina used when Pouncing.
  • Decreased stamina used when Jumping.
  • Increased Overall Werewolf movement speed.
  • Drastically Decreased HP from 225 to 125
  • Drastically Decreased respawn time from 10 seconds to 6 seconds.
  • Slightly increased Frenzy’s Charge Bite life-steal
  • Howl now rapidly regens Health instead of Stamina.
  • Howl will fully replenish Stamina.


Psycho Phil



  • Reduced Chainsaw damage slightly.


Specters



  • Drastically reduced movement speed.
  • Drastically reduced Jumping gravity.
  • Specters now leave a trail when they traverse the map.
  • If killed, Specters will now leave a after-image that will reveal a Cast player if they touch it.
  • Reduced Specter attack damage.
  • Specter attack now shoots multiple bullets in a spread.
  • Added Voice effects for specters.


Silver Sword



  • Attack Damage reduced from 30 damage to 20 damage with a 10 hp damage overtime.


Stun Gun



  • Reduced Clip size from 10 shots to 3.

Update 0.2.6 Patch Notes



New Legends



Psycho Phil


Once was a stock room assistant turned into a chainsaw wielding maniac with an unhealthy attachment to dolls.



Chainsaw
The Chainsaw Phil uses is the most deadly melee weapon in the game. It will devour their HP if within range. The Cast should be very weary of fighting Phil in melee combat.


Crossbow
Phil is also equipped with a Crossbow. Perfect for sniping Cast and completely exhausting their stamina. If your having trouble catching up to a Cast member try taking a few pot shots.


Dolly
Dolly is Phil's special friend. Dolly will hype Phil up by giving Phil a minor HP regeneration period and pull Phil out of exhaustion. This can be done only so many times however.


Corey Sisley


Once a toy-maker herself, now haunts her very own failed line of Anny Nanny dolls as her own personal hell and she is going to take it out on the Cast.



Knife Attack
Straight forward and to the point. A wise man once said. "A true classic never goes out of style"


Knife Throw
Great for softening them up before you charge in for the kill.


Decoys.
Both Corey and Phil use Doll decoys on the map to track their prey. The decoys will light up when a Cast member is within 30 meters of one. The Cast can destroy the decoys and receive a small Fate Reward but it will reveal them if they do.


Doll Mode
Corey can actually hide among-st her doll decoys using the Doll Mode ability. Press 3 then crouch to blend right it. Try not to move when the cast are nearby or else you'll give yourself away.


Map Overhauls



Cabin


This map is now 3 times larger and includes a new spawn location for the Cast.



Hedgemaze


We opened up the maze and added additional greenhouses and points of interest on the map.



DreamRealm


The Platforming room as been replaced with a Lava pit and ruined walkways.



New Music


Two brand new music tracks for Corey and Killer Keith created by the game composer Spectral Fields.

Hint System.


Gameplay hints will now show up in the chat box ever few minutes. Great for new players!

Fate UI


You can now see your total Fate on the main menu and Fate Store screens.

Bug Fixes and balance changes.

  • Fixed Specter spawning bug for all Specter based Legends.
  • Damage Indicator now appears when you attack doors and windows.

Sorry for the lack of news, after the huge Halloween update we had to take it slow for a bit, but that doesn't mean we've been doing nothing behind the scenes. Oh no, quite the contrary! We have some fun stuff in-store for you when we drop version 0.2.6 this Holiday season!

The Punkie Night Event is over.



  • Jack-O-Lanterns and Bowls of Candy have been removed.



Bug Fixes


  • The Character Select Bug; where the game would sometimes skip character select has been fixed.
  • Supporter Skin wont unequip when you restart the game.
  • The Werewolf will now see Revealed Cast players when the escape timer runs out.

Punkie Night Fate Event!

Happy Halloween everyone.


From now till November 1st Horror Legends will be hosting Punkie Night our fist Halloween Themed Fate Event!

This update comes with some fun little goodies and minor balance changes.

Punkie Night Fate Event



Every map has Jack-o-lanterns everywhere. Destroy them and receive 13 bonus Fate points!

The Cast might want to keep their eyes open for these Bowls of Halloween Candy Take some and double the candy you have in your inventory! Each map at least has one bowl that will refill after a short period of time. Remember to save some for the rest of your team!

Version 0.2.5c Hotfix



Based on our community's feed back we decided to adjust some of the Werewolf's stats. We are still keeping a close eye on him so these stats are subject to change.


Werewolf Balance Changes.
  • Reduced Pouncing distance.
  • Increased Walk Speed
  • Decreased Crawl Speed
  • Reduced Howl stamina recovery from 30 seconds to 18 seconds.
  • Increased Smell cool down timer from 20 seconds to 30 seconds.

Update 0.2.5 Patch Notes



New Playable Legend - Werewolf




A ferocious beast that uses its animal instincts to track and kill its prey and then devour their flesh. Stalk using his stealthy crawl and pounce to close the distance. They will never see you coming.

[RMB] Viscous Claw attacks.
[LMB] Charge Bite attack that does more damage the longer you hold it.
Both attack can replenish HP on any thing made of flesh.


Press X to use the Werewolf's new form of Tracking; the Smell ability!

Werewolf can howl and gain unlimited stamina for 30 seconds.
Werewolf can leap from a crouched position

The Werewolf requires you to attack him with a Silver Blade to prevent him from resurrecting were he die. Be careful if the Werewolf resurrects he will be invincible for 11 seconds!

New Playable Cast - Kimmy Green




A nerdy college student with a love of chemistry.

Special Item: Stink-bomb If hit the Legend will be revealed for a long period of time.

Progression update



  • FP (Fate Points) is now earned alongside XP points. FP is currency that you spend on unlockables in the Store.
  • Fate Store - Where you spend your FP.
  • Skins for characters can now be unlocked with FP
  • Items in Sub Categories are unlocked by spending FP
  • Concept Art and Photos are unlocked by spending FP
  • Comic pages are only unlockable by spending FP.
  • Update Character Select screen with Stats and Load-out from Skin screen.


Legend PreGame



  • You can now play as a Legend in Pregame!
  • Ravers are roaming looking to party and you’re the world’s biggest party pooper kill them all and earn FP.
  • Find randomly spawned Boomboxes to gain bonus FP. Boomboxes attract Ravers and make them dance.
  • Kill enough Ravers and Cops will start to spawn and try to protect the Ravers. Kill them to earn FP.
  • Fight other Legend Players as they join your pregame. Unbalanced, yes. Fun, hell yeah! Supports up to 10 players.
  • Both Legend and Cast Pregame now require the Host to press F1 to start the game when the required number of players have joined. So if you want to stay in pregame you can!


Adjust Escape timer based on Player count.


  • 1 Cast = 4mins
  • 2 Cast = 5 Mins
  • 3 Cast = 6 Mins
  • 4 Cast = 8 Mins
  • 5 Cast = 10mins

Secondary Objective - update


  • Ectoplasm Orbs are now visible to everyone. Both Specters and Casts can collect these items which will reduce the Glyph escape timer.
  • Legend can also collect the ghost item and it will freeze the Glyph timer,
  • Cast have to find next ghost item which will unfreeze the timer.


UI Overhaul



  • Fancy new Comic Background.
  • Improved all menus.
  • Improved Character Selection that provides much needed information about the characters.


Movement changes


  • Sprinting now Un-crouches you if crouched
  • Added toggle sprint option in option in game menu
  • All characters have had their movement speed reduced across the board to make the game feel more realistic.
  • Added a slight bit of weight to the game movement with Directional movement speed differences - Each direction has its own speed values for standing and crouch.
  • Example moving side to side will be slower than moving forward.


Revised footstep sounds to insensitive more stealth play.


  • All running footstep sounds have had their volume increased
  • All walking and crouching footstep sounds have had their volumes decrease.


Jump upgrade


  • Jumping while crouch has different jumping stats than if jumping while standing.
  • Jumping standing and crouching have different stamina costs.


Inventory


  • Picking up items automatically goes into a free inventory slot
  • Picking up ammo without having a gun in your inventory will save the ammo and add it to your gun ammo if you do pick up a gun later
  • Mouse Scroll wheel - Scroll through inventory with mouse wheel.

New Audio Logic


All Legends now have theme music that will play once there is 1 min left on the glyph timer. In future updates coming soon the Legend theme music will play when you play as the legend and when the legend freezes the Glyph timer.

Weapon Functionality


  • Crosshair for Throwing weapons.
  • You can now shoot through and attack through the barbed wire fence on Punkie's Farmhouse map.

Steam Cloud support.

Everything should work although it hasn’t been thoroughly tested yet. Be aware that the progression may still have a few bugs in it.

Bug fixes



  • FIXED - Gourd AI Spit can now hit you if you are crouched.
  • FIXED - Charged Melee Attack Bug.
  • FIXED - AI Projectiles cause a hitmarker for other legends in pregame.


KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES



Character Select Bug: Sometimes randomly a match will start without letting you choose your character, Legend will default be Punkie, and all cast will be Stevie. We are still working on fixing this issue. Hotfix coming very soon.

Doors are effected by lag. If you are playing with someone with a very high ping doors may act a little strange. We are currently looking into fixing this for later updates.

AI can be unresponsive. There are still a few kinks to work out with the AI. Ravers sometimes dont run away when you attack them. Fix coming soon.

We didn't have time to create a Werewolf Game Guide, but don't worry its in the works and should be out soon!

New Map delayed.


I'm sorry to announce this but, the new progression system was a lot more work then we initially anticipated. Which means that the new map has been pushed back for a week or two. More info on this coming soon. Hopefully there is enough here to keep you occupied while you wait for the new map. Thank you for your patience!
