Hey guys,
long time no see! Thank you to everyone who played How About Spikes! That means so much to me.
I'm currently working on a new title. But until then, here is a free demo for How About Spikes. I hope many people will try it out to get a feel for the game. The game will also go on sale at the same time. So if you don't own the game or one of your friends is crazy enough to like a challenging metroidvania platformer, now is the perfect time to get How About Spikes!

How About Spikes [Version 1.1 - Speedrun Update]
Hello everyone,
long time no see!
Here is the patchlog for the new Speedrun Update.
Changes:
- Remade all menus (Fixed UI/HUD scaling on different resolutions)
- Added new Speedrun mode
- Online Speedrun leaderboard now available
- Added new animations
- Added new secrets to multiple levels
- Reduced overall enemy count in later areas
- Added more checkpoints in some areas
- Tweaked HUD
- Reduced health of final boss
- Changed appearance of lens flares and god rays
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug where the player could get stuck after entering a warpzone in demons keep
- Fixed a bug where the game would not properly scale, when changing between windowed and fullscreen mode
- Fixed hitboxes of skeleton enemies
- Fixed a bug where some achievements wouldn't be triggered
- Fixed a bug where picked ultra souls wouldn't be saved
- Fixed a bug where a save file could get corrupted after an update

How About Spikes [Patch 20]
So this is it.
The final patch before the release tomorow.
Please contact me, if you encounter any game breaking bugs!
I will support this game post launch with bugfixes and content updates.
Changes:
- Added new decoration to some levels
- Pausing the game in multiplayer will now spawn a pause icon above your head
- Orb holders now have a new sprite for being activated
- Glass blocks are now synchronised in multiplayer
- Added a refkection to the other player in multiplayer
- Changed the saving icon
- Added info text to the multiplayer screen
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug, where the other player could activate the vibration of the controller of the other player
- Fixed a bug, where lava and red spikes would kill both players in multiplayer
- Fixed an area in demons keep, where the player could see under the ground
- Fixed a bug, where the transition between 2 areas in overcast peak would not work
- Fixed a bug, where the player would sometimes only recieve 1 soul for collecting 2
- Fixed a bug, where the boss would get stuck underground, if the player died in the death animation of the boss

Jesus, finally a good patch.
Changes:
- Added a save file select menu + multiplayer save file select
- Added a function to delete a save file
- Added sound effects to menus
- Changed arrow icon
- Changed textbox sprite
- Changed sprite of explosive blocks
- Reduced cost of the map drawer by 75%
- Scythe reloaders now respawn after 3 seconds
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug, where starting a new game would give the player more souls than he actually has
- Fixed a bug, where starting a new game without restarting would lead to the player getting stuck in the tutorial

How About Spikes [Patch 18]
Bugfixes? Bugfixes!
Changes:
- Shortened the disconnect time, when not finding a host
- Changed soundtrack for Overcast Peak
- Bosses now have double the amount of health, when playing in multiplayer
- Levers now synchronise in multiplayer
- Souls now synchronise in multiplayer
- Players can now walk between rooms in multiplayer
- Improved hitbox and AI of the pirate enemy
- Changed parts of multiple levels
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug, where dying in multiplayer would result in the player spawning out of the map
- Fixed a bug, where the door at Skullcoin Bay would be already open
Multiplayer will probably get out of beta post launch. It's quite a huge task and I want to focus more on fixing game breaking bugs. Thank you for following the development of How About Spikes!

How About Spikes [Patch 17]
Ok...this patch is kinda huge.
How About Spikes now has an online multiplayer.
It's still in beta, a lot of features are missing and it is buggy as hell.
But you can already play the tutorial with someone else! yay
Changes:
- Added online multiplayer
- Changed part of Sentinel Graves 1
IMPORTANT! DON'T START MULTIPLAYER, IF YOU HAVE A SAVEFILE! YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR PROGRESS!

Found a lot of new problems.
Fixed quite a lot of them.
Don't forget to comment your bugs in the community hub!
Changes:
- Changed the big door sprite
- Changed the enter icon for controller
- Moved up the boss healthbars, so they don't intercept with the souls count
- Added an animation for collecting a key
Bugfixes:
- Fixed a bug, where the last checkpoint would not save, when the player pauses the game before dying
- Fixed a bug, where checkpoints would be in front of the game over screen layer
- Fixed a bug, where red bullet orbs would be stuck in mid-air
