We're proud to announce an Open Beta weekend for Hoverloop. The open beta weekend will run from 3:00 PM CEST on August 31 to 3:00 PM CEST on September 1st. During this time anyone is free to download and play the game from Steam. Players can pit their drone-piloting skills against each other for clicks and glory for the duration of the beta.
Players are invited to share their feedback or to report potential bugs during the Open Beta weekend via the Steam Community Hub or Hoverloop's Discord.
As a reward, all the participants will receive exclusive items to customize their drones:

The trailer takes a peek at the variety of decorations, guns, and powers available to the player to trick out their personalized vehicle. In addition to the weapons scattered around the map, players can equip a signature ability like the laser wheel or firebreath that are featured prominently. Additionally, a multitude of hats, hover particles, and emotes let the player strut their stuff in the match and the winner’s circle.
Hoverloop is a multiplayer arena shooter that features customizable hover drones in high-speed combat. Players take their mechanized gladiators into a battle for glory across a multitude of maps and gametypes including modes like Deathmatch and wave-based PvE matches. Both the drones’ abilities and appearance can be personalized to their owner’s preferences. Powerful abilities like death rays, invulnerable shields and teleportation let you pick your playstyle.

We started working on a brand new gun to add into the Hoverloop arsenal, only it will not be present in all of the modes...
We'll post an update/announcement later on when we have more details to show but for now, just know that we have a gun coming that will do more than just diss out damage.

Hoverloop Gets A MAJOR Update
Time to enter the arena, combatants. Hoverloop is getting some brand new stuff for you to put to the test. Fire up those drones and hover your way to victory!

Today’s new update offers a slew of enhancements and new content including a brand-new combat arena set inside an undersea mine and a new Team Deathmatch mode.
The fresh tutorial will help you learn the ropes in your high-speed hover drone while an AI upgrade for computer-controlled opponents will push you to your limits.
You'll be able to express yourself even more because we added a bundle of new drone skins, hats, trails and emotes to taunt your poor opponents with.
We also made some changes to the UI and added in stuff based on your feedback. Touch up your drone, refine your skills and become the champion of the arena!
*NOTE: The online mode is still not available as we’re currently working on it. It will be part of the final game at launch in Fall 2019, along with more new modes. Until then, you can invite your friends and family over for some sweet, sweet split-screen action!

Big changes coming to Hoverloop
Hoverloop will become free to play, charging only for cosmetic changes and season pass content.
Free to play We have made the decision to adapt Hoverloop from a premium to a free to play game. This decision was made to ensure a larger community and player base at release. Players will be able to make use of our dedicated servers for matchmaking or create their own custom matches on private servers. You will be able to play with or without AI.
We oppose the idea of “pay to win”, so rest assured that we will never sell items that give paying players an advantage in the game. Money spent in the store can only be used on cosmetic items or to unlock season pass content.
Early Access buyers + Kickstarter backers compensation Continuing work on Hoverloop would have never been possible without the support of our Kickstarter backers or our Early Access adopters. To thank them, we’d like to offer compensation in the form of a free season pass ($9.99) and a Loops pack (value TBD). (rolling out as soon as these are available)
Demo on Steam Early Access available soon! A free demo will be made available on the Steam Early Access Page. To start, we’ll focus on an offline mode, including split-screen and AI players but we’ll continue with online tests at a later date. - Feel free to provide feedback along the way.

How does the season pass work? After a set period of time, a season pass will come out, ending the previous season. Content from the previous season can no longer be obtained if it wasn’t unlocked.
The new season will reset everyone’s level to 1 with 0 subscribers. (though an all-time count will be kept). Whenever a player gains a level in a season, they’ll unlock cool items (customizations), there will be a free season pass (silver) and a paid one (gold). Having the paid season pass gives you access to way cooler customizations and makes leveling of the pass go faster. At any point in the season, you can buy the current season pass, making you unlock all the levels you have leveled until that point. (both free and paid)
How do you level the season pass? While playing matches, you can earn viewers through a range of actions:
Scoring kills/double/triple kills
Performing tricks in the air while scoring a kill
Doing an Emote after (leaving you vulnerable for a while)
Having great accuracy.
In short: by making your play the most entertaining to watch for the viewers. At the end of the match, the viewer count translates into new subscribers. These subscribers count to new level unlocks in your season pass. The more subscribers, the higher your level!
