Again, we must thank everyone for the support during these quiet times. We read everything and we take all critique seriously. It's been humbling being able to finish this update with so many of you helping out and testing it on the Experimental Branch. Thank you so much.
Like we stated in the earlier dev blog, more updates will arriving here on out. Expect smaller updates that build upon what is already in the game, helping improve all the available aspects that are currently in the game. We'd love to hear any feedback you have when playing Hospitalize so that we can work hard to fix and improve what the players feel is lacking.
As before, due to changes in the save & load system, existing savegames will take a hit and players will have to start new games for this update to work. We're sorry for the inconvenience.
And as always, send us bug reports, start discussions here on the forum and tell us exactly what could be done better and what we can do to improve whatever you feel is lacking. It always helps tremendously much.
Thank you!!! - Illeris Team
Moving forward!
Departments & what's to come.
Greetings, Everyone!
Due to many factors, it’s been a while since last update. Holidays were tight, other projects emerged and we have had to prioritize our schedules accordingly.
We’re now going full throttle (Actually about half throttle, but you get the idea) ahead and have some information to share:
Departments are getting along very nicely, thanks to everyone participating on the Experimental Branch. There was a lot about this update to wrap our heads around and it proved to have some hardships, more than we first foresaw. It has taken some time, but we have had an immense amount of feedback and are almost ready to release the full version onto the world. For those that did participate, there will be an additional post, on the Experimental Branch discussion section, about upcoming changes (You can find that here). Thank you for all your help!
More updates! We will try to update Hospitalize more often going forward, as we realized with Departments that it became a little overwhelming. Pour too much into the cup and it will just spill everywhere. No good! Smaller and more frequent updates will allow us to polish already existing content, making the game smoother for everyone. Great!
With this, we wish to start doing the “Weekly Dev Updates” again as well. We were consistent with them for a while, but we eventually fell off the tracks along the way due to uneventful weeks. Eventually renaming them to “Dev Updates” gave us a little more breathing room, and allow us to write more detailed reports. We will at least try and do them every two weeks.
Expect an update for Hospitalize in not too long! Now, unfortunately, this update will break saves. This is because of big changes to the save & load framework, as well as how much Departments changes the game. We’re very sorry for this inconvenience!
And with that we would like to thank you for your patience during this quiet time, and wish to ask you to continue your support going forward! You guys are awesome!
Thanks! - Illeris Team
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Through the last year Hospitalize have had an almost complete makeover, as both graphics and content is now on a greater level.
We can't wait for 2018, as it will be our most exciting year!
Our first mission will be to fix all bugs in both new and excisting content, as well as improving everyones Hospitalize experience.
As some of you may know, the 'Experimental Branch' is far off from the current main branch at the moment, but will be merged in no time!
This means that we're getting closer to our goal with the Departments update, the most comprehensive and complicated update thus far. On the new year, we plan to do smaller, but definitely more consistent, updates throughout Spring times.
Now, we wouldn't still be here if it wasn't for YOU. Thank you all so much for all the feedback we've got throughout 2017. Through your comments we gain motivation and all the information we would need to keep developing the game in a better direction.
Thank you for an amazing year, the next will be even better!
MERRY CHRISTMAS from all of us at Illeris and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR
Dev Update [26.11.2017]
Some info on 'Departments'!
Good evening Everyone,
'Departments' are almost ready and is nearing its official release! We've gotten tons of great and constructive feedback from players over at the 'Experimental Branch' and has helped us a lot!
A quick overview:
You can create your own departments and set up what symptoms, treatments and which illnesses are handled there.
Every department have the option to add a Doctor and/or an Administrator as the head of that department. Different leaders give different bonuses.
This means that the all-new medical skills of that Head Doctor/Administrator will determine how that department plays out.
'Departments' is the biggest patch we have done and are eager to have every one of you try it out. We can't wait for release!
Thank you! - Illeris Team
Departments are almost ready!
To the Experimental Branch!
Hello everyone!
We’re now ready to let you guys have a go with the ‘Departments’ update!
We will launch it to the ‘Experimental branch’ so please keep in mind that, if you do decide to try it out, bugs will occur.
You’re more than welcome to savor the experience for another time when it’s in its finished state, but for those of you who just can’t wait you'll be able to try out the 'Departments' update right now!
And with that, We STRONGLY recommend that, if you decide to try out the ‘Experimental branch’, backup ALL your savegames and read the guidelines in the ‘Experimental branch’ section of the forums. If you then have any issues loading the game, delete the savegames folder and try again. That is if you have BACKED UP your savegames! :]
The ‘Experimental branch’ will be patched regularly following the next weeks. Everything associated with this will be posted in the ‘Experimental branch’ section of the forums, keep an eye on this.
Also, do keep in mind that this is just a first look at Departments. It will be updated with more content as we go along.
Spam us with bug reports and check the ‘Send Stats’ button and we’ll get cracking on fixing whatever there is you find! (Let’s face it, you won’t find anything)
Thanks! - Illeris Team
