Today we've also brought a little sneaky House Flipper 2 hotfix!




  • Added an autosave feature to the Sandbox Mode!
  • The game should no longer think that it was improperly closed every time you launch it!
  • The game now correctly identifies family home when attempting to sell properties (the ability to sell family home will be introduced in the upcoming major update).
  • The game should now properly calculate the profit from cleaning a house when putting it up for auction.
  • Fixed the resizing feature randomly turning off.
  • The readable items you can find around the new job and house now contain the right texts.
  • Selling the stairs should no longer create holes in the map!
  • Quest markers are now unmovable and do not react with certain tools.
  • [UI] Adjusted spacing in job emails.

Thanks to all the suggestions from our community, we recently managed to plan everything out and come up with a roadmap that contains all the content we want you to have!

Today we're bringing you the first big chunk of it!

  • "Healthier lifestyle for a change" - a brand new job!
  • "House left behind" - a new house you can buy after completing the job!

  • Resizing - now available in Story Mode for certain items! Look for it in the Flipper Tool's “Change style” panel. Resizable items can be recognized in the store by looking at the icon with two arrows, shown in the top left corner of the item preview in the store.
  • Resizeable items from the “Sandbox only” category were moved to “Architectural elements/Other” and are also available in Story Mode. Say hello to columns and floor mouldings!
  • Sell roofs and stairs in Story Mode (hold LMB)! Also works in the Sandbox “Play” and “Test property” modes.

  • Textiles are now available as surface finish options in Sandbox Mode!

Changes:


  • The game now stops responding to inputs when you minimize it.
  • The store sorting option for dates are now less confusingly called “Date: from newest” and “Date: from oldest”. Useful for seeing what’s new in the update 👀
  • Clothes will now be easier to hang on hangers.
  • The auction fee is now lower for cheaper houses and higher for more expensive ones.
  • Fixes to the trampoline! (Say goodbye to unwanted space trips and hello to dynamic diagonal dives - I'm sure this won't come in handy 🌋)
  • Textiles such as carpet tiles have been moved to the right category in the store (Surface finishes) and have been fully translated.
  • Reworked some buttons in the “Change style” panel to make them easier to understand (e.g., for plants - "Soil" - "Yes/No").
  • Items from the "Sandbox Only" category can no longer be used in a “To Buy” quest in jobs.
  • Stains placed in Sandbox Mode will now disappear automatically if they're small enough.
  • We've optimized stain highlights while using the "Dirt management" tool.
  • The new perk - “Well deserved rest” lets you control the time of day in a house you own. You’ll do this by sleeping in a bed, changing the time to morning or night. Important! Changing the “Game time” option in the settings will only have a visual effect on clocks.
  • Changing the time in the “Property settings” tab in Sandbox mode now also changes the time while making a level as well. No more going in and out of the “Test property” mode to see if the sun is high enough!
  • The progression of the Mount Everest achievement now properly scales with the size of your paint roller
  • [UI] Added an animation when hovering over the series or name of an item, and the company logo in the store. This shows you can click on them for easy searching.
  • [UI] The auction fee is now shown on the button for putting a house up for auction
  • When building walls in Sandbox Mode, the preview of the chosen material is now bigger.
  • The "unstuck" and "reset-to-spawn-position" commands are now visible in the console (F11).


Fixes:


  • Further advancements with our war on corrupted save files (we're winning, aren't we?)
  • Improved recognition of presets when switching between them in the “Change style” panel
  • Pool balls are now arranged in the correct order in the “Change style” panel
  • Building walls on stains should now clean the stains
  • The game now correctly calculates the amount of money paid for the auction immediately after putting a house up for auction
  • Fixed the spray VFX
  • The "Spray" tooltip shows up only when the "Cleaning spray" perk is active
  • Removed the Confounded Face emoji from the bottom right corner of the screen 😖. Bye friend!

Some of you may be disappointed with the lack of a Before/After feature. Overall, this has been one of the most popular requests since House Flipper 2 came out, so we fully understand that!
To be frank, we already had something ready, a bit more than a prototype of this feature, but we felt that instead of releasing it now, we wanna take our time and bring it to you once we're fully happy with the results! From the development perspective, this feature isn't as simple as it may seem, and considering how many players are interested in it, we aim to bring it to a higher standard!





It's a big one for us, and we'd love to hear from you regarding all the new content!

Maintenance Update - saving the save files! 💾

Today we've refreshed the game with a maintenance update, bringing you some much-needed fixes and improvements. We mostly focused on the matter of save file malfunctions, as some players experienced some heartbreaking loses of their House Flipper 2 progress. :C

Changes:

  • Welcome to the era of transparency. The changelog window is here to keep you in the loop!
  • Added a main menu news section aka. The Flipper News!
  • Added a memo about our social media channels upon exiting the game! Join our community, we have memes about walls and roofs!
  • The "Ryan" Microphone can now be put on various furniture pieces.
  • Blocked the ability to put certain symbols in the Store's search bar.


Fixes:

  • A save files migration has been implemented to address the progress loss issues.
  • The pesky autosave has been tamed and now behaves like a well-trained pet. Sit. Stay. Save.
  • Fixed the amount of money not saving properly in some specific cases.
  • The "Start playtest" option in the Sandbox Mode has been changed to "Test property (no saving)", to more accurately represent what it's for.
  • Using the transform tool to rotate roofs shouldn't cause problems anymore.
  • The transparency settings for stains created with the "stains and dirt" tool should now apply properly.
  • The button tooltips in the tutorial should now be displayed properly when using a controller.
  • Filled some gaps in the game's localization.
  • Town environment optimization improvements.



📌 What's our next move?




We're constantly working on the first Major House Flipper 2 Update which is going to come in March!

Also, today we've heard some new spicy information regarding the release date of the Hairdresser Simulator that we've talked about in the past!

We created a House Flipper Franchise ROADMAP!

A peak into the future!



Do you remember how last time we let you know that after collecting all your feedback we have to prioritize and create a plan for the future development efforts for the House Flipper franchise?


We did just that! 🫡

The House Flipper team finally managed to connect all the pieces, and we have a very good idea of what we're about to focus on in the upcoming months. Of course, no plan is fully bulletproof so keep in mind that the visual representation you see is subject to change (we guess not too much, but still!)

Fixes, fixes... fixes!

As promised, this week we wanted to give you the first hotfix for a bunch of issues that we could fix fairly quickly. We've also decided to add a couple of quality-of-life features. Planning to release more of these in the upcoming weeks!

Once again, thank you all for reporting the encountered issues, that's helping us a ton!


Bugfixes:

  • Fixed various house parts turning invisible after finishing the Story Mode.
  • Fixed the game locking up during long loading times in the property selection screen.
  • Fixed the "Mods" tab appearing in the Story Mode.
  • Fixed various Anti-virus software conflicts, which should get rid of some cases of infinite loading of the game as well as some saving issues.
  • During Sandbox Mode quest creation, if a quest needs a certain tool, this tool can no longer be locked.
  • The Kaminari Induction Stovetop can now be moved, sold, redesigned, copied etc.
  • Minor adjustments for low graphics settings.


Features:

  • Stairs found in various houses by default can now be sold!
  • The game now autosaves right before entering assembly mode.
  • Added controller deadzone settings (might help with some cases of infinite scrolling)
  • Added "unstuck" and "ResetToSpawnPosition" commands for unstucking yourself (F11 to access console)
  • Added "force-save-as" command (use if you'd like to save your progress in Sandbox Mode after you chose "Play" instead of "Edit Property").

House Flipper 2 Status Report 📋

👋 How's it going Flippers?



Today, exactly a month after the official House Flipper 2 release, I greet you with a little wall of text, as I'm pretty sure a lot of you are waiting for information regarding the current status of House Flipper 2, and what exactly the team at Frozen District is focused on after the release. The winter holiday season is finished, we're all back in the office, and we know that the future weeks will be full of work and dedication.

Let's do a little dev diary to discuss the current situation, as well as where we're headed regarding our development efforts:



🚧 The current situation



House Flipper 2 is up and running, and we feel like the official release was a huge success - a success that wouldn't be possible without your help and support! Looking at the feedback from the community we can see that a lot of you love the game and are super satisfied with the purchase.
BUT!...

That's sadly not true for all the House Flipper 2 players, and we know that there's still a lot of work ahead of us. Luckily, the Flipper community once again showed us its value, and we received a lot of constructive criticism regarding many different aspects of the game. The biggest quest for us at the moment is gathering, analyzing, and evaluating all this feedback. That's something we've been doing for the last couple of weeks, and we already have an idea of what the priority list looks like for us.

Currently, we're definitely focusing our attention on bugs, especially the ones that are blocking some players from playing House Flipper 2. What I mean by that is mainly all the saving-related issues that either wipe your progress or block the saving mechanism thus preventing you from progressing in the game.
We also have some other cheeky ones, like the infinite scrolling bug that you guys let us know about through our Steam Discussions. Thank you all for reporting those, and any other issues. Our testers and programmers are already on it!

A lot of you also pointed out that House Flipper 2 is missing some crucial content pieces, for example, curtains and window blinds, or the beloved Before/After mechanic. We're fully aware of that, and thanks to our new House Flipper 2 Roadmap and Feature Board, we can see what your votes are and what features are the most important to you and your gameplay experience. Thank you for taking part in the voting!



🔮 The future



Our first hotfix update is already planned to come next week if everything goes smoothly. This one will cover a portion of the most serious issues (those that we could fix fairly quickly), but keep in mind that some of them require a little bit extra time on our side.
That's why we're also already working on another hotfix update that will come after that. We will make sure to keep you updated about the situation on our Steam Discussions.

Moreover, while our programmers are tracing all the bugs and working on the fixes, a part of the development team is also busy with the upcoming Spring Content Update (which we'll be discussing sometime in the following weeks!), and our artists are already creating new item sets!

First ever House Flipper 2 Feature Update!

🎙️ The last couple of days were full of your suggestions!



Since the release, you guys have been very active on various player-developer communication channels.
Thanks to that, we were able to discover some overlooks on our side and decided to act quickly before the winter holiday break!

For the last week, we tried gathering as much feedback as possible, especially keeping a close eye on our new feature request board on Canny.io!


If you don't know what Canny.io is, it's a platform where our players can:

  • See what we have planned for the future of House Flipper 2
  • Influence this plan by commenting on and upvoting the things that they think are a priority.
  • Create posts that contain player ideas for new content. These posts can then be upvoted by the rest of the community members and implemented into the House Flipper 2 roadmap.

📜 The Feature Update patch notes:



Today, we're delivering some simple, yet very effective quality-of-life features which were instantly requested by our community right after the release:


  • Added a Hold / Toggle option inside the Settings > Gameplay Tab. This feature works with:
      - painting
      - general cleaning
      - window cleaning
      - wall building
      - vacuuming
    (Important: the tooltips will still suggest that you're using the hold option, don't worry about it, we'll change that soon!)

  • Added options for inverted X/Y mouse movement settings in the Settings > Gameplay Tab.
  • Added WASD tooltips when painting and cleaning windows.
  • Added a popup suggesting lower graphics settings in case of a game crash.
  • Optimized window cleaning to work better on low-end GPUs.
  • The game now triggers an autosave upon entering the assembly mechanic.
  • Fixed disappearing assembly elements!
  • Fixed the issues encountered during the drilling phase in the assembly mechanic.
  • Property photos are now getting automatically exported along with uploading the property to Mod.io
  • The popup about not being able to sell your parents' house is now displayed properly.
  • Added support for all keyboard layouts (yikes!).
  • Added variety regarding TV shows on different properties.
  • Reflections should no longer go crazy on your GPU memory.
  • Optimization improvements for various stains.
  • BIGGER FONTS for Steam Deck users!



We also performed a couple of tests regarding motion sickness in House Flipper 2
Generally, what seems to be working is:

  • Turning off FSR (but we still love AMD!)
  • Turning off Motion Blur
  • Disabling V-Sync and setting your fps to match your monitor refresh rate.

Today's announcement is all about listening to you.



With the launch of House Flipper 2, we started getting tons of feedback that we'd like to gather in the best possible way. This would allow us to correctly analyze it and make sure to properly implement all of your suggestions into our House Flipper 2 roadmap.

Right now, we wanna gather as much as possible. Knowing what you want and need helps us make the game even better!


This leads us to a platform called Canny!



On Canny, you're able to:

  • See what we have planned for the future of House Flipper 2

There are three boards with categories:

  • Jobs and houses - like adding jobs that have only painting (:P) or are set on the deserted island enviroment
  • Mechanics and features - like selling roofs or disabling the day-night cycle
  • Items and item features - like opening drawers, adding fire to fireplaces, new items to assemble etc.



No worries, we'll still be checking our Steam Discussions and various other platforms when it comes to collecting feedback, but we just feel like Canny is an extremely effective tool that at the same time keeps stuff simple and transparent!

Remember that even if you simply fell in love with House Flipper 2, there's still probably something, even a small detail that in your opinion could be better. We wanna hear about that!

House Flipper 2 - WHAT'S NEXT?

💝 Let's quickly talk about what just happened.




The release day was a BLAST! We've seen thousands of people playing the game, and even more, enjoying their favorite streamers having fun with it on Twitch.tv

On top of that, we've just beaten the overall player count record for House Flipper / House Flipper 2, which was previously set at 15,900 Flippers playing simultaneously! 🎉
The amount of Flippers playing is still growing, and it's just so insane to see such a great reception!

Today, we also went ahead and updated House Flipper 2 with a smooth little hotfix that took care of some pretty frequently seen but easy-to-fix issues.
Since the release, we have been constantly monitoring all of the communication channels between our community and the devs, and we're working on a priority list regarding any overlooks! 👀

Our house-sharing community platform on Mod.io also went live, giving you the ability to share with your friends whatever you come up with in House Flipper 2's Sandbox Mode!



🔮 Let's also talk about the future!




You might be wondering what's next, and I might have some sneak peeks for you!
First of all, the next couple of months will be full of going through your opinions, bug reports, and feature requests. We will be trying to figure out what our priorities regarding those are, and we already started seeing some popular demands!
  • Firstly we have a ton of requests about inverted mouse settings! Don't worry guys, we see you!
  • Then there's also the need for a hold/toggle option for certain tools. Definitely doable, but not as simple as it may seem!

Taking care of those will be a serious quest for our mighty coders, but hey... at the same time, our 3D crew will be working on new precious item collections for the first House Flipper 2 content update! 🙀
I know you'd love to hear more about it, but for now, I'll only say it's planned to come along with the spring season! 🌼
